Hello,I used an angle to constrain a component in the assembly; the angle is assigned a random name (d58).Is it possible to change the dimension's name to something meaningful?The reason for this is to use a name that has meaning in BMX.  Thnaks 

I have an assembly that has multiple representations , am using Creo 8 and no windchill.I want to save one representation as standalone assembly without referencing main assembly. Below is the workflow I have tried: When I use above method , I get new assembly as per below image. I did not select dependent checkbox My question is:1. why does my new assembly has different icon?2. Why does new assembly still being linked with main assembly (see below image)  

How do you create those representations? If I create reps I can't change the colors. Only if I make appearances. But appearances cannot be set on the drawing... So If I set different appearance's on the combined state in the model it works just fine, but on the drawing it is not! How should I do it?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.3.0I was trying to measure the torque changes in spur gear for study purpose but was unable to calculate it using MDO.Is there anything that I am missing,I have applied Material as steel, all connections have applied with gears, a force motor to drive the pinion and another force motor with 0.000 coefficeint on the gear to measure the net load on it. the net load is coming out as 0. If any one have done this before then please let me know.

I recently switched to CREO 10 and the start_model_dir and template_### in the config file don't seem to work.  When I start a new part, with the use default template option picked, a "New File Options" screen pops up and my templates are not there.  If I browse, it goes to the "start_model_dir".  Is it going to be like this all the time?  This opens up the possibility of choosing the wrong template.  It leaves with questions: 1) Why didn't the new part use the template that is assigned in my config file when the "default template" option is chosen? 2) Why aren't my templates shown in the "New File Options"?  Why do I have to browse?

HelloDoes anyone know how I can get material to show up in a title block? I'd like to see the material assigned to a part in the drawing.i couldn't find the parameter for material.Any assistance is greatly appreciated!  

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM140we are trying to create a ordinate dimension but the problem is the dimension is not created from the actual witness line, is there any possible way to move the witness line using Protoolkit.

We have been tweaking our config.pro lately, adjusting settings which we normaly set by hand.   So one setting is the comp_assemble_start, which we have set at contrain_in_window. When adding a new component to an assembly, this setting will show a new window for that component.   But the component is not being shown in the main 3D window. We have to click the button "Show component in the assembly window while specifying constraints"   So searching for more config options, I encounter display_comps_to_assemble, which we have set to yes, but nothing happens. It seems like Creo is ignoring that setting.   Does anyone know how to fix this?

I need to import several STEP files exported from PTC Creo.Currently all imported objects have a very long name similar to this:63BA2014C78DEC881B086CFF8F77897FA0C680C8|:|B8A4396250C5687B1D31E70758B30729E1AC4426I did find this option "Over-ride with explicit user defined names" in the manual here:https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r11.0/usascii/index.html#page/data_exchange/interface/step_export_profile_and_config_options.html#I assume that would give me actual names when importing. Unfortunately I did not find any information on how to set user-defined names inside Creo. Any information on how to do this would really help me. Thanks

Good morning is possible to insert a family table file of an exiting profile in AFX?

I am trying to create a curve between two points(3D) on a surface that should trace the Manhattan distance instead of an Euclidean distance. How do we achieve this in Creo 9?I have already tried the "Curve through Point and Direction" option and it doesn't work for my case as it requires additional direction reference. FYRI would appreciate it if anybody could help. 

Does anyone have a reference , any link , a video etc.  on how to use parameter option as a variable selection in sensitivity or feasibility analysis in Creo BMX

Is it possible to import datum points  in Creo model  stored  in .pts format file using Creo Toolkit C++ Programming. Which functions and libraries can be used to import it. TIA.

I would like to create a parameter that stores the previous part number or name of the part that the part was saved from.  For example if I have a part "Gear1.prt" and I save as to a new part "Gear2.prt" I want to store a parameter when doing a save-as that says "Gear1".  That way users that perform a save as automatically have a history of where this design was made from.  It can be useful when going through a parts history.   I don't want to make it a type in parameter because users would forget to add this information. Does anybody have any insights into how this could be done?  

The Creo Parametric software is multi-cad. Which extensions does it open natively?Is there a document that shows this?

Hi Guys, Im running a simulation that is running based off of the subassembly sets of heat load and convection boundaries. For example:Assembly 1 has 1 heat load, with 7 conv boundary conditionsAssembly 2 has 1 heat load with 4 conv boundary conditionsAssembly 3 has 1 heat load with 3 conv boundary conditionsthese Heat loads and convection boundaries were added to the sub assemblies, the new assembly of these 3 has not had any additional heat loads added. how do i run a thermal analysis with all 3 heat loads working together.  It seems like the only issues are the 3 heat loads. The convection boundaries seem to run fine. It wants me to choose a single load set for the new assembly. It will not allow me to use all 3 load sets at once.  

Hello: I have several sets of constraints for a part, when I active ptc_constraint_set parameter , sets are displayed as per attached image , but sets drop down shows only one set at a time. Is there a way such that all sets available can be displayed under drop down for ease of selection. Thanks  

When reordering Model Tree, It is too easy to accidentally move part to subassembly (Can take long time to undo). Creo should ask confirmation when user clicks Expand All, because it takes so long with large assemblies.Actually I have never needed to use expand all, but i sometimes accidentally click it when i try to click Collapse All. Btw. why Measure -tool is so slow unless you use selection filter?

Hi all, My R&D department have a request for which I cannot find a solution .We are in CREO 7.0.2.0 and we want to show it in MBD. We can attach the datum to the surface, but not aligned it to the dimension (as per the following pic)How can we do it?The 10° dim is a 3D dimension from the sketch. ThanksBest Regards 

Some of us are on 7.0 and some on 8.0, but no one can seem to get the MIDNIGHT theme to load as default on start up.    We can get the DARK or LIGHT or DEFAULT themes to load, and we can do custom as well, we just cannot get the MIDNIGHT to load.  We have even tried loading the MIDNIGHT theme, then changing a graphics color in order for the menus to all switch to CUSTOM, and then saving that creo_parametric_customization.ui file in our start in location.   But nope... shows it is a Custom theme but menu colors are all the DEFAULT theme.Thanks in advance.
