I'm looking for some advice. It seems that ProDrawingFromTemplateCreate() does not allow for the use of a simplified representation to be utilized to create a new drawing (resulting in the drawing being created with 'master'). I want to avoid loading 'master' into a newly created drawing. How are others working around this limitation? I'm considering this approach:- Supply ProDrawingFromTemplateCreate() with a temporary empty assembly model to create drawing- Use ProDrawingAsmsimprepAdd() to add a preselected simp rep to the drawing- Delete the temporary assembly from the drawing. Thoughts?

I have a network drive where CREO is configured, when I try to open it, it gives me an error that it can't save or open, the folder is allowed to save, delete, and create.

How can AFX (framework) use predefined parameters for the automatic component drawing function?

Hello forum members,I am using Creo Parametric 10.0.7.0 together with Creoson and Python to create a (more or less) fluid animation. In the files you can look at my code.My problem here is that whenever the value for the parameter is set and the regeneration is done the view changes so that the assembly is centered in the middle. Does anyone know how to do something against that?I'm grateful for every bit of help, thank you. Kind regards

I opened (Unite) in Parametric, using files from Direct Modeling. I have a Windchill connection. I made a simulation with that file in Creo and now I want to save the analysis file (MRS and MMA) as an attachment in the CAD file or have a connection to clearly show that there is a link. Does anyone know a configuration setting for this?

Hi!Using Creo Parametric 9.0.8.0. When creating a dxf file from a part, there are often broken lines created that make it a hassle for our manufacturing team to program. A solution I found was to reduce the relative part accuracy of the part below the default value creo set (0.0012). I'm struggling to find a setting or config option to have the relative part accuracy set at a value automatically. I'm open to other solutions as well if anyone else has had this problem.  Thanks!

I am using the Java API pfcModel.Model.Rename to rename Creo models (e.g., .prt, .asm, .drw) after importing them into the active workspace. While the renaming operation itself is successful—the renamed models appear correctly in the workspace—the issue is that the original models (with their original names) are still retained in the workspace alongside the renamed ones.  The workspace ends up containing both the old and new versions of the same model, effectively duplicating them. When I try to remove old objects it gives error - This is because there is some dependency. The objects cannot be removed without parent object. I would like to understand:Is this behavior expected from Model.Rename()?How can I ensure that only the renamed model remains in the workspace and the original (pre-rename) model is completely removed?Also, if I try to remove - how do I deal with dependencies? 

Hello, I'm updating a Creo Toolkit application and I need to verify the current object lifecycle state in windchill so the application can decide the modifications to be done on the object (assembly).Is there an API defined in Creo Toolkit which can allow me to get the object attributes defined in Windchill? I noticed there is a method called ProServerObjectIsModified under the Server Operations section within the Data Management: Windchill Operations topic, but it doesn't return information related to the lifecycle state. I'm working with Creo 9.0.6.0. Thanks.

In Creo 10.0.5.0, the requirement is to code which  iterates through models, and finds a specific component based on its file name. It then updates or creates a specified parameter within that component with a given value of any data type - using VB Apis, although I am using :_parOwner.GetParam(paramName).SetScaledValue(valuePar, Nothing)I am still unsuccessful.

Hello Everyone, I am developing a J-Link tool the requirement is to execute the tool on every save of the model. I have implemented this on session objection performing session.AddActionListener but this is resulting into clearing undo/redo stack into session. Looking for better option to keep the track on undo\redo stack and tool should run on every model save. Thanks in advanceSwapnil

Hi,  See the picture here. We often have a feature parameter in an assembly. That can avoid assigning different parameter for the same components in different assemblies. Very often we need to change the value of this parameter. I am trying to write a vb.net code to automate the process but cannot find the proper interface, method or function to perform this task. Can anyone share a hint? Thanks 

Description :How to load a protk.dat in Creo parametric, if the protk.dat file is at a user defined location without editing the config.pro fileUse Case -I have protk.dat file located at C:\temp & would like to load this application in Creo whenever it is launched.Also, without copying the .dat file to the <Creo load point>/Common Files/text.Tried setting up Environment variable "HOME" pointing to C:\temp, but it is not working. Thanks.

Hello Everybody, Im currently trying to automate the export of dxf files for laser cutting. We just use a seperate sheet in the parts drawing file with a single view of the unfolded sheet part. We always name this sheet "Laser".Now in VB, I want to search the sheets in the drawing for the one named "Laser" to identify the right sheet to export as dxf, but I cant find any class or variable in the API to get the sheets names. Does someone have an idea for this problem or knows a different way, to savely identify the sheet in VB? 

Hello,I want to delete only the suppressed parts from creo assembly using protoolkit.I am able to delete using the feature_ids with the function ProFeatureDelete(), But, it is deleting all the parts of the feature_ids I provide, irrespective of the status (active and suppressed) I want it to filter out between active and suppressed parts ,and then only delete the suppressed ones. Thanks and Regards,Disha

I am working on a project and would like to know if it is possible to access the images used when placing UDFs with the out-of-the-box UDF functionality. I want to place the UDF programmatically using named planes, axes, etc. However, if a plane, axis, or other feature is not found, I would like to show an image to help the user select the correct feature. Currently, I can place a UDF fully if all the named planes and features exist. I am looking for ways to handle situations where features are not found.

I am working with a C++ Toolkit program on Creo 10.0.5.0 that recursively searches through an assembly's parameters. The problem I am facing is when it runs into family table parts. When I attempt to retrieve the component features from a family table instance it only ever returns the components from the generic.So then when the code attempts to recurse on certain parts in the family table generic it fails because those aren't in the instance and therefor not in session. I have confirmed that the assembly I am reading parts from is the instance as GetFullName() returns filename<filename> corresponding with the instance.

I have begun evaluating Creo 7 and have noticed that any mapkey that imports a config file is creating flashing windows when executed. These same mapkeys did not cause flashing windows in Creo 4.   I have the config option  visible_mapkeys no this has no affect on the behavior of these windows in Creo 4 or 7 in the context of the mapkeys in question. Does anyone have any idea as to why the windows are now visible in Creo 7? Any ideas on how to not have mapkeys create any visible windows unless pausing for input?   This is the mapkey that is the root cause of the behavior. hi All  i want to write a simple code which exports an active model into a step file.  nevertheless, i do not fully understand how the ExportIntf3D works. is there somewhere an example where i can check? i think its no big deal for someone who knows what he is doing 😄

Hello,we are migrating from Creo9 to Creo10 but I have an issue with the embedded browser only when I open Windchill.When opening Windchill both Workspace and Commonspace, the browser resolution is very very small and vey difficult to read.   I've changed the DPI from the parametric.exe configuration but I either have this very small browser line or very blurred icons of the Creo software. For information I have no issue with the Creo9 we have used so far, same config, same DPI configuration, different outcome. Do you have any other suggestion about how to solve this issue? Thank you!BR,Giandonato 

I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.7.0Is it possible to view the contents of the buffer populated by ProMacroLoad()? Is it possible to clear the contents of this buffer to prevent execution?
