Hi everyone,I’m currently exploring Creo’s multi-axis manufacturing capabilities, specifically for impeller machining. I’ve already programmed and machined an impeller using Creo Multi-Axis, but all the strategies—roughing, blade finishing, and hub machining—had to be created manually. (Please see attached picture.)Other CAM software like Mastercam and Siemens NX offer dedicated modules or toolpaths tailored for impellers and other bladed components. So I’d like to ask:Does Creo offer any specialized tools or modules for 5-axis impeller machining? Are there built-in strategies for blade-to-blade finishing, tool tilting and collision avoidance, and roughing in deep/narrow passages? What about hub finishing with smooth transitions?Or is everything expected to be built manually through generic multi-axis features?I’d appreciate input from anyone who has experience machining turbomachinery parts in Creo. Thanks in advance!
Hi, I'm using Creo Parametric version 10.0.3.0. I have a couple of questions related to plug-ins:Is the SubD plug-in available for Creo Parametric? Is there any difference between Freestyle and SubD
I can only find one question posed on this and the meaning of the green question mark wasn't provided. Nothing in the online help either. Mathcad also indicates that there are errors in the included document, but there aren't. Wasn't sure if the green ! was related to that. The included/reference document expects to see some values defined before it because the included document does calculations based on the pre-defined values. So in actual use with required variable definitions provided prior to insertion of reference doc, everything should be fine. When you drill down into the reference document, Mathcad acts like it knows nothing about the previously defined variable (which sort of makes sense) and gives me errors (red boxes) on some of the calculations I can't remember, but I thought Mathcad v15 had an "if defined..." function so you could make local definitions if something wasn't already defined. Am I remembering correctly? I haven't seen such a function in Prime (v11)
Hi, How can Mathcad 15 skip steps in a loop with skip stepping dictated within the loop? Here increasing i by two inside the loop only affects the one step not the counter i which jumps back to 7? Any ideas as want to skip one or two loop steps within loop dictated by calculations within the loop. Cheers Terry
Hello,I have created a small C++/CLI library which make calls to a C# DLL, this library works fine if I call it from any other C++ project, but it does not work if I call it from my Toolkit application (based on Creo Toolkit 10.0.6.0).The application compiles and links fine, but it fails to start from the Auxiliary Applications menu: Checking that trailfile info, I only can see these lines related to my app not saying any clue about the possible root cause error: What I'm thinking is that Creo doesn't support Toolkit apps involved with C++/CLI code, but I would like to confirm that, do some of you have experience this? Thanks.
Profile Milling with Tool Compensation and Ramp Entry or helical for Internal Profile Hello CREO Users,I am working on a milling operation for an internal profile (similar to a valve seat geometry) in Creo Manufacturing. My objective is to machine the internal contour using tool radius compensation (CUTCOM) and to ensure smooth ramp transitions between Z-level passes or using helical folling the profile to avoid marks on the final surface.I have tried the following approaches:The Cut Line strategy allows helical movements and smooth transitions between passes, but it does not support tool radius compensation (CUTCOM). This is a requirement for my process. The Profile Milling strategy does support CUTCOM, but it does not offer ramp or spiral entry between Z-level cuts. As a result, the tool plunges vertically at each level, which causes unwanted marks and steps in the internal diameter of the part.I've tried to explore all the SCAN_TYPE parameters. LEAD_IN and LEAD_OUT approach but
Hi! i've installed creo view express but i can't get it to work, i dont get any error message, it just does not open.
I created a worksheet in Mathcad PRIME version 10 that reads data from a text file and creates several graphs. I have 100 text files to read and they are all numbered sequentially (e.g., "file#.txt"). The file that is read is controlled by a variable in my Mathcad worksheet (in conjunction with concat() and num2str() functions). Currently I am manually changing the variable in the worksheet that controls the file that is read in, refreshing the worksheet, and then saving the file as a PDF (and manually typing in the desired name of the PDF file). Is there a way to automate this so I don't have to manually change the variable 100 times and manually type the desired name for the PDF file?
I am using Mathcad Release 15.0 and DatecodeM045Hi Team, our user (Roberto Vega) is facing an issue with the MathCAD software—the input boxes are misaligned with the format, and input information cannot be entered properly. The user tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software, but it didn’t work. Please refer to the attached picture and provide your support to resolve this issue.
Hello, I am trying to build a Mathcad sheet to find pile capacity. The maximum number of soil layers available is nine (9). The user can choose to use all or, some of the layers within this 9. I am trying to build a logic to assign unit weight based on the layers I have subdivided to. The issue is if all layers are not being inputted, then the logic for unit weight says "Array Index invalid". Please help on this issue, my version is Prime 10. Thanks
My creo 8.0.4.0 just stopped openingeven after i open the reconfigure and after shut down everythingnothins workswhat could be?
Hello, I am trying to make a fix for a turbine with some complex geometry in Creo 10.0. I don't want to just sketch a shape and extrude it, but rather I am trying to get it to follow a curve. This feels like it should be easy, but I am struggling with it. This is the shape and that is the type of curve I want it to follow. What is the best way to accomplish this.
Excel function not working in PTC Mathcad.that cells are not being edited in ExcelExcel is busy: can't calculate. Make sureand try again in a few seconds.
I'm looking for a method to insert a visible date stamp into a wirelist so that a reviewer can quickly verify when the wirelist report was generated. This datestamp needs to also be present in the CSV so that the datestamp is available when the CSV is exported. A datestamp can be added to the footer, but this footer does not get transferred to the CSV file (screenshot 1).If a row is added to the table with a datestamp, this row is repeated between every line, which is not the desired result (screenshot 2). Has anyone found a solution for this? It would be ideal if the footer would carry through to the CSV but this does not seem to be an option.
