Hi Community,I am trying to perform a FEA Analysis for the below assembly with contacts. I am interested in a Non-Linear Static Analysis using the preload in the bolts, internal pressure in the pipe and axial load on the flange. I have defined custom time functions for these loads as per the needs but whenever I run the study, it fails throwing up a UI Library error. Can anyone guide me what needs done in such cases?I have defined custom materials for the Gasket and the Rubber springs for its Density, Poissons ratio and its Youngs modulus and I hope that should be sufficient but still unsure if that might be the primary reason for UI Library Failure as the system does not recognize these custom materials?Any Inputs are highly appreciated. The traditional Creo Simulate supports distributed computing, allowing users to sent their simulation tasks to workstation servers for computationally intensive tasks.Just wondering if "Creo Ansys" supports distributed computing technology as traditional Creo Simulate does?

This is my first independent attempt at a dynamic mechanism analysis.I have four horizontal sliders on a slide base that has a dove tail groove down the middle.The sliders have a rectangular shape, with straight plane faces, and are all 100 mm wide.The first slider is a servo motor, start position 0 and the end position is 900.Sliders 2, 3, 4 have start positions 200, 400 and 600 respectively, and end position 900.Distance between sliders is 100 mm.I have set Collision Detection to Global Detection and to Push Objects upon collision. My starting problem was establishing the proper 3D Contacts between the four sliders, and I made a mess of it in the end.Out of sheer desperation I added masses to all sliders (picked steel in the end, as I had a lot of problems with brass, for unknown reasons) and I fumbled with Damping = 80, Young’s modulus = 2e6 to 5e6 and Poisson = 0.30 (without really understanding how these really work).This is one of the error messages from that stage:"The prop

Hi, i hope to be in the right place for my question.I'm playing with Creo Live and i'm doing some CFD analisys on a mecnanical structure, i've manged to have the simulation running (it's similar to the wind tunnel example file).I was trying to get the total forces on a body or a set of surfaces but i have zero cluse on how to setup a measurent.Any help is wellcome.

Hi all,I'm working in Creo Parametric Mechanism to model a pinion and crown gear assembly with axial/radial offset between their axes. This is not a standard intersecting-bevel gear setup — the pinion and crown gear must mesh with a deliberate offset between their axes.However, when I attempt to apply the built-in Bevel Gear Connection, Creo throws: "The references for bevel gear connection are not coplanar”.How can I simulate bevel gear kinematics when the pinion and crown gears are offset (i.e., non-coplanar axes)? 

Hello, Looking for an explanation of some strange results I am getting in Creo simulate.  I am wondering if I have the model setup incorrectly.  The model is not that complicated.  its a bolted assembly with some external masses (sensors) that are associated to the bracket via mass elements and weighted links.   I am trying to understand displacement of the mass elements when they are excited at resonance.  The oddity I am seeing is the massive displacement at frequency 0 (clearly not a real result).   Any help or thoughts on this matter would be great!  See the details i have posted below.     

Hello everybody!I'm using Creo 7 to simulate a mechanism that uses a piston (slider constraint with lower and upper limit, the green part) to partially rotate a cranck mechanism . The problem is that the rotating part wants to pull the piston beyond its limits and then simulation crashes. Actually when the piston is fully extended it acts as a rigid body, What I'd like to do is:- Extend the piston- Start rotating the levers- Stop rotating- Retract the pistonAny suggestion? I thought to replace the piston with a single part (a rod) but as simulation is not "correct" Any suggestion?Best regardsStefano

Hello,  Whenever I print to pdf, the point constraints result plot lose part of its resolution, making them close to unreadable. Is there a way to increase the font size of those particular fonts bigger? I have tried playing around with these config parameters with no luck: default_ui_font 10text_height_factor 40.000000model_tree_font 10

Hi everyone and happy new year,    I've started the Simulation Live trial program and while following the introduction course, i'm running into a strange issue : results stays at zero for any restriction/load i might try. In the information message area, i'm getting this message : The material library is not available in the current working directory or the application data folder. I've commented my usual pro_material_dir option to make sure i'm using OOTB material library. I've also tried to copy the library or the applied material file in the working directory without success.   Thanks for any help on that topic.    

Hi everyone,I'm working in Simulation (Analyses and Studies) within the Structural module in PTC Creo, and I’ve run into an issue: I can’t save result images in high-quality formats like PNG or TIFF.In this section, Creo only lets me save images in lower-quality formats, and I’d like to avoid using screenshots or the snipping tool because the resolution becomes quite poor.Does anyone know if there’s a way to export result images with the same quality as when PNG/TIFF saving is available?Maybe a setting, a workaround, or something I might be missing? I’m also attaching two images to show the issue:The first image is taken in Simulate (before entering Analyses and Studies) and the quality is great.The second image is taken inside Analyses and Studies, and the quality is noticeably lower, which is the problem I’m trying to solve.

