I am looking for a way to create a fastener with _custom_ geometry, meaning that the screw should have geometric features that don't exist at all in any of the IFX screw types. In particular, I am currently looking for a way to create a captive screw that would have the geometry of DIN912 but a captive thread (rod). See attached image - the existing dimensions in SCREWTYPE01 would remain, but additionally I would need a reduced-diameter rod size DC (to make it captive) , as well as full-diameter cylindrical face height DH (it may be slightly different from just a thread height B). I marked my new features and their sizes in red. Is this possible in IFX? I would imagine, I may use any SCREWTYPE1 part as a starting point, modify the geometry, add two extra dimensions as required, adding control of these extra dimensions in the .dat file (i'd keep the "SCREWTYPE  1" in the .dat file) and hope it would work. However before I try that myself I'd like to know if that

Hi I have a torsion spring which is modeled with relations to show it as near to real world as possible. This behaves correctly (as a stand alone model)  adjusting the diameter, body height etc, when the parameters are modified within the spring design. The working deflection range of the spring  is from 0° - 193° between the 2 legs.  When this spring is installed into an assembly and the spring is made as a flexible component and constrained by an angular positions in the assembly model. The flexible spring behaves correctly through the deflection range 0° - 179°, but anything over that, then the angular measurement is reversed. For example at full deflection on the assembly model 193° , the flexible component measurement analysis reads 167° ( i.e. 360 - 193).In the assembly model the spring then appears disconnected.There is no difference if the analysis plot is set to 0-360 or +/- 180.The only way I have found to gain the correct measurement is to manually modify

We work in a dual ECAD environment - PADs and Xpedition. We are trying to move to the IDX standard, but we keep on hitting road blocks, especially with holes. For those that use these formats, how do you collaborate with holes?   Some issues: Current Hole feature doesn't include any copper ring that we would want to be shown on the ECAD side when we send it over. Current BOARD Hole feature doesn't allow for ref des' to be placed PADS doesn't support BOARD holes, only holes in a 'part'. They also don't support MTG hole type. Which means every MTG hole is coming in as a PIN type. However, PIN types are not collaborated upon in Creo for IDX, because they should be coming from the components.   How are you handling holes with collaboration? 

Hello, I want to print a Mathcad worksheet to PDF by using Mathcad15 command (mathcad.exe -p test.xmcd) in order to realize automate batch printing. But it cant't show the list combo box when printing by this way. This problem also appear when printing in the Mathcad15 GUI if I don't pull down the worksheet page to "active" the list combo box, only when I pull down the page and view the list combo box, it can be showed in the printed PDF (case).  Any ideas?Thanks for answer.

I want to solve the following equation at the bottom and get T_react/T_com on one side and the rest on the other side. Is there a way to rearrange the equation like that? I am using Version 10.0.1.0

Hello everyone The explode lines always protrude too far over the items, so that both explode lines seem to be in front of the item (see screenshot "before").I spend a significant amount of time to manually pull each end of the explode lines to a reasonable position in the 2D drawing (see screenshot "after"). I assume the reason is the white shadow, as without it the explode line would end exactly in the outline of the item.  Is there any setting that can improve this situation ?I'm using Creo Illustrate 11.0 Thank you a lot in advance

Hi all,am I the only one who keeps losing 3D page sizes and line settings for callouts?I mean, I define a 3D page size and then create the 2D image. Everything is fine. But after saving, closing and reopening, this page size is missing. This doesn't always happen, but againe and againe. Sometimes more often, sometimes less often.In the same way, CI sometimes loses the line setting of callouts (white shaddow, line thickness).It is annoying. What could be so difficult about storing the settings securely in a database? Is there someone else havin the same problems? Best regardsRamon(Siemens Energy)

We have aging licenses of Mathcad 14 that we've kept going as long as possible but the end is nigh. Mathcad Prime's licensing is a yearly rental and I don't want to do that. We've evaluated seveal replacements. Does anyone have any opinions on this Maple Flow product? Can't use smath because of security. Other tools like Blockpad are too distant from Mathcad.

Hi, using Mathcad 15.0. I have a solve block producing some very strange units, and I can't get it solve with the right units.  If I take each result out of the Find, the units are right. Anyone know how to get this to work? Mathcad file attached.

I used to enter &model_name:d into the title block.  We just upgraded to CREO 10.  I tried adding the parameter to the drawing even.

My team has been working at solving this problem for ages and we can't seem to find a suitable solution. Our fab shop uses formed part drawings instead of flat patterns for forming sheetmetal; they require dimensions for bends to reference the apex of a bend. This is normally fine, but when it comes to joggles, we're not able to come up with a method that works for engineering drawings and our press operators. I've attached a simple part showing the desired dimension and the dimensions that I'm able to achieve in a .dwg.  Has anyone managed to find a dimensioning method that produces the dimension in the attached "Model Example"?

I am working on a new illustration.  When I open the illustration and drag/drop my items from the sBOM to the Item List, it automatically brings the items in by CAD location (First Image).  This oparticular illustration has 67 items. Our company does out parts manuals in numerical part number order, so I have to resort the list by Item tag order (Second Image). Doing so, requires me to renumber the ITM list manually as I have found no way to do it automatically. None of the options in the Item List tab / Numbering group help.  I must manually change the number down to ITM #1 manually, which in this case will take over 63 clicks of the mouse.  The next item will take over 42 clicks of the mouse.  I will have to click thousands of time to renumber just this one illustration. Does anyone have any info on how to get the system to do a renumber by Item Tag order?  It would be a life saver.  I put a ticket in on this a few months ago and it was ac

I have downloaded the trial version of PTC Mathcad Prime and want to review how the current version of the software compares with my previous use of older Mathcad versions.  I have a file from Mathcad 11 in .mcd format, and when I try to use the PTC Mathcad Prime 10.0 1.0 XMCD, MCD converter, it does not convert to the new software format.  The converter says license is not found.  Is this type of file conversion available in the trial version of Prime?  I no longer have the old version of mathcad on my current computer.

When the window procedure window is closed, the loop stops.   This function is effective in loops. As soon as I add "DEFAULT_CALLOUT_FORMAT_DATA" to the ISO.hol file, Creo 5.0.6 does not open that file and is not visible in hole dialog. I do not add anything else. Anyone knows why this is happening?

The issue that I am experiencing might be an old and known issue but I just can't seem to find a solution. I have been using Mathcad for the last 15 years with the licensing and support being maintained by my employer. I have a locked license which I need to transfer to my new PC.My employer however did not renew the support account so I cannot access any help or advice from there. I was really hoping someone can assist me as I am unable to use the software at the moment although an active license exists. The host ID just need to change.  I tried looking up the existing license/host ID/contract number etc but nothing could be found. Any suggestions or assistance would really be appreciated 

 I am looking for an implementation of a program for curve fitting. I have already achieved a good approximation using the genfit function. Currently, I am trying to improve the fit further by using a routine with while loops that iteratively adjusts the three variables to achieve a better approximation. However, when I start the loop, it runs indefinitely and fails to find a solution. Could anyone help me resolve this issue?
