Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello,   I've run into a Problem that I can't seem to figure out myself. I'm going to describe what it is I want to do first and afterwards I'm going to explain the error.  I want to run a mechanical Simulation based on a thermal Simulation. In order to do that I have a MEC/T Load in my Modell. This routine worked well for me for many Modells. However I came across a problem where I only need to connect certain surfaces of the model. I used the "Surface Region" tool to separate some of the surfaces. After having done that I defined a "Free" Interface for the Areas which I do not want to have connected. I've also created a thermal interface for the same areas with a thermal resistance because otherwise it would result in the "Some interfaces have incompatible types for structure and thermal analyses" Error, which is already explained in the support Article - CS95882. All,   I have a simple sub-assembly with a sliding mechanism constraint.  I want to alter/set the 'maximum limit' of my constraint using a parameter.  I want to test 2 conditions, one where the slider moves between 0 and 300 and another where the slider will move between 0 and 500.  If I could control the max limit with a parameter I could switch between conditions easier than editing the constraint.   Is this possible?   Thanks, Mike Creo 4.0

We have a very large assembly structure that we need to use as a background for an installation of sub-components. We need to show the geometry and be able to position subcomponents against the structure. One person is doing the structure and another is doing the subcomponent positioning. Neither file is in their finished design so there are daily changes to both. We want to show the structure as 0 weight in the subcomponent drawing file. I am guessing that we want to use copy geom over a skeleton or shrinkwrap. Do we want internal or external copy geom? I am thinking external copy geom so the subcomponent designer can control it from the larger assembly without the larger assembly designer having to do the copy geom update. Any advice would be appreciated as this is a time critical design that is nearing completion and the designers are clashing over their pieces.  

Greetings:In using Inventor/ Solidedge/ Solidworks if you have a hole in a pattern you can toggle from a  simple drill hole to a c'bore, tapped, c'sink, etc. very simple- very fast- very convenient, does Creo have this ability as I can't do this without deleting the pattern and starting over, which is inconvenient..  sorry very new Creo user.thank youFrank

Hello everyone,   I am a newbie of Creo toolkit. I am planning to develop a toolkit application to make some of Mechanism modelling automatic. I am not sure which tool I should choose, Creo Parametric TOOLKIT (C language) or Creo Object TOOLKIT C++(C++ language). My Creo version is 4.0 M090. Per my understanding, Creo Object Toolkit may provide a better environment of development, but I am worried about the support for Mechanism. It looks there is few functions in the C++ library for Mechanism, so I still need to call C functions if I use Creo Object Toolkit.   Could you help to provide any suggestions?   Thanks, ZR Liu

See image below:   The config option "display_dwg_tol_tags no" turns off the 4 lines for the tolerance tags however I also want to turn off the other side which shows: Scale Type Name Size   Alternatively since I really just want to export a clean image of a drawing, if you have any other way to create an image that can be clean, please let me know (I don't see any configuration options in the save as .png dialog)...?   Thanks, Lawrence

For cut out in boolen opertion must we need two solid bodies? Can we do this from cutting surface body from solid one. I have one surface model & I want to cut out from solid ? is it possible?   Attached file is my query.   I want to cut that surface part from solid part in assembly. so that that will create die of that surface part . and I have only that surface part and I cant convert that into solid. if I have both solid part then I can do this. but because of having one surface and one solid I'm unable to do this.   could anyone pls suggest solution? 

Hello everybody, I was testing some files with pattern tables linked by relationships and parameters in the Creo 7.0.1.0 release   If I go to modify the parameters DIST1 and DIST2 in version 7.0.1.0 they don't change and compare the message you see in the attached photo.   In version 5.0.6.0 and 6.0.4.0 everything does not work correctly.   Because? I am also attaching the model.   Matteo.

Hey there! When I am trying to merge two parts together using the creation method of "merged solid" using shrinkwrap, it seems to be missing. There are only two options; surface subset and faceted solids. Wondering how to get it back as an option?

