Hi,I study at the University and the topic of my diploma thesis is to create a generator of shafts in Creo (something like in Inventor).I´ve already made a program in PRO/Program:It is possible to create a cylinder/cone shaft with features (groove, axis hole and champfer on both sides). Now i need to make an aplication in MATLAB. For that, I need a text file of program. But there is a problem because I can´t input a text file in Creo. So there is my question : How can i input a text file into Creo to be possible to create a model of shaft. I´ve got a student version of Creo. Thanks for anwers. 😄
Is there a way to create a Variable Text Pattern? I have cosmetic text that I have patterend but I need to change each of the number values. For example, if I have an alpha-numerical text that's been pattered 3 times, such as TB1..TB1..TB1is there a way to change each number value to TB1..TB2..TB3?I can't seem to find a way to change the value of each pattern instance. Regards, -Cory R
I am new to the office and I just started learning about the style tool. I try to press shift so that the curve grabs the contour line of my solid geometry, but sometimes it works and I get a cross, but sometimes it seems not to work and I only get a small circle. Does somebody maybe know why sometimes it manages to grab the contour line of the solid geometry, and sometimes it does not? I attached pictures of a block which I am working on as an example, where on the right side, it worked, and I get a cross, whereas on the left side, it did not work and I only get a little blue dot. I also noticed that sometimes the references appear in the background in an orange color, and then you can use them, but sometimes they do not, and I do not know what this behaviour depends on. Does somebody maybe have experience with this? Thanks a lot for a response!
Are we able to turn off the bubble around our bill of material call outs? Option to put it on a non print layer or hide the bubble. The parent company we work with is asking us if this was an option in creo.Or if we could add it to an enhancement request item for future creo drawing release. We understand how the leader is tied to the circle entity for auto relationships. But would like to turn that puppy off during times we need more space for callouts.
Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to create a hole table containing only the diameters and corresponding labels? I looked online but the only mention of something similar was this post (https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Custom-hole-table-to-auto-output-custom-data/td-p/536880) from 2018 which didn't conclude with an answer. I am looking to create the same type of table (Lettered holes referring only to the diameter, as our punching department prefer the dimensions to be visible on the drawing itself- but having a diameter call-out on every hole makes our drawings very messy) and ended up doing it manually as I couldn't find a solution. The below image is what I was hoping to achieve automatically with a hole table. Manually checking and entering all of the dimensions is very time consuming, especially on our more complex parts. I did consider a repeat region in a regular table based on the suggestions in the other post I linked
I have an active license, but when i complete the install, my ptc desktop shows a "created with ptc mathcad express:" watermark.. Can you point me to the full installer or is there something i am missing with my install or my current license?
to all, A question regarding the Cholesky LDL decomposition. given a matrix A one can have A=LDL* where L* is the transpose of L using the mathcad 15 cholesky(A), how does one code mathcad to get D? L = cholesky(A) Thanks in advance Josh
I want to place a symbol positioned on the upper line of my drawing title block, which is in a frame (A4,A3 ...)But it seems Impossible to catch the upper line of this title block to snap with the position origin-point of the symbol. Is there any solution to position this symbol exactly on my title blocks?
New features for consideration:
Hey guys, I really need your help on this.I'm using CREO by a whole server created by H.O. so excuse me for having not much information.I'm trying to use the AFX system so I went looking for it in the community.1. I tried the reconfigure.exe but It seems H.O. somehow prevented other people from changing the configuration. So I couldn't find out if the license actually exists.2. I went through the installation directory and found out in Common_Files there IS an AFX folder. I'm curious even if we don't have the license, can the folder be created?3. I tried going into the option and checked that afx_enabled's value is yes. But when I go to the ribbon menu actually there's nothing showing. Is it the H.O. that's not giving the license for AFX, or are there any different solutions that I don't know?
Hello, How would you compare Mathcad with following software? What would be the advantages of using Mathcad (Prime - because it was chosen to continue with MC Prime further) compared to the following software: Standard Maple, Maple Flow, Wolfram Mathematica or Matlab? What would be the disadvantages of using Mathcad (Prime) compared to the following software: Standard Maple, Maple Flow, Wolfram Mathematica and Matlab? Why do you prefer Mathcad (Prime) instead of the other software: Standard Maple, Maple Flow, Wolfram Mathematica or Matlab? Or do you use the other software listed above besides Mathcad (Prime)? Why? Is it really better to use Mathcad (Prime) compared to the other software above, at least from the point of view of say the following fields: Engineering/Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Signal Processing, Calculus, Matrices, Algorithm (convergence, accuracy, precision), working with units, programming? Is it worth messing aro
Hi, can someone help me by converting these old version of file (05 files) so I can open it in Mathcad Prime? My option to convert the file is also grayed out. thanks!!
