Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi everyone,I am doing a drawing for a 6 cylinder crankshaft and I need to show Cross sections for all lubrication holes along the crankshaft axis. The holes are always normal to crankshaft axis, but at different locations along the crankshaft axis. Is there any way to select a plane which would serve as a reference plane to create multiple cross sections paralel to that plane but with offset dimension. Also, would it be possible to place the created cross sections directly below the parent view and show the cut position with a line (instead of arrows in parent view)?Thanks ahead!

I'm in Creo 7 & Adobe Acrobat X.  I do a Save As/Save a Copy/PDF and the PDF I get has really short dashed lines that are supposed to represent hidden lines, there not scaled to the size of the part.  This wasn't a problem in Creo 6?  Is there a solution?    

Hi Could somone please clarify as to how I can access the dimension properties. As I first go to switch realtions, and the click on the dimension, and then right click, there should be option there to access dimensions properties for me to change the parameter name but there is no option please can someone help me ?!   Note the the dimension change is in a prt.file  

I have been following the Get Started with Creo Parametric Modeling playlist to learn Creo as a SolidWorks user. The playlist was straightforward until I got to the Create Shell Features tutorial. Setting the shell thickness to 3.50 causes the feature to fail, and even setting it to 1.50 results in thin geometry being created.While I don't believe I've made an error, it's possible I overlooked something when going through the tutorials. I've attached the part file to this post (it's a Creo Versioned File, which cannot be uploaded directly to this forum). Version: Creo Parametric 8.0.4 student edition, Creo Parametric 10.0.0 student edition

How to do ultrasonic welding for two plastic parts?

I have a disc with a diameter of 120 . On the side of the disc, there are bolts arranged in an axis pattern. Currently, I use a 60-degree angle from the center to position 6 bolts around the circle. However, if I change the diameter of the disc, the number of bolts remains fixed at 6.I want to establish a relationship for the curve pattern so that as the size of the disc increases, the number of bolts can also increase in proportion to the disc size in the axis pattern. I am aware that for a straight line, one can use the 'ceil' function, but I am unsure of how to apply this to a curved surface.Please refer to the example pictures below. The last picture illustrates an increased disc size, but the number of bolts remains the same.  The last picture is the increased size but the bolt remain the same.

Initially posted in this topic   We are facing the same problem. We would like to add all bolts to ID100.. washer to ID200... nuts ID300... We are using the fix index method for this, but is there a way to do it automatically, I have created mapkey that export the table out, fire a script to create ID's , but how can i import/update the table on the drawing?

There is a circular face and I want to create a helical sweep (like a spring) from it. However, the origin circular face is angled such that it is not normal to the helical trajectory.  Currently using Creo Parametric version 8.

We are in the process of testing Creo 8.0.0.0 and Windchill 12.  My question is regarding sheet metal flat pattern representations and multi-user use thru Windchill. Our design team would like to design the formed configuration and put in the flat pattern rep.  They check this into Windchill.  Our drafting group would check out this model, do the detail drawing of the formed view, and then check these both back in. Modified parameters in the model used in the title block causes a change to the model and we're OK w/ this.  At this point the Adv Mfg Eng team would like to pull out the formed design model and create a new drawing showing the flat pattern rep with the overall dimensions and the dimensions to the bend lines.  These are created dimensions in the drawing only.  Sheet 2 would be a 1:1 view for DXF output. In our testing, the act of creating a new drawing and creating dimensions in the drawing has caused a 'change' to the design mode

Hi I want to use the values from a feature analysis that I have in a component in assembly.All feature analyses are suppressed when I insert the component into the assembly. Does anyone have an idea or a way to allow me to use the feature analysis values?Thanks,

The green line and the blue line are displayed together. I used the fixing move and changed the parts, but the line appears both before and after the move. I converted the file to STEP format, and the STEP file still shows the lines. I tried changing the layer tree, but both lines are on the same layer, so I couldn't delete one line. Please tell me how to delete the line.

The actual physical test is 7 mm and the Simulation Live analysis is 0.3 mm  

 I am using Creo 7.0. I have an assembly. I want to show the BOM position of a particular part in the drawing as a note. Can we extract that BOM position as a parameter in the drawing. So that whenever the position of that part change, it will be refreshed in the drawing too.

Hello   I'm wondering if it's possible to change the dimension points that are automatically selected when starting a new 2d sketch on a part. We are implementing some Modelcheck settings for multibody parts, primarily to enable generative topology optimization applications.  I know that there is a Modelcheck test to determine if a given part has more than one body.  Are there any other checking strategies that you folks would recommend to use for parts which have more than one body?  Thanks in advance...Barry

As per this thread - same issue    Same scenario for me.I found the parameter is created in a start file, after removing the relation am not able delete the parameter. Any solution??    

I am trying to automate the model generation of an assembly using Creo Programming. I am able to get to the point where I can read a file with all the inputs and generate the model. But after reading the file, I have to regenerate the model several times (almost 6 to 8 times) to completely get the final assembly. I want to automate the regeneration process as well. I am pretty new to Creo programming and I wanted to know if it is at all possible to write something in the code which can auto-regenerate the model for me and will give me the final assembly right after importing the file. Hello I'm new to CREO. My company uses CREO 7.0 even though I believe latest is 9.0.. I want to download and install MathCAD Express to be used inside CREO. Will the latest version of MathCAD Express (I believe 9.0) work inside CREO 7.0? BTW I added this to Simulation since there was no specific MathCAD section. Thanks

Hello, I know this has been discussed before but I’m hoping maybe someone can help me with my specific situation. I started working for my organization as an intern while in college, they happened to us Creo so naturally I downloaded a student version of Creo to work on projects. What came from my work as an intern was a product design that we submitted a patent for, it took a couple of years until they finally reached back out to me (I am now a full time employee with a fully licensed Creo 7 software) and they want to get more images and cross sections of the design. So we were able to find the designs however, it was from the student license and I am unable to open them. Is there any way that I can work around this problem just to pull up the designs? Or is there a way I can send these files to PTC to have them converted for me to work with this license? thank you for any help
