Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have a part that I have set up with a gyroid lattice, but when I export it as a .IGES, only the shell of the part is exported. For background:The formula driven lattices do not create a solid geometry feature like the other lattice types, this means that it cannot be export (also means it is not included in any analysis like volume or weight). I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a solid geometry out of a formula driven lattice or if there was a way to export it regardless. I am using the student version of creo 9.0.

Want to submit an enchancement to add "Last Saved Date" and "Last Saved By" columns to the View Manager for the Simplified Reps Tab. They will help engineers see who and when Simplified Reps were last saved and not have to put that info in the Simplified Rep Name.

I know this issue existed back in Creo 2.0 because I've used the recommended work arounds in CS193596 to get a cross section to update. However, it appears to be broken worse in Creo 7.0. I have spent all morning trying to get a harness created with cabling to show up in the cross section but absolutely nothing works. I have tried creating new sections and new views in the drawing but nothing updates. Anyone have any recommendations on how to get the harness to show up in the cross section? 

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.9.0When I use Analysis / Mass properties / previewThe coordinate system displayed at center of gravity with respect to principal moment of inertia axis (1, 2, 3) seems not correct. For example, if I extrude a cylinder whose axis is not colinear to origin cordinate frame, the principal moment of inertia displayed is not colinear to the cylinder (when it should be)

Apparently, the geometry of a standard hole countersink is incorrect on a curved or round surface. The size I enter (which becomes its callout on a drawing) becomes the major dia of the resulting ellipse - but the countersink is to be measured across it's minor dia (ASME Y14.5-2018 4.5.13). I didn't pay much attention, but now with 3D printing and other rapid prototypes - it has become a problem: the actual physical countersink is too small. Is there an easy method or fix other than creating a plane and modeling a revolved cut in the correct orientation?

Hi all, OK, so I have a simplified rep, and I now have some welds showing.  (Floating in space)..  The parts these welds are attached to are both 'excluded' from my simplified rep, and 'quilts' are turned off.  Yet they now appear in my dwg / dwg view.  And I can't seem to turn them off.. The welds were added after the simplified rep was created, and also after we upgraded to Creo 9 (from Creo 3, not sure if that has anything to do with it..) But I have a dwg of some panels & their associated screws, and now I have some beefy welds floating around in the views.. Any ideas on how to remove them (and not do the 'erase line by line')

Hi all, Looking into a need where detailed construction drawing would sometimes be plotted to pdf on A1 and A2 size format by Worker, other times on A3 or A4. Going on paper size only is not a solution for differentiating contour line from the dimension line, as paper size can also be used for assemblies, etc. requiring other pen thicknesses. One suggestion is using different drawing format templates. Is there a way to connect format to specific pen table? Or any other smart solution someone already has arrived at? Pen table decides thickness.Pen table file can be pointed to in config.pro (if not storing in default location).Format neither calls for pen table, nor config.pro to be used.Pen table can also be selected in a plotter configuration file (pcf file)Only one pcf-file can be pointed to from the Recipe (.rcp)Would programmatic approach be needed (even possible to catch this?) on Windchill side in any way based on format? Using different Workers for differ

Hi, trying to understand how to get what I want.  While I have options, nothing seem to change when various option are chosen.. 1) I made a chain flange to have a nice flange about the 2 sides of an 'L' shape. It then makes the flange, and creates both a corner relief and a mitered cut.  If I choose "closed" I get a closed off corner, which is what I believe I want.  But it does give a bit of a weird shape on the flat pattern. It also gives a gap.  The end of the gap isn't really 'tangent' to the inside of the corner bend radius, which I would have expected. Now, if I have an open corner, the gap creates a little 'tooth' on each side of the mating mitered flange edges. (See mitered.jpg)  I then need to do an unbend / bend back with an extrusion cut to remove these "bits", and get a simple 45°cuts on the flat pattern.. (See miter 2 & miter 3.jpg..) 2) while I have options to vary the corner relief, nothing seems to change with option

