3D Part & Assembly Design

The customer plans to upgrade to Creo 10.0 in the future; however, all drawing work is currently being performed based on Creo 3.0.Accordingly, I am modifying drawing formats (.frm, .drw) in a Creo Parametric 3.0 (M190) environment.In the drawing tables, parameter values are linked to table cells. When the parameter values become long in the drawing, automatic text wrapping (Wrap Text) is applied to improve readability.However, when Wrap Text is enabled, the full parameter value is not preserved. Only the last line after wrapping is displayed, and the parameter is not recognized correctly.According to PTC article CS230831, this issue was resolved in Creo Parametric 2.0 M220.I would like to ask whether there is any configuration change or workaround available to resolve this issue in the Creo Parametric 3.0 environment.

Hi folks, I've built a pretty simple front panel and I'm trying to make a drawing out of it. When I placed the Front and Right view I noticed that it's showing me all the hidden lines, even though my Display mode is Shaded with Edges (I've triple checked this and I have also tried to change it to No Hidden, no luck). View Display for each view are set to Follow Environment and all Layer elements are hidden. I've even tried to manually hide them via Edge Display and that doesn't work either (doesn't hide anything, but Show Modified Edges does highlight my targeted lines). Lastly Force_wireframe_in_drawings is set to off,  I've looked around for previous topics and found no resolution, so here we are.I've attached an image of the drawing (front view and right view as Section) and the 3D model from the front and back view so you can see where the issue is appearing: the rear-of-panel-cut out is showing up in the front view and the side view is showing every c

I like the new (well, it's been a few years now) tools for Project and Offset. They're harder to teach, but they're more robust. But today I tried to use a seldom used command: Convert to Tapered. It used to be you can select an Offset geometry in the Sketcher and hit Operations->Convert to->Tapered, and then have the offset vary from one end to the other. Nice little trick. Well, it seems it doesn't work anymore? I tried getting it to work, but it's always greyed out. I searched through the documentation, and found this little note:  When you use the new tools for offsetting or projecting an edge the following functionality is not supported.• Projecting an axis.• Projecting or offsetting in the Blend tool.• Creating a Pattern of the type Curve.• Converting the new offset geometry to Tapered. Hm, I guess we got some new limitations with the new tools. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.11.0When I import a tiff image in my DRW the created dimensions, notes, and symbols appear above the image, while sketch entities appear below, so I have to increase the image's transparency to manage them.I there a command for put under the image?

Hi! I use merged balloon symbols for multiple component. If this merged balloon symbol is moved the leader always move to the middle and works inconsistently.:(view in My Videos)Is there a config key settings to disable this behavior? I think it is a new thing, never happened in previous version of creo (creo8).I'm using: Creo parametric ver. 10.0.4.0 Thanks in advance!

We have started to explore the Framework add in with creo.  We noticed that the 8020 library is missing a LOT of sizes and components.  Is this actively updated?  Is it our responsibility to add in the additional sizes and components to meet our needs beyond the basics that is available? Thanks

 Q1 how to create new profile in creo 8 and saved to libraries?Q2 I had selected rose krieger profile and Bosh profile but in creo, It showed as a rectangular tube with hole in it. how to get the actual visualization? why is that happening?   

Hi Community, we are currently thinking about adding some more t-slotted profiles to the advanced framework extension and are wondering what you are using in you designs.  Currently we offer the following manufacturers: Bosch Item Kanya Maytec Minitec Rose+Krieger Frameworld INCH 8020 INCH Controlled Dynamics Do you miss anything in this list and also if you are using the mentioned libraries already are there profiles missing that you would like to have in a future release?   Any feedback is welcome.   Greetings Sam

I’m looking for a solution to build a Configurable Product in Creo that includes a mechanism.Here’s the scenario:I have a rail mechanism with variable length.When a specific variant (length) is selected, I want the linear motion to be limited according to that selected length.What I’ve tried so far:I created a Motion Skeleton inside the Configurable Product.The rail module was connected to the first body of the Motion Skeleton.The cradle module was connected to the second body of the Motion Skeleton.I was able to build variants using Variant Builder, but the problem is:The cradle’s position is driven by the Motion Skeleton.Changing the rail module length does not affect the motion range, so the cradle runs out of short rails.To fix this, I moved the Motion Skeleton into a new module to build different lengths.However, the Assign Choices function doesn’t work (red icon appears, and I can’t check the checkbox for length).Question:Has anyone successfully built a configurable assembly that

Do you have to produce design data (2D Drawing, MBD packages, etc.) that supports a mix of suppliers where some want ISO/DIN standard GD&T and others want ASME/ANSI standard GD&T?  This question came up from a team at our European division that is working between Creo Parametric and Windchill and NX and Teamcenter.I had always thought the standard was up to the company creating the content, with some understanding given to the typical standard for the majority of the suppliers being used.  Any suppliers for whom this isn't their norm would still have to follow the called out standard.We would be curious to hear if anyone is providing content that covers both standards as part of normal process, and how (overview) you do it.

