Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: The OOTB Windchill functionality appears to only allow one part instance allocation to each part included in the structure of a parent part Instance. For example, it appears that if I wished to associate 100 different instances of a child part within the structure of a parent part instance, I would first have to specify that the quantity of the child part is 100 before then allocating a unique part instance to each of the 100 rows. This could end up being quite time consuming.Description: I am unable to find a way of achieving the same objective in a more efficient manner. For example, it would be nice if it was possible to only include one row under the parent part instance which communicates the details of the child part. Using my example above, I could use this single row to specify a quantity of 100 before then using the "Allocate Existing Part Instance" wizard to multi-select the 100 child part instances I would like to associate with the row

I'm looking for some insight into how companies are handling temporary engineering deviations on released parts/drawings in PDMLink. Does PDMLink have any native capability for handling these situations, or is it up to each company to figure out how to handle this by using a lifecycle state or some other means?Here's an example of an engineering deviation -- a screw is out of stock, so a substitute screw is allowed for production but it has a different part number than what is shown on the drawing. In this case, the drawing needs to be temporarily modified but there's no change request involved. Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I am trying to include information within the context of a part instance that tells users where the part instances are allocated. But, I only want to show the parent part instances which the child is allocated to which are at a state of "Released". For example, I have part instance A which is a child of part instance B. Part instance B is at a state of "Released" at revision C. When I create a new revision of part instance B, the first iteration of revision D includes part instance A as a child within its structure. I can then remove part instance A from the structure of part instance B, revision D before setting the state of part instance B, revision D to "Released". If I then navigate to part instance A and look under the "Allocations" tab, part instance A is still said to be allocated to revision D of part instance B, despite part instance A not featuring in the structure of the released iteration of revision D of part instance B.Description: I

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.0We are currently experiencing an issue with Windchill Workgroup Manager (WGM) version 13.0.2.0 when integrating with CATIA V5-6R2020. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.7Is is possible to have a Deliverable with multiple linked Plan Activities, in a Product container, have its % Complete automatically updated as the completion of activities is updated?It seems like you can only have the Deliverable % Complete auto-update if you have only one linked Activity and the Plan has the " Link deliverables with project activities" checked when you create the Plan, but then you can only link one activity. Here's an example of my use-case:I have a WBS structure organized by product function. Each function may have a "Release Drawings" activity, for example. I'd like to create a deliverable that consolidates all "Release Drawings" activities and have it's % Complete reflect the % Complete of all linked activities.

We are upgrading from Windchill 12.0 to Windchill 13.0 on the test server, and I see the license count on the Production server has doubled compared to the previous license count once done with the Test upgrade. We are using local LDAP and not enterprise LDAP is that the issue or any other reason?

We need access control based on "View" e.g. Manufacturing view should be accessible only to a role "Manufacturing engineer" Does Windchill 10.1 supports it ? Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: I want to list all (promotion) processes that are currently runningDescription: Hi All I have a small issue that i don't understandI below a part of the process tab of a promotion request. As you can see the process is still running. But when i lookup the same process is don't result in any processes.I'm sure the process isn't finished. because for example in the promotion request there is a model with where the previous released version was B.2. It is now revised and the current released  version should become C.4. when the promotion process is over the B.2 should get the state 'replaced'. And (at least )not all of the objects has changed.The reason i ask this is that i want all still running processes (i know there are more, but i don't want to check every promotion / change request etc manually)Am i doing something wrong? Version: Windchill 13.0   Use Case: Not sure if it's a problem between the keyboard and the seat, but my Windchill JavaDoc isn't showing the wt.vc.wip.WorkInProgressService class. Description: I'm working on some customization and using the wt.vc.wip package. The javadoc (Windchill 13.0.2) isn't showing the WorkInProgressService class page.  There's no scroll bar and it shows a random (but repeatable) few methods in what looks like the middle of a page.    I tried downloading the javadoc from PTC's website too and it behaves the same. Is this a "me" problem?   

I’m trying to download and install the 30-day free trial of PTC Windchill Risk and Reliability (formerly Windchill Quality Solutions), but I’m encountering an issue when accessing the trial link. When I click on the download link, I receive the following message:“Document Not Found — The web page, PTC Windchill Quality Solutions Evaluation, was retired on September 30, 2025.” Could someone from the PTC team or community please assist with obtaining access to the 30-day trial?My company is evaluating this software for potential purchase and would like to test its functionality before moving forward.