Has anyone found a solution for making better welding symbols in Creo? The default symbols are STILL in Creo 10 just horrible.It seems that the symbol definitions don't support lines changing length automatically. So that results in either too long or too short elbows for the symbol.I think that is why the default symbol is defined with the maximum reasonable length of the weld note, which makes it useless when you want to just give a simple weld note:I found out that you can use grouping in symbol definition to hide or show parts of the elbow depending on whether the length of the weld and/or intermittency is enabled:But this solution does not work when the leader is on the other side, because you cant make the leader origin to change position depending on grouping:Has anyone managed to somehow create a GOOD welding symbol in Creo with modifiable elbow length?Or is the only solution to just create different symbols for different amounts of information: One symbol for simple note with

I need the procedure to apply the moment load to this shaft.  I cannot find anything on how to do this.  I even tried two different AI website to try to find an answer.  Neither site gave me an answer.   What features?  How applied?  

I am using the Creo Parametric 5.0.0.0I am using the ProTK Toolkit APIS to get the information from the model.I have a PVZ model where it looks like this model has facets data and no surfaces in it.To get the geometry data from the surface we use ProSolidSurfaceVisit which gives a call back to user defined function with surface as argument. I am trying to get the Facet data by using the ProSolidFacetsetVisit API, I am getting the call into the call back function with the facets set information and app data information.Can anyone help me to get the geometry data out of this facets set,Its better if I get a sample code fetch the geometry data within the callback function from Facets. I have attached the sample model PVZ part file. Thanks and regards.

Hi All,I have a sheetmetal part that I want to mirror and keep the geometry dependant, but for the mirrored part to exclude the logo feature.Scenario:Part1_LH is the original part is a left hand configuration. This part has the company logo on it with a 'L'  handing callout for the left  hand configuration assembly etched in to the surface.. Part1_RH is the mirrored part and is a right hand configuration, but the company logo and the L callout is reversed. What I want is to mirror the part and keep it dependant and have the logo on the mirrored part in the correct orientation. Is there a way to exclude the logo and handing letter from the mirror part function so that I can add the logo and the 'R' handing callout onto the mirrored part? I know that I can convert the original part to a solid  as a quilt, and mirror that part , then fill in the mirrored logo and re-apply the logo to the mirrored part but I want to keep the parts in sheet metal and dependant.

Hey, I wanted to ask if anyone knows which settings increases the distance between automatic dimensions. I am trying to pick the ones I need but they are just stacked on each other. I was trying to search through drawing settings and test every config named "offset" or having some value but couldnt find anything working. Cleaning up dimensions working okay, but I need to be able pick them out first.  

Hello, I have installed Creo 8 and choose to also install the c++ and java toolkit. When the installation is done, when I go to:   C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 8.0.1.0\Common Files\otk\otk_java, I dont have the library files, I have only the  otk_java_examples ,which have all the example files. But for  the c++ toolkit folder, C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 8.0.1.0\Common Files\otk\otk_cpp, I have all the library file and code examples..Did I miss a step for the Java toolkit installation ?? Thank you

After downloading Creo 10 student per the directions given in the instruction PDF, I have continued to get the two errors in the image below. The 1st error says "Creo Agent did not initialize correctly. Please contact Technical Support if this issue persists." which is followed by "Creo Parametric Student Edition (for educational use only) is shutting down because it could not run the Quality Agent, which is required in this edition. If you call Technical Support about this problem, report error 0x06000012." I have tried deleting/redownloading Creo-10, as well as Creo-8. I tried looking through the Community forums, but no luck yet. I didn't have any initialization issues when I first downloaded Creo 8 a year ago, and I don't recall "disabling all firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware software" when I did that download. For this reason, this error feels either new in general, or might have something to do with me already having Creo 8 previously (even though Creo 8 is comple

Hello,I have a simulation including a stationary body and a moving body. There is a contact between them. I often see the warning: "Excessive displacement at contact region". A software suggests smaller time step but I can not reduce it. The full moving process is described with 100 step and the software does not allow to define more...1. What does it mean exactly the excessive displacement at the contact? Is the time step too large compared to distance between two mesh nodes? If I increase this distance (element size) - instead of time step reduction - is it correct?2. How can I define more steps under "User define output step"?Thanks a lot your help;Roland