I have been having an issue with regeneration of only certain assemblies. For some reason whenever I activate a window of a large assembly that my coworker created in a folder it has long regeneration times (it doesn't do the same for him). But when I open an even larger assembly created in another folder, that has similar components, the regeneration time is instant. Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this?
OK, limitations 1. Why do I have to carry out a fatigue analysis on a whole assy?- There is a file containing stress results by part/volume region- One could carry out a fatigue calulation with the stress results from a single node by hand but it is lazier to use software (and less human error probably)- I suppose I could fiddle with the results files and make my own up. The software would be unable to tell the difference bewteen one I create and a 'real' one. 2. Why can't I select a contact analysis?- There is a file containing stress results by loadstep.- Ok, ignore contact stresses but why not be able to go the the final loadstep automatically- Yes I know it's non-linear, But sometimes we need to be pragmatic engineers. Again, I suppose I could fiddle with the results files and make my own up. 3. What 'location', 'label(s)' would you use for this? What message tags would you create?
Hello, How would one set limits for the variable in the solve command. In the example below, I know that k has to be between certain values. Thanks,
I am using Creo Parametric Release 3.0 and DatecodeM090A couple of our engineers are having problems with opening and modifying models and drawings without Creo crashing. It happens with everything they try to open. Another engineer and I have tried opening one of the same models & drawings and it works fine for us. One of the engineers has had crashing issues off & on for some time. I have a traceback.log file and the trail.txt file she sent me from the last crash. Here are the errors that I faced-------------------------------------------------The trace creation timestamp is: Wed Feb 08 15:45:26 23The executable build timestamp is: Thu Mar 24 06:14:53 16The datecode is: 2016050The pro machine type is: x86e_win64The process ID is: 20292The traceback type is : CRASHThe logger exit status is: 00003The release is: 3.0The external datecode is: M090The product title is: Creo Parametric-------------------------------------------------Exception EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION has occurred
Hi, I would like to know how a radial arc length dimension can be shown in a drawing view in creo elements also would like to know how circles or any isolated lines can be made hidden or removed from a main body surface in a drawing. Thank you.
Did you find a solution to this?I'm experiencing the exact same situation . RE: post
I use this functionality often, but I can't find how to get to it. OK, that sounds funny, but I access it with a very old mapkey that enacts the old cascading menus. How do you access this using Creo 9 menus? As a secondary question, how do you access the cascading menus without an old mapkey?
Does the mathcad subscription license (Prime8.0) support version 15? I can run Prime 8.0, but when I run version 15, I get a license error (-2, 15, 8, etc).
Hallo you all, since a while i cant access Mathcad full version while beeing connected via public wifi. With my home Wifi it works fine.disconnecting VPN doesnt make a difference. Do you have any ideas whats the problem. Since working remote its kinda annoying. Thanks!!
I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.3.0go to add assembly to workspace and receive "Server error: Cannot retrieve family table neutral data"Items do not show up unless i start removing family table items from browser workspace. Here are the errors that I facedServer error: Cannot retrieve family table neutral data"
This is a basic example of how to use the vbapi toolkit for PTC CREO PARAMETRIC (version 9.0.2.0). This also has an example of how LabView does the equivalent of a VB.NET " typecast " to parent and child objects in ActiveX using Variant To Data. Detailed documentation of the interface is installed with the Creo vba tookit at C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo X.X.X.X\Common Files\vbapi
This month’s challenge is on black holes! Create a worksheet that: Calculates the event horizon (Schwarzschild radius), last photon orbit, last stable particle orbit, and temperature if the Sun, Moon, and planets of our solar system were to become black holes. (You can choose whether to include Pluto.) Uses the Chart Component to depict the event horizon and temperature as a function of mass up to the size of UY Scuti, the largest known star in the Milky Way galaxy (which may become a black hole “soon” on a cosmic timescale). Image courtesy of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center / Jeremy Schnittman used under CC BY-SA 4.0. Considerations: How do you provide the inputs? Matrix, table, combo box input control, or other? When creating the Chart Component, does it make sense to use a log scale anywhere? The equations can be found here (hint: most are on page 36). Documentation (text blocks, text boxes, and images) for this challenge is critical! The math is actually not that
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeF000I'm trying to make a .frm to use as a base sheet for multiple drawings. There is a section where some data will be manually input like height, weight, and length, and I'm trying to find a way to make other squares on the table auto spit out the metric version of the input data. For instance, I would manually input 50 (in) into the length and the table auto fills the square next to it with 1270 (mm).Alternatively, if set up parameters so the table would grab the weight (lbs) and then auto calculate the weight (kgs).I get that I need to use relations to do this but I'm unclear on how to do the relation. Thanks in advance.
