Kepware

We have a connection issue between KepserverEx 6.18 and Janitza UMG96-S2 power measuring device. The connection is working and the tags can be readed via QuickClient but during the reading the quality of some tags randomly switching from good to bad for a while. The strange is that not all of the tags quality switches and it happens randomly. Does anyone has a similar issue with a Modbus TCP connection?

Hi,We are facing with issue that we are not sending the data thru MQTT.On Kepware side there was no message that we are disconnected from MQTT.After several restarts of the Kepware IoT service, the problem was solved, but it reappeared after some time.We have openlogic-openjdk-jre-8u482-b08-windows-x32 JRE version installed on Kepware server. Thanks in advance.

Kepware dooesnt allow for logical/logical non-blocking protocols for rockwell PLCs, when accessing Program tags. This means that if an OPC client needs to access program tags, the PLC needs to be setup with Symbolic addressing, which really slows down the R/W rates on the Kepware OPC UA server. Anyone faced this issue?

We are running KEPServerEX​ as an OPC UA Client​ in a production environment to connect to an IGS OPC UA Server. The total tag count is around 6,000.The issue is that KEPServer frequently suffers from connection losses and reconnections, accompanied by socket errors. Simultaneously, when checking the tag quality via Quick Client (QC), the status shows BAD. Although performing a Reinitialize​ temporarily restores normal operation, the problem recurs frequently, leading to significant data loss. This instability has caused serious frustration for the customer.How can we resolve this issue?

We have a Mariocotta slitter HMI/Industrial PC. The mSATA hard drive failed on the PC. We replaced the drive with a new one, & restored that drive from an old Veeam backup of the system. When we restored it, the Kepware Allen Bradley perpetual license was missing. We have been unable to apply the license on the new drive. We are currently utilizing the emergency 7 day license. What is the normal procedure in this scenario? Our vendor is telling us we will need to buy a new license, but this looks like it could simply be rehosted since the only thing to change was the HDD (PC is the same PC). 

We have many channels and want to organize the channels in folder without affecting the Item ID for the associated tags.For example here, I want to have the ability to make a folder for the dryers and the PRD devices.The folder is merely for organizing within Kepware and should not affect the other systems. Therefore the Item ID, e.g. PRD0147.myDevice.myTag, should not contain the folder. 

I working on one of my projects. As per my application, I want to take data from DCS over TCP/IP into kepware. From kepware i want to publish those data over opc da for other SCADA/DCS that works as opc da client. My quetion is does kepware works as OPC DA server for this application?

Hello,I'm reading data from another application via an OPC UA Client on any channel in Kepware. I can receive notifications when the data changes. Is there a way to create notifications before the data changes? Reading at intervals doesn't solve my problem. I have a timestamp indicating when a value has been read. I want to notify the client of the same value when the timestamp changes.

We are experiencing inconsistent data loss between KEPServerEX V6.13.266 and our Atlas Copco Torque Tools. Hello,I have a PLC program which send the DTL from the PLC, although I can log the timestamp based on the SQL side, is there anyway to log DTL directly from PLC to Kepware with the new/upcomming updates ?

Hi, I currently use LinkMaster to map tags between my field devices and PLC. I want to get rid of LinkMaster and do the mapping in Kepware Server. I currently have Version 6 of KepServerEx. Do I need to update to V7 in order to use the advanced tag linked tags feature or is that available in the version I have now? Also, is there a way to just export my LinkMaster tags and import into Kepware or does it have to be a manual migration? Thanks 🙂

Data abnormalities occur at a fixed time every day.We have already replaced the server environment and also changed the database (MSSQL / MySQL). When temperature data is received directly, the values are normal. Using Local Historian also works normally.We have tried many testing approaches, and the current conclusion is that the abnormality only occurs when the data passes through ODBC.The abnormal behavior lasts for a few minutes. I use KepserverEX6.14 for linking Rockwell and siemens PLC's.We have 207 link tags in both directions. But we have troubles with 1 Siemens 1512 PLC when the communication drops (without voltage or network troubles). After the communication restores, kepserver can read the datablocks but CAN'T write to the datablock. The solution is then disable-enable tags, after this everything works like it should. My datatypes are boolean's and words (not defaults).There is a scan rate of 2000ms for PLC values. And the linked tags are written when input changes.I have tested with Auto-Demotion on and off (also with 'Discard Requests when Demoted' on/off) What can i try else?

Hi, I need to connect to KepserverEX 5.8 in a Windows 2000 Pro/Sp4 workstation with Ewon Flexy 205.The goal is using the ewon (in this case 5 of them) as middle point to communicate s7-300 PLC with Wonderware 8.0 using KepserverEX 5.8 as the OPC server. When configurating KepserverEX 5.8 channel i use OPC UA and configure UA server in the channel (see attachment 1) and when i try to import items on  the device to import the tags of the Ewons an error appear (see attachement 2).See attachement 3 for ewon configuration.Any suggestion to address this?

Hello, im setting up tags in Kepware where previously we have used RS linx, the booleans tags are all showing 0 when it should be a 1 and are not changing at all. The quality of the tag is good and its showing correctly (1) in RS linx but a 0 in kepware, anyone got any advice? Kepware server 7

I am trying to get a hold of Sales in order to purchase additional license options on my Kepware OPC Server package.  I have tried submitting a ticket but I received a "you are blocked" response to that.  I've tried calling but after being on hold for nearly an hour, it just disconnects me.  I mean, really?  I'm wanting to buy stuff from you.  Does PTC really make it that difficult to make a purchase?  Can someone PLEASE contact me? m.barnes@amrize.com

With the original KEPServerEX client, only one certificate is needed for mutual communication.However, it seems that a self-signed certificate cannot currently be reused across multiple systems, possibly due to the more complex architecture. Please confirm whether a self-signed client certificate can be used by multiple servers.Will **OPC UA certificates automatically renew or extend their validity period?If the client certificate expires, will it affect the existing system? For example, could it cause issues such as EAP being unable to connect?

Atlascopco PF6000 Open Protcol lose data when I connect to OT network.When I connect  PF6000 with my laptop using Kepserver Open Protocol ,I'm able to read and write . But ,When I connect PF6000 to my sever through OT network ,I'm loosing data one or two data's are working .Could you please let me know ,what could be the issue ?

How to establish the basic communication and R/W data ?

I have KepServer on PC IP 172.17.90.31 with Modbus TCP/IP Driver for Yokogawa DCS using ALE111 device with IP 172.17.90.30 communication. It seems comms is only established when Device ID in the project is <127.0.0.1>,0 and not with <172.17.90.30>,0. I understand this is due to ALE111 is Modbus Master in this case. I am facing issues where TAGs value are not accurately updating in some TAGs, but some are ok. I also have issue where the real parameter values in data type "float" always show "0" and do not update on live run. If I stop the KepServer service via Windows "runtime - End Task" and then restart KepSever project, the QC on initial handshake will display the last stopped value or stored value on the parameter TAGs, but on second update onwards, it will go back to "0" value and no update. I can successfully write to these parameter TAGs via QC and confirm the handshake with device. Can I please get support, if the Project configuration needs modification or Device pr

We have a successful connection from KEPServer to a Siemens PLC using Siemens TCP/IP Ethernet. The only issue we are having is that when the PLC is powered off, we are filling up the KEPServer event log with hundreds of entries per hour. . Is there any way for KEPServer to deactivate the tags while the PLC if offline, and re-activate when the PLC is powered back up?
