Creo+ and Creo Parametric

We just moved to Creo7. The multibody possibilities seemed very nice for skeleton models, because now I can finally make a skeleton model from multiple solid bodies. For using these bodies in new parts, I selected "bodies" in the "copy geometry - references" window This seems to work fine, but when I export the resulting part to STEP, the exported file is empty. When I select the individual surfaces in the "Surface Sets" menu instead, the exported STEP is fine. So is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?  

I am using Creo Simulate 3.0 M110I would like to perform a mechanical simulation on a part. I put a displacement on a surface and 2 forces on 2 different points.There are no other parts, so I didn't set any interface.I tried to run a Static analysis, linear, multipass, with the constraints and forces selected.It ends abnormally and say: "The design study terminated abnormally. The model is insufficiently constrained for the analysis. Please review the element connections, properties, and constraints. If this is a modal analysis, then you may be able to obtain a solution by requesting additional modes.The unconstrained degree of freedom can be seen by running a constrained Modal Analysis with rigid mode search. Animating the rigid modes will display the unconstrained degrees of freedom. If the error still occurs, then the issue could be caused by material properties or unattached spring/mass idealizations."But when I try to run the modal analysis it seems to freeze.What I can do?Here ar

Hello,  I'm running into some issues trying to pull part dims into a repeat region. I'm working towards having as much info automatically pulled into the to remove any user error from manually typing information and dimensions.    When I click into the repeat region and select asm->mbr->D1, it correctly pulls that info. The same is true for D2. Hi peoples ,   Iam sure most of you would have performed analysis on (ISO-15818) lifting and tying down using analysis tools. I would like to know how did you set up your model for tying down analysis in creo simulate. In real time for tying your truck/loader to trailer technicians will be using chain or rope, how are you replicating the same in your FEA thru spring or beam. Please specify the properties of spring and beam which ever you are using.   Do you run two load case for longitudinal & transverse or any other simplest way.   Appreciate your time and thanks in advance. Hello Community,   I want to delete a geometrical tolerance on drawing ; I don't remember how to do that. I can select the Tol Geom but if I delete it, it delete the dimension too. I tried in 3D : I doesn't find. Is somebody know how delete this element ?   Thanks

Hello,   I have a detailed view that I placed on a different sheet (sheet 2) of the original view (sheet 1). I am trying to add ordinate dimensions referencing my original reference (from sheet 1).    I found a very old post that said to expand the view, add the ordinate dimension reference, then return to the detailed view. Which I would be alright with that if I could figure out how to expand my view and then go back to it.    Can anyone help please! Is there a way to do this at all?

Hi, We changed from Inventor to CREO, now if we import a stp file (or an INVENTOR assembly) every part becomes an asssembly and every feature becomes a part, generating hundrets of parts and assemblies. We need to get the parts and assemblies as in our old drawings. So every part should be a part and every assembly should be an assembly. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Stephan  

Hello, I have a 3D Connexion Space Mouse Pro that I had been using for a few years now with Creo 4. It worked wonderfully, and I came to really enjoy being able to go to views with a button.   My office recently upgraded to Creo 7, and the ancillary buttons stopped working. The only thing that still functions properly is the 'joystick' portion.    Looking around, I found mention of ensuring your drivers are up to date (they are) and that the Auxiliary Application is loaded in Creo. This information can be confirmed in the Tools tab, under Utilities, Auxiliary Applications, Information. It should be listed, but isn't, and I'm curious if I'm missing  a step to have my space mouse function properly again.   Please help!

can someone please help me to figure out how to add a zigzig foreshortened liner dimension.

