I am using 20.6 Creo Elements direct, When I am in annotation I can not change from INCH to metric as my default, I've tried changing the units, but they say they are already in MM, I also tried dimension properties but it will revert back to Inch after the selection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Greetings (New Creo User Here), I am creating a simple U-shaped structure (see pic below) pinned at the large holes you see on the vertical channels (blue, one not shown to the left is a mirror image), connected to a front/back mirrored pair of horizontal channels (yellow) by 4 bolts at each end of the yellow beam. A mass is applied to the plate (red) resting on top of the yellow beams. This gives a total of two vertical channels, two horizontal channels, the plate, and 16 bolts (all identical).Colorized Components (1/2 of Structure) I am using very stiff bolts with a much softer structural material (e.g., steel bolts with sheet aluminum), and am not worried about the bolts failing in tension. They really operate more like pins in this scenario (light or no preload), rather than the idealized "fastener" found in Analysis-->Refine Model-->Connections.I've done what was suggested by other authors for older versions in creating idealized point-to-point b
Hi everyone, normally in the skeleton model solid geometry is not used.Is this still the case with the advent of multi-body?Have any of you tried using solid geometry in the skeleton model?Do you think there are any advantages? Floryn
Is there any way I can prevent mathcad from multiplying both numerator and denominator here? This isn't a simplification I'm looking for, it messes up my further calculations.
Hi, I'm trying to get a set of data in a form where I can copy and paste it into a another application. It is two columns of data. The first is a range variable. The second is a calculation on the range variable.I've tried to get the two columns of data into an embedded Excel Component but just can't see how to do it. Getting confused between ranges versus vectors/matrices.Is there a way of converting the range variable into a vector?Any help would be much appreciated. I thought if you can see the indices, it is a vector/matrix? Dave
When unsung Merge/Inheritance to merge a part file (raw material file) into another file (machined part file) I am getting failures with the scaling of the parts. This only happens when the files are made using different units of measurement i.e. the part file being merged is mm and the part file that is being worked on is inches. What seems to be happening is a part made in metric being merged into an inch file has a scale that is 25.4 times the intended size because Creo isn't making the unit conversion and instead bring in the mm units unscaled into the inch file and vice-versa. This issue can somewhat go away when toggling between Merge/Inheritance but that will bring in the design tree which isn't ideal. We cant make them the same units of measure since the prints need to be in there respective units for documentation/customer reasons. Edit: using Creo 9Edit 2: When changing the units in either model to match the part end up working fine, so t
In Creo Parametric, is there a way to search/filter the model tree for a list of part numbers at once instead of searching for part numbers one at a time? In Creo View there is a "Multiple Search Values" option where you can search for a list of part numbers at once. In Windchill there is "OR" Boolean logic that uses a semicolon ";" to allow the search of multiple part numbers.

Using the evaluate Expression tool while editing the repeat region relations can you put multiple lines on a single line using something like a new line or next line character? E.g. If x=="1" `n y=="2" `n ENDIF Although this may be useful in the actual code I think it would be most helpful in the Evaluate Expressions dialog to better troubleshoot and develop relation code: Creo Parametric 7.0.11.0 drawing environment.
Hello all. I am not new to Mathcad but am new to matrices and evaluations. What i am trying to figure out is how to tell Mathcad Prime 9.0 to automatically select incrementing rows from a previous matrix for use in an formula. Please see the attached screenshot from a manual. I can define the E matrix without issue, but am lost after that. I have tried setting n = 0 and ORIGIN = 0, but that doesnt do what I need.
I have a large assembly filled with many parts. I can use the mass properties tool to select each individual part and retrieve the mass properties that way but I was wondering if there was an easier method or tool that could accomplish populating the properties for each part quicker.
This isn't urgent, I'm just curious here, but in the attached Prime 8.0 file I'm plotting an offset circle in steps from 0° to 360°. When I reduce the resolution by going to 10° steps I get the interesting figure on the right. Why is that happening?
CREO Parametric 5.0.6.0 user. Does anyone know if it is possible to create a relation between the name of a group or other feature to a specific dimension? Thanks in advance. Best regards Kenneth Pontoppidan
Hi,I would like to change the model scale of a whole assembly (Creo2)Model \ Operations \ scale Model> entering a scale value (1.5)> confirmation (Yes)This don't have any effect. So we have to change scale part after part. Then, if this operation is not possible on an assembly, strange to see this option is available in assembly mode.Is there any manner to do this ?Thanks,
I imported data from excel in to creo through excel analysis. But the name for each imported parameter is appearing as XL_4_2, XL_4_3 XL_5_2, XL_5_3, etc.(see attachment)How can I change the name of these parameters. I want each imported parameter to be identified as some user defined parameter name.
Hi, I had a problem with some assembly that were showing planes even when I had my "plans's display" off. I realise that the planes that were still showing up had a special property checked, as you can see below : (obtained with a right clic on the plane / properties) Is it possible to hide those type of planes too when plans's display is off (at least in assembly) ?For information, when I change the display back to the normal property of the plane, the plane hides like it should but it would be great if I didn't have to.
Hello, Does Creo have any tool similar to SOLIDWORKS' Surface Mutual Trim. As I have a surface with multiple curves and contours, and I need to delete some of them and keep others. I'm using Creo 8.
When you try to edit annotation text etc. in drafting, it is redrawn continuously, making it very difficult to use.I would like to know if there is a way to prevent continuous redrawing using config etc.
Good morning, I recently reinstalled Creo 6. I didn't pay attention to my configuration options and the "save_file_iterations" configuration was set to yes. I modified my configuration options to no longer have iteration for my next files and I understood that if my existing files have the iteration extension they will continue to have the iteration extension each time. registration. Hence my question: Is there a way to remove this iteration extension to have "classic" files again? (I don't use Windchill) Thanks for your help. Good news, everyone! I want to share simplest Qt project for using C++ Object Toolkit API for connection to Creo Parametric. https://github.com/YaroslavSin/qt-creo-otk Feel free to use it as start template and comment it.
Hi all.How do I create an arc length dimension and add the symbol to the dimension text?I need similar to the 250 dim in the attachment. Thanks
Our company upgraded to Creo 9 recently. I had custom IFX files that worked fine with Creo 7 and now having some issues in Creo 9. First when select the drop-down for the screw catalog, the drop-down expands across the whole screen. Second, when about to create/assemble screw I get an error message.