Hi @SweetPeasHub @skunks . Thanks for the explanation in this topic attached. For a guy wire in tension, I have defined a beam element using a series of points just as you have showed but the issue that I am facing is these tiny elements of the beams do not seem to be in contact for some reason and the prestress analysis for wires in tension fails. I had defined a rigid link between all these points that make up the beam. Is there any better / correct approach to constrain these tiny beam elements to stay connected? Please guide.    

Hi Everyone,I'm encountering a challenge while attempting static structural simulations in Creo Simulate using Mid Surface shell idealization with contact definitions.It appears that the contact interactions are being ignored during the solution process, leading to premature termination of the simulation. This issue seems specific to the shell idealization approach.While switching to solid or thin solid idealizations does allow the contacts to be recognized, it significantly increases model complexity and computational time.Has anyone faced a similar issue or found a workaround for this? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!

If I try to Open Using Default Template for a result set, I immediately get an error message and then a fatal error. However, if I first launch Creo Simulate, and then use Open Result → Default Template, the same results open normally with no issues.     P.S. i don't have any Z:\ drive  

Hello!I have a frame design. I wish to get the reactions on the 4 points.I have as load the gravitation.The "Y" Reactions are ok. Way I get also reactions on "X" and on "Z"? In case that I have on corner "1" and "4" NO translation and on the corners "2" and "3" translation, by using of load by side, I will not have reaction in the corners "2" and "3". So ...this is the art to determinate the forces, but this is wrong be side load. So ..how to set the constrains correct?Thank you! 

Requested Improvement: There should be some visual indication in the model that the dimensions have been altered using the Analysis -> Dimension Boundaries tool (referenced as Dim Bounds in help).  An analysis feature in the model tree would be helpful,  (This would also be helpful for turning on and off the analysis, or having different analysis scenarios)Also highlighting of the alerted surfaces would also be helpful. One color for more material another for less material. Or, one color for upper boundary, and another for lower boundary.Environment: Tested in Creo 10.0.8.0. Problem: When the Dimension Boundaries feature is used and active, there is currently no indication in the model tree. The risk is that an analysis could easily be left active in a production model.  Manufacturing could manufacture to the model expecting the model to match shown dimension values.   The end result is that bad parts could be made due

I am trying to set up a CFD analysis where a fan is blowing air through a radiator. I don't know the exact geometry of either the fan or the radiator but I know the general size and I have charts to tell me how much pressure drop to expect on the radiator and pressure gain from the fan. Can anyone help to tell me how to set that up in Live Simulation? See the attached picture as a reference.  I have tried to enter a positive pressure on the outlet side of the fan and then measuring (with a probe) the pressure on the surface of the radiator in front of it. Then I take that measured pressure value on the incoming side of the radiator and enter it as inlet pressure. Since in know the pressure drop from the chart, I enter a lesser value on the outlet side mimicking a pressure drop. Am I on the right track or is there a better way to set that up?Thanks!Creo 12

Hi All, I have a fairly simple question I hope, but for some reason can't figure it out myself.When I run a simulate analyses on the shaft below I'm reading much higher stress results than what I calculate by hand. But when I run the same analyses on a beam section the results are lower than the hand calculation. For this reason I'm not feeling very confident on the results at the moment. The situation is as followed:The shaft has fixed displacement contraints on the pink surfaces with all rotational movements "free" and also axial movement free. On both outer ends I have placed a planar contraint to make it "fully contraint".The load is a radial bearing load on the green section. The situation can be compared to the fin of a bow-shackle.  Below the results of this analysis. And this is the beam analysis:And the results. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi, I’ve been trying to identify the stress distribution while twisting happens through simulation but haven’t been able to get accurate results so far. Could someone please assist with setting up or running the analysis? FYI: all parts are plastics(PP), motor will be 10 nm, the blue highlighted area are screws, and the red highlighted area is load acting.Let me know if you need any. 

Hello, I used a subscription to simulate.Budget restrictions...I only have Creo 3 with Simulate "Light".I'm being asked to simulate a chassis in Step.I'm afraid Simulate won't allow me to convert surfaces to shell pairing and perform fatigue calculations.What do you think? Is it better to refuse?

HelloI am trying to simulate the motion speed of a mechanism operated by DC motor.DC Motor Rotation Speed varies with the input torque as attached graph. But it seems impossible to define Motor Rotation Speed by using measured inputtorque in MDO.(There is only servo motor, whose speed does not depends on input torque) In this case, are there any method to simulate with the DC motor? I can calculate this motion in excel or mathcad, based on Torque value at each position angle from creo simulation with servo motor.But It would be great if this could be done just in Creo, or with a simpler workflow

Hi Creo Team, While performing Dynamic Time analysis should the mass normalization parameter  sim_massnorm_modes in Config.pro be set to 'Yes' or does the Dynamic Time analysis automatically sets the parameter to 'Yes' when running. Regards,GS