ProArray allocated in the ProTkdllFunction like this:     status = ProArrayAlloc(1, sizeof(ProArgument), 1, (ProArray*)outputs); for the function's output arguments. These output arguments need to be free'ed once after being used.  The question is: How can the Web.Link caller do the ProArrayFree() or ProArgumentProarrayFree()? 

How to resolve this error. It happens every time whenever I try to create a new file. 

Somehow when I change the lighting on the model (change lightbulb position, intensity) it doen't update the values to the drawing. Is it possible to insert the same values to the drawin view? And how canit be done?   lightning situation in Model View   inserted iso view on drawing

I would appreciate some insight from those of you that have experience with the importing of native NX data into Creo.  I have a native NX assembly at one time I was able to successfully import into Creo 6.  Unfortunately, I am now required to go backwards to Creo 4 due to customer requirements.     When I attempt to import into Creo 4 it imports an empty assembly showing only a import feature.  It doesn't bring in any of the components or sub-assemblies.   Naturally, my next step was to attempt re-importing the native NX assembly using Creo 6 again attempting identify if the version change was the root cause.  Much to my surprise, I am now getting the same result as list above in Creo 4.  Needless to say this is maddening. It was successfully imported previously in Creo 6. Now I am getting different behavior. I am unable to identify what has changed.   Does anyone have first hand experience with this type of phenomenon using the import

Workflow for creating a Measure Step and a Verification Step in PRO/CCM to verify a Geometric Tolerance of Cylindricity    

I am trying to create a harness model in Creo 4.0. The issue I am having is that I cannot select the harness option when creating a new part. I just updated my license, so that should be fine. It seems like the only way to create a harness is though the part selection. Attached is a picture of what I am seeing. This does not seem to be an issue other people are having. Any help would be appreciated. 

Hi. Does anyone know of a way to simulate gas springs in Mechanism analyses in Creo? I can do regular springs, with a spring constant, but how can I model a gas spring with force and progressivity values? Do I recalculate these values into a spring constant and a relaxed length, and will this even be accurate? Anyone know of a guide or equation to use for this? I'd love to do it in Creo relations so I can optimize on the actual gas spring values.

For PDF there's a documented way how to use options: var expInstructions = pfcCreate("pfcDXFExportInstructions").Create(); var expInstructions = pfcCreate("pfcPDFExportInstructions").Create(); var pdfOptions = pfcCreate("pfcPDFOptions"); ... expInstructions.Options = pdfOptions; But for DXF (pfcExport2DOption) can't find a way to pass options to export instructions.

Good evening,does anyone know how to use ProSelect() to let the user select a cylinder's silhouette edge on a drawing?Imy application the user should be able to select two points on solidgeometry - then I create a broken view with ProDrawingViewBrokenVisibleAreaSet(). If I pass "point" or "axis" as filter string (first argument) to ProSelect() everything works fine. I want the user to be able to select a solid edge - that works if we are talking about a "sharp" edge. I cannot select a silhouette edge with Toolkit. Is that right? I'm fairly new to Creo and having difficulty removing a datum from one of my drawings.  What appears to be happening is the feature that it was tied to is no longer there.  So, now I'm unable to select it to delete it, or tie it to a new feature.  The datum is just dangling in space.  See below.  Any ideas on how to remove it?

Have a piece of hardware that is used dozens of times in an assembly and will only allow me to replace it with a family table member, is there a way to be able to replace it with a "Non-Related" component?

As the title,how to export a asm. file to step file with section view?because use extrude to cut the view in assembly file needs take a long time to calculate,if use section view will be convenient.

I was adding a few icons to the mini-toolbar and saved creo_parametric_customization.ui Now the mini-toolbar does not show up anymore when I left-click anything. The little window only shows up when I right-click (a long time). using a backup of "creo_parametric_customization.ui" does not help. Is there a way to get the mini-toolbar back? Im using Creo 5.0.2.0