At some point in the recent past, Creo started having pauses or delays during normal working. Seems random. I'm in a drawing today and it lets me do a few things and then pauses for a few seconds. Then goes right back to where it was. I typically click 2 or 3 times thinking I didn't select right and realize its not waiting on me.  I'm on Creo 4, just updated to M130 hoping it would change something. Nope. Cleaned out my workspaces and deleted my .wf...didn't help. Cleaned out my working directory...didn't help Was working in a large workspace, so I moved my current drawing an it's files to a standalone workspace, 29 objects...didn't help. Disabled the 2 config.pro files and restarted...didn't help. I am working from home, it's the only other thing I can't test. I *think* it was happening in the office when I was there. We have a local install, local working directory. Some network connections in the config but I think I ruled those out when I disabled the config.pro's. Any thought

As a certified SolidWorks professional now using Creo there are a few shortcuts I miss, one of which is being able to open a drawing for a part from the model tree. In Solidworks you can do this with ether a part file or and assembly, but you can find the part in the model tree, right click and select open drawing. This shortcut will then open the drawing associated with that part without having to cycle through menus and folders looking for the drawing required. Is this something you can do in Creo 3.0 or do i have to make a macro linked to a hot key to make this functionality?Thanks

I'm creating a reference pattern of holes from a pattern of sketches. The reference pattern works fine. But when I go to exclude some instances of the pattern, the dots show up all right on top of each other and I can't distinguish between them or select any of them other than the first. They are all exactly in the same place, and no amount of zooming in shows any distance between them. Is there another way to exclude certain instances other than selecting the dots?   Creo Parametric 6.0.4.0

Hi, I'm using Creo2 for many years.So, I have my config.pro, my templates, materials...A whole folder with configuring files.I've just installed Creo7, what a big step !So I'm wondering if I can reuse my configuration  files or must I to modify them ?Any advice, explanations on this ?Of course, a lot of mapkeys will probably not work anymore.But, templates, setting, materials, colors... ???Thanks

I have a problem since Windows 10 2004 update; before this update Creo 6 was working fine, after this update Creo 6 isn't starting anymore. It crashes before the splash screen comes up; mabe anyone can help; the only hint I have is the traceback.log attached; I tried uninstalling and re-installing Creo6 without any success

Hello all. I work with J-Link application for Creo 6 and 7. And I need to create a simple dialog with list of string items and OK/Cancel buttons. Items for list should be generated before loading of dialog. And my idea was to create a dialog by Creo UI Editor, load this dialog during application work and load string data to list on the dialog each time before opening this dialog. But I have problem. I can't even load the simple dialog. Creo just stuck and not responding when I try to call the method which should load the dialog. What I did: 1. There is a folder of application, called "dialog". 2. This folder contains a few files - protk.dat, DialogBox.jar and "text" folder. 3. "text" folder contains "resource" folder. 4. I created the simple dialog "test" by Creo UI Editor and saved it as "test.res" into "dialog\text\resource" folder. 5. Also I generated the test.java file which contains some initialization code for this dialog. 6. After that I created a simple DialogBox.java file whic

When using Perspective View mode, I'm used to the eye center being coincident with the center of the screen. After upgrading to Creo 4 from 3 (though this may have nothing to do with the upgrade), I am now noticing that the eye center is not always at the center of the screen where it should be. Even within the same assembly model, sometimes the eye center is where it should be, sometimes it's off to the left, sometimes it's down off the screen entirely, etc.. I have not been able to find any built-in controls to move the eye center directly. Do these exist? What could be causing it to move around on its own?        

Okay, so I've created two holes coincident which have axis A4 and A8 as shown below. I want to add a flat end screw which will stop at the bottom, with the bottom of the screw being flush with the bottom of the hole A8, however when I go to 'Tools' > 'Screw' and add the constraints, it places a screw which goes past my hole A8 until it reaches the other side of my surface. How do I constraint it so the screw stops when it reaches the bottom of the hole?   I'm guessing Its me that's selecting the wrong things in the 'screw' placement settings

My program intent tis to create a Shrinkwrap of the current assembly.     I am using ProSolidShrinkwrapMdlnameCreate to create the SW.  And setting options prior to the function call as shown in the examples.  Export is working, but I need the Shrinkwrap to include a specific Csys.   The csys is a specific name.   So to my actual issue -  there are functions to set the options of the Shrinkwrap, and one is for including datum references - perfect!  ProShrinkwrapoptionsDatumrefsSet  takes for the second argument a ProSelection *   an array of Proselections.     Does anyone have an example where they have generated an array of ProSelection,  using a selection in which they generated from a geomitem?     (there are utilities in the Protk folder to find the csys by name and convert to sel)  I have that.     Thanks for any Help!
