Creo+ and Creo Parametric

PTC is no longer able to distribute Java included in the existing toolkit.There is a replacement product called Creo Customization Toolkit is the C-language customizationtoolkit for Creo Parametric. It enables customers and third parties to expand Creo Customizationcapabilities by writing C-language code and seamlessly integrating the resulting applicationinto Creo Parametric. Creo Customization Toolkit provides an extensive library of C functions thatenables the external application to access the Creo Parametric database and user interface in acontrolled and safe manner. Dos this mean that Java API will be not available? No J-link, No Java Object?

Hello all,   Does anyone know visit functions that help to extract constraints information(tangency) from sketch to be used in Creo toolkit.   I searched toolkit  documentations.. there was no information.   My toolkit application  just extracts just horizontal and vertical constraints into XML, but doesn't pull tangency constraints..   Does anyone have idea. or solution to fix this..?      

Hi is there a way to break multiple overlapping witness lines simultaneous. Every time i have multiple dimensions from the same base crossing a witness line i have to spend forever right-clicking to break all the lines. Is there any way around this problem?

Hi all,   I am using Creo Toolkit to develop a Dialog and there is an option menu component. After I set the properties of the option menu as below, I can get a dialog as shown in the picture. I don't need to create Skeletons as I have an expert designer w/ the Advance Assembly Extension who will create it. But I want to be able to modify it. Move points and create planes etc. Is this possible or do I need to request my company purchases the AAE?Cheers. 

We are looking at purchasing a 3D scanner, either an Einscan HX or a Creaform HandySCAN, or even perhaps another brand (still looking).  The last time I used a scanned model it TOTALLY was a PITA, just this giant memory hog pointcloud.  We need to do this because we had things built for us by vendors many years ago....aaaannnd, stupidly, proper documentation was NOT part of the purchased package.  So, now, if we need to modify something, I have to measure it.  TOTAL PITA and not accurate since I have no way to measure except a tape measure.   Has anyone dealt with scanned models recently?  I know the software now is a lot better, actually giving you surfaces AS you scan so you can look at the screen to see where you are missing data etc.  But, are the files gigantic like they used to be?  How do the files work within Creo?   If we get it, I'll post my experience if nobody else has experience with these new scanners.

Hello, I have scoured the internet for any information on parameters and CSYS's needed for using solid model tooling in material removal simulation.   From the information that I have gathered, it seems that you create a parameter in each of the tools components named "VERICUT_TYPE" and then set it to either "HOLDER" or "TOOL" based on what the component does, and I am not for sure but I have also seen that you might be bale to set it to "INSERT" as well?  This parameter also seems to need to be set regardless if you are using moduleworks, you still need the "VERICUT_TYPE" parameter.You then need to create a CSYS in the center of an assembled solid model tool with the Z pointing into the tool and located at the cutting height.  You then open your insert (if using one) and create a CSYS named "INSERT" facing the same direction as your "TIP" CSYS and located in the center of the insert.  I have done this, but seem to have mixed results.  Am I missing somethi

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.1.02D drawings: how can I modify the line style?I would like to see the hidden lines as dashed lines insted of solid lines.

I'm  trying to establish our company's best practices for handling hardware family tables (nuts, bolts, washers inserts, screws) to national standards (NASM, MS, AS etc).  In these cases there can be several thousand part number combinations based on material callouts, finishes, locking features etc.   Often the geometry is the same for each but there is some attribute that is different that causes a change in part number (material, finish, locking feature type etc)   We have typically used family tables but these can quickly become unwieldly when every possible combination is covered.  However we don't typically use every possible combination of parts.  There are usually 3 or 4 bolt diameters we typically use,  5 or 6 different lengths and one or two different materials.   I see a couple of ways of managing these and I was wondering what best practices the  community have come up with.   Possible solutions:   1) Single level famil

Hi All, I am building a compression spring generic model, which I would like to have multiple materials available for selection. For example. Music wire ( ASTM A227), Stainless 302 ( ASTM A313) etc. In each of the materials available I have a user defined parameter "shear modulus" in each of the materials. In the spring model I have a relation which calculates the spring rate from the shear modulus of the material.   Example :  RATE= SHEAR_MODULUS:MTRL_570*(WIRE_DIA^4) / (8*AC*(OUT_DIA-WIRE_DIA)^3)   MTRL_570 is the current assigned material ( music wire), If I switch the assigned material to Stainless 302, how do I get the relation to update to the new material ID ( MTRL_407). If I leave the material ID out of the relation I cannot get the Shear modulus value.   Any suggestions on how to have the spring rate calculated from the assigned material would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.