I have creo 9.0.5. I'm trying to export a .dxf file so that i can import it into my plasma table software (torchmate V9). The problem is when I go to import it into torchmate, nothing shows up. A long time ago Creo support helped me change some export settings and we got it to work but I've forgotten since then. Any ideas?

I recently has some symbols in drawings change. Some are missing. Then I noticed that the Dimension Text Symbol Pallet has changed. We are actively moving to SharePoint data storage. Can assembly be organized with Parts in multiple folders / Multiple access users working on different parts of an ASSEMBLY. Assembly Regenerate should update the assembly with latest in SharePoint folders.  

hello all, i am using the simple repeat region method to create a family table in my assembly drawing.because of this i am using filters such as "&fam.inst.param.name == xxxxx" however, in my assembly, i have the same part file copy pasted 4 times (they make a square within my assy) and each instance of the assy has different instances of that part file. ex:assy-1 has part-A, part-B, part-A, part-Bassy-2 has part-C, part-D, part-C, part-Dassy-3 has part-E, part-F, part-E, part-Fassy-4 has part-G, part-H, part-G, part-H so if you notice, they have basically a top/bottom and side/side of the square for each assy instance.when i use the 2-d family table it comes out correct, looking like the example but in table form, but i want to use the simple table because i want to change the top row names. when i apply the filter like always, because the part file is named the same for all instances possible, i end up getting ALL 16 of the part instances for each compone

My mirror features in my sheet metal is not updating when I move my cutout in the sketcher. I noticed that there are plenty of threads mentioning mirrors not working, but what is the solution? is there a config file line that I am missing?

Hi, I am trying to select multiple references (2 a surface and an edge of a part) when creating a datum plane. For some reason holding CTRL while selecting them doesn't work. I can select one or the either and it turns green but when I hold ctrl the surface turns orange for a sec but doesn't select. Could this be because I am using VMware Fusion on my Mac laptop. Is there a work around that I can do? I need to have two references to add a rotational offset for this plane. please help.  Thanks

We are planning to use some AAX extensions to our global licensses PROE_DesignEssG.Is that possible and how can that be achieved fo specific selected users. 

As the title says. I want to learn all the functions available to be used in repeat region filter and relation. The documentation here is very limited https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r12/usascii/index.html#page/detail/About_Writing_Relations.html#Arguable it's just the introduction to what the relation does. But does not give full details of what all functions are available. I've seen in my company people using much more advance relations to filter items in repeat region. I took the Creo authorized course some days back but sadly the instructor kept it just on high level and struggled to provide solutions for complex filters.How can I learn more on this, something that is comprehensive and all inclusive.

All, I have seen posts where family table instances cannot be deleted from Windchill when I delete entire table of the generic. Those deleted instances are still tied to the generic and cannot be deleted. I think I read something about purging the itterations below the latest version. Not sure how to do that. Anyone know how to get rid of these dead instances? I am thinking, maybe if I had the instances in session, then deleted the table, the saved each instance, that may have been the way to go? Wayne

Hi everyone,  Almost every design and manufacturing company uses some parts that are created by cutting some stock material (pipe, hose, aluminium extrusion, etc.) to a defined length without any other machining or other processing. Of course there is no need or sense in creating drawings for these kind of parts because the drawing would only tell what material to use and what length to cut it to. At the moment our method for handling these is by first modeling the part in Creo with any way the engineer is used to and then creating a WTPart automatically during check-in. Next the engineer goes to Windchill and adds a stock material WTPart to the structure of the new WTPart and sets the quantity of the BOM row to match with the length of the model.  Here is an example of the resulting WTPart structure: This is not a great method because if the length of the part is changed, it needs to be updated in multiple places: Model, part name and BOM row quantit
