Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I'm working in Creo Parametric version 11.0.1.0. When in sketch mode and selecting entities for adding dimensions, I hover over the entity until it highlights, but when I click the entity often does not get selected. I thought there might be a config parameter that affects the sensitivity of sketch entity selection, but I wasn't able to identify one.

Hello,Is there a way to make multiple balloon notes in an assembly drawing for flexible components that are used multiple times in an assembly without changing the BOM table attributes to duplicate the lines?Example would be having 2 extension springs that have the same part number and both are made flexible to stretch in the assembly. Because the assembly is large, the springs are on not on the same page and I would like a balloon note on each spring. However, I can only make one using the ‘Create Balloons’ function and I can not move it from spring to spring.The work around we have done is to use ‘Annotate > Balloon Note’ but this will not update the number if the assembly were to change.Does anyone know of how to do this properly?

We tested it from different locations but the license server does'nt work.I am sure that we do not have a problem with the proxy server.Does anyone have the same problem?Question to the PTC folks: Is it possible to fix the problem?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM040 When I create the thickness from a quilt, I do not have the special management option exclude surfaces.

Does anyone have an easy solution for toggling model check on and off from the UI or using a mapkey on Creo 10? Currently I have been achieving the result by temporarily renaming the modcheck folder in my installation. I am working through a 12 page drawing that takes 10-15 minutes to complete a model check which is triggered every time the drawing is saved or checked in to Windchill. Besides being a productivity killer as Creo is held hostage during the check, it is also a disincentive for the user to save frequently.This sluggishness has occurred on both a i9 13th gen powered  with 64gb of ram and a new Dell Pro Max 16 with current gen i9 ultra and 64 gb of ram.

I wish I had found a list like this a few years ago.  I've searched the web and compiled the following list for your enjoyment.  Many are probably considered basic with a few very cool, complex curves thrown in.  The list is divided into the coordinate systems that you will have to choose when creating the datum curve.To initiate the command that will allow you to try these, go to Insert>Model Datum>Curve>From Equation.  After the Equations section see the section title Links to find PlanetPTC discussions and videos that have demonstrated and, in some cases, explained the curve from equation command in more detail with ways to incorporate relations and parameters. Currently using Creo 11.  I've found some posts, but no solutions.  Is there a way to automatically show external cosmetic threads in their typical format such as 1/4"-20 instead of 0.250-20?  There was a post from years ago about editing the .hol table, but this method doesn't work as somewhere along the line PTC changed the format of the hole table.  Now in the table, there is only "BASIC_DIA".  If you edit the table to say 1/4 or "1/4", a value of 0 shows up in the hole note.

I am working with the flat harness tool to create a flat stick assembly of my cable harness. I have worked with the tool previously, so I know the basics behind how to lay out different segments of my cable system.When you select a new segment to flatten, it prompts you for the bend radius and the bend angle. I am running into an issue where the allowable range of the bend angle is extremely small, sometimes even at a fraction of a degree. Previously, I have seen the range go from -180 to 180 degrees, so I am unsure why I am getting such a small bend angle range. Has anyone ran into this issue before? Thank you.

We're interested in SmartAssembly for a project we have.  It will involve a model using a number of curves generated from .pts tables.  We would want to code both the initial setup, and revisions using new point data.  To do one set, it's simply start the offset points operation, set the coordinate system, browse to the table, then done.  Making the curve is even simpler.  And to update means just edit definition of the pts table, browsing to new, and all that.  Doing it multiple times, it's a couple of simple steps, set within a loop, where the names of the tables increment through a preset sequence (TURN01_V1, TURN01_V2, TURN02_V1, etc).   Question is, does smartassembly have this capability, or more specifically, is that something that can be coded for use in smart assembly?  I am not looking for the code, just some feedback from SA users as to whether we are looking at the right software?

Hi,I have a new server and had to create a new license file for the host.The new license file has “BORROW =1” in all positions. The old license file has “BORROW =720”. If I understand right 720 stands for hours. 720 means 720/24 = 30 days. With the new license file, it is not possible to borrow a license anymore.All licenses are permanent.Is it possible to solve that?

Hi everyone,In our drawing BOM, the SIZE column shows values like 156.000x40.000x33.509 as a single string. I'd like to split this into three separate columns (L, W, H) showing only whole numbers, with standard rounding (anything above .5 rounds up).Current output in the SIZE column:156.000x40.000x33.509800.000x600.000x70.000156.000x156.000x34.925Desired output across three columns:L W H156 40 34800 600 70156 156 35A few things I'm unsure about:Is there a way to do this directly in the Creo drawing repeat region table, using column format or symbolic parameters?Can relations or parameters (e.g. user-defined SIZE_L, SIZE_W, SIZE_H) be used to parse and round the SIZE string, and then called in the BOM table?Any advice on the best practice for this in Creo Parametric would be appreciated. Hi All,I’m facing an appearance‑related issue when importing STEP AP214 files into Creo 11, and I’m looking for guidance or best practices.Workflow and Issue:I export a STEP file (AP214 format) from Fusion 360. When I import this STEP file into Creo 11 as an assembly, all components appear with the default grey appearance. However, when I clear the assembly‑level appearance in Creo, the original part‑level appearances/colors are restored correctly. The same STEP file opens correctly with appearances intact in Autodesk Inventor, without any manual steps.STEP Schema Used:FILE_SCHEMA (('AUTOMOTIVE_DESIGN { 1 0 10303 214 3 1 1 }'));Questions:Is there a way in Creo 11 to retain the original appearances automatically when importing STEP AP214 assemblies? Hi everyone,Does anyone knows how to delete or remove the system generated notes.I tired the APIs,ProDtlnoteRemove() - failingProDtlnoteDelete()  - failingProDtlnoteErase() - erasing note until next regenerationthese above API are removing all the notes except the system generated note (for eg: scale 1:1, section x-x).

I am using Creo 9.0.8.0 and in the process of obsoleting some parts. I delete a couple of patterns of parts (stacked on a skid), but the quantity dimension is left behind (orphaned?). Is this a bug?   Before deletion (I hadn't saved, so I exited and started over) After deletion Thanks, Dale

Is it possible to create a mirrored part/sub assy in Creo Parametric through Toolkit ?i'm aware to Articles - CS339524 & CS291468 however maybe there is some workaround to achive this goal ? thought on maybe using Merge / Inheritance or such.any idea would be appriciated

for MBD files i’ve made revisions after that i need to clear the notes like {5}, so that is their any way to clear them, i tired by mapkeys or modelcheck but couldn’t get exact way..Pls let me know any possible scenorios Thanks in advance 

Hello, typically when using derived parts we know beforehand if we will be using them or not. To do this typically we would make the purchased blank, then use the derive (merge inheritance) feature to show the part was made from said blank beforehand. My question is, if we already have an existing part, is there any way we could create a blank, then change the existing part to be derived from said blank?