Um gewisse Arbeiten zwecks schreiben des Berichtes auch zuhause zu erledigen, habe ich mir die kostenslose Version "Creo Direct Modeling Express" heruntergeladen.   Hier verbirgt sich nun eine Problematik.   Ich starte das Programm und eine Registrierung ist erforderlich. Die wurde damals durchgeführt. Ich besitze somit einen gültigen PTC Benutzeraccount. Und ich kann ohne Probleme starten und mit Creo arbeiten.   Diese Aktivierung des Produktes ist allerdings nun bei jedem Neustart des Programmes erforderlich und wird mit Zeiten lästig.     Ich gebe meinen Benutzeraccount ein und klicke auf "Aktivieren".   Im nächsten Fenster öffnet sich dann Folgendes:  

Hi, I have Used certain relations in creo 4.0 as i am trying to drive the dimension through excel so i have created relations in the excel which i tried to import in the creo and I also change the name of feature id's then also while giving relations between them i am having error like invalid symbols or the relations have errors. I have made simple assembly which contains 2 parts :- (1) part 1 contains the sketches (work as skeleton model) (2) part 2 contains the extrude (length of the box) & depth of the hole (extrude cut in the box) Relations are as follows: HOLE_SIZE_E=HOLE_SIZE_B:1 HOLE_DEPTH_E=HOLE_DEPTH_B:1 BOX_WIDTH_E=BOX_WIDTH_B:1 BOX_HEIGHT_E=BOX_HEIGHT_B:1 BOX_LENGTH_E=BOX_LENGTH_B:1   HOLE_SIZE_E is given to the part feature(dimensions) while HOLE_SIZE_B:1 is given to assembly relation   pl. can anybody help me to resolve this error...   Regards, Shubham Mehta

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 2.0 (connected) 2.0 M250Need support on creating Hose/Piping mechanism. Hose/Cable/Pipe should have movement along with other parts in mechanism.

I have made a 3D .PRT model and I want to show it in a 2D .DRW drawing, but using a non-orthogonal view. First, I create 3D annotations in the .PRT, using the "Annotate" tab and the "Show model annotations" command. It is important for me to project the dimensions in the correct plane, which I can easily do in the original model (see first image).   Then I create the corresponding drawing. Here, however, when I select "Show model annotations", the dimensions are shown projected along a direction orthogonal to the view plane (see second image). I have no way to edit the annotation plane in the 2D drawing.   Is there any sort of workaround? Hi Members,   I am currently playing around trying to learn CREO, I have done a little bit of inventor in the past. Although quite similar there are obviously some differences, I'm sure you experienced lot will be able to point me in the right direction.   The problem I'm having is when I create a sheet metal flange via sketch (please see attached example), it automatically miters but leaves the deformed area intersecting. Obviously this will create problems when manufactured.    Is there any way to automatically cut this excess material out via the sheet metal tools as opposed to manually creating a sketch and 'cutting' material away with the cut/extrude feature?   Thanks Heaps!!!

Hi,My Creo Parametric 6.0 license has already expired. I'd love to renew my license to some of the latest versions (Creo 7.0 or 8.0). I know that renewing will not suppose updgrade. I was reading about some tips like uninstall origin version and then install latest but some people have colissions of new license with old version and stuff like that...Is there a solution to renew the license but without keeping origin Creo 6.0 version (to have the newest one)?Thank you in advance for all replies!

I have been writing ProToolkit on and off for 20 years using C.    I have a 1991 programming education, so Object oriented programming looks rather foreign to me.    Can anyone recommend a training class on Object oriented program that would prepare me for writing  ProToolKit OTK?      Is there a point where we will be forced to convert all proToolkit  to OTK?    Thanks!    

Does anyone have experience exporting user selected quilt(s) to a step file? The workarounds I am aware of are rather cumbersome and I am looking for a streamlined method to use. Ideally I would like to be able to a select a quilt when exporting and have it sent as a quilt through the STEP interface.   The current documentation on the interface is severely lacking and has not been very helpful.   Assume the model has both solid a quilt geometry present.   The workarounds I have worked out to date: 1) Create two layers to isolate (via rules) solid geometry and quilts to prevent the solid geometry from exporting with the "As is" option in the STEP interface 2) Export quilts and solids as is and then use IDD to delete the solid geometry to leave the quilt behind when importing the STEP file 3) Export user selected quilt only as surfaces and stitch it together after import   #3 would work if the export was a quilt instead of individual surfaces.   Has anyone found

Hi All, I have a step file of an assembly, and would like to extract a geometric feature (a set of curved surfaces) so that I can create a model based on them directly. I have found a similar solution on the support forums but the post is out-dated and vague, and I cannot get the solution to work on my system.    more details: The copy Geometry button is greyed out, so is the publish geometry button.    Thanks, Nasim

We are in the process of assembling a very large assembly structure comprised of many Advanced Framework sub assemblies and other designed components. We have large drawings that are taking a long time to publish with CreoView Adapters. I have looked at the PTC University training modules and it seems that we would need several of them to get close to allowing us to improve the overall system performance of these designs. What I am looking for in the community is a recommendation of any training provider that can do a customized onsite class for probably 6 people that would incorporate the PTC University modules into a single 3 or 4 day course that go beyond the basic fundamentals of Large Assembly training. If you can give a recommendation or contact, either reply here or send me a PM. I will be contacting a few training companies directly (Boundary Systems, Tri-Star, Rand) once I get further information from management on what their objectives are for this training. Hi, Actually, I have to export all the 3D CAD model dimensions or CAD assembly dimension in to the excel so how it is possible through the programming as I have to this exercise repeatedly irrespective of the model (CAD assembly) so I thought it's better to write program for this.