Hey ptc community,I wrote this simple Java program with AI but since I don't know anything about Java at all I need someone to tell me why it doesn't work.The error message I get is:Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: C:\ENGapps\PTC\Creo 10.0.7.0\Common Files\x86e_win64\lib\jnicipjavamtz.dll: Can't find dependent librariesat java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load0(Native Method)at java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(ClassLoader.java:2437)at java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:2494)at java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:2694)at java.base/java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:2656)at java.base/java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:827)at java.base/java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:1888)at com.ptc.cipjava.initadapt.initadapters(initadapt.java:56)at com.ptc.pfc.pfcSession.pfcSession.<clinit>(pfcSession.java:33)at test.main(test.java:10)I also al
Hello All Depending on the magnitudes of the intersection drifts, Drift1 and 2, the supporting member ( support 0,1,2,..) might have a uniform snow load from drift#1 and an additional triangular drift from drift#2. I still have few "minor" issues. I have some questions inside the sheet-Prime 9 in red text. Thanks,Sam
Hello!I am running a model of a bolted connection between 3 parts. Since CREO does not allow the use of the "Fastener" feature for 3 parts, I defined bonded surfaces to simulate the contact between parts. I also defined non-linear materials in order to evaluate plastic behavior of the system. When a bonded surface is defined in CREO, the program automatically creates measures for the interface forces. However, CREO only shows the interfaces measures when I run a static linear analysis (ignoring plasticity). Is there a workaround to be able to see interface measures when running a non-linear analysis with plasticity? Thanks!
Hello All, I have attached a Prime 9 sheet. I am trying to calculate the uniform load on several members resulting from triangular snow load. i have included my instructions as to what needs to be accomplished. Thank you for your assistance!Sam
I am just putting this out there to see if anyone else has been noticing that anything that seems to check references, especially using "edit references" has become ridiculously slow in the latest releases (Creo 8, 9). In a 300 feature model, half of the time it can take up to 15min for it to display the dialog box with the references. This generally happens when there is sometimes only 2 or 3 references, and the CPU isn't even being taxed at all... generally 6-7%. My drive is an SSD, and the files are local; so I can rule out anything to do with the network. It just seems like a massive bug; amongst others ones that were introduced that have made core functionality a terrible experience. The reference viewer also seems to extremely slower compared to Creo version 6. 8 and 9 seem to be some of the worst releases with regards to core functionality in a long time.
The idea here is to give to the user the ability to turn off the active section while being active in another feature.
A 3D model of a wire mesh net (1539.5 x 177.5 mm, wire diameter 0.5 mm). The pattern is created using 60 extrudes × 512 extrudes (total 30,720)a. First pattern (512 instances, 177.5 mm each) I used "Identical"b. Second pattern (60 instances, 1539.5 mm each) I used "General".Whenever I change pattern options—switching between "Variable", "General", and "Identical"—the regeneration time is about 3 minutes. Is there any way to reduce the regeneration time from minutes to just a few seconds?Note: I can't select both patterns as "Identical", because this prevents me from creating cuts/holes in the mesh model later due to self-intersecting surfaces. hence, I had to choose "General". But now regen time is too long.
Good day, everyone, I am in the process of setting up and testing the Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX) for the company I work for, and I have successfully integrated some of our legacy data into IFX. However, I am struggling to import nested family table parts correctly. A bit of background:I was successful in getting our fasteners to appear in the screw dropdown (Metric Bolt FT DIN933 SS). However, the length selection was not available, and I was unable to place the fastener set. After some investigation, I realized that the family table instance did not include the length of each bolt. Instead, the file was nested by bolt size, with the length only available in the lower levels of the family tables. This led me to conclude that this might be why the length did not populate. I would like to know if the Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX) is compatible with nested family tables. I have worked through B&W's IFX training guide, which was very h
This is really 2 questions, both relating to text blocks in Mathcad 10:1) Is there a way to make it so hitting Space or Tab after a math segment in a block of text doesn't move the whole line over? In any other program, Tab or Space after text just moves the cursor over, not the entire line. I haven't figured out how to get it let me move the cursor over in a text block without it first trying to move the entire line and me having to go and backspace after I'm all done with the line (hitting Tab again will move it over even further). How do I get it to stop moving text/math that's left of the cursor when I hit Space or Tab on a line with text/math already on it? Example:This is how I want m = ¾a + b³ <Tab> to look This is what happens if I hit Tab after m = ¾a + b³ <Tab> and text continues here wi
New Mathcad 10 user trying to get familiar with the program before I need to use it for a new job, and I am getting frustrated with how difficult this program is to work with. Supposedly Mathcad is designed to be able to do a mix of text and math, but I am finding that writing text is agonizingly difficult and buggy. In text blocks, it's manageable, but tabs don't line up, it's difficult to stop underlines and bold (4/5 times can't just ctrl+u to stop underlining, have to keep typing then go back and highlight the text and ctrl+u to remove the underline. Same with bold), and it likes to add and remove new lines seemingly at random. In text boxes, it's almost impossible.- I typed an X and it jumped down to the next line all on its own- It did this again when I did a special character like Φ or µ- I typed something on one line in plain text, I hit enter and start typing on the next line and its suddenly now underlining as I type, though none of the other text in the box is
Afternoon All, I am currently working with a large assembly, and required to make sub-assemblies for creating technical drawings. At the moment, the only way I'm able to copy parts into the new sub-assembly is dragging each individual part from the model tree into the new sub-assembly. I have tried messing around to figure out a way to simultaneously copy all of the desired parts into the sub-assembly, but nothing has worked out. I'm sure there's a simple solution that I'm missing, can anybody help? Thanks.
