Hello, I have a chaotic graph with the x-axis ranging from 0 to 200 increments. I would like to increase the increments of the x-axis to 20000 without that affecting the graph shape.
Hi everyone. I have a little problem with an interpollation data. When i start to use cspline the program give return error "The elements in this vector must be in ascending order." Mathcad 14. P.S. Sorry for bad english.
Kindly refer to attached worksheet, need advice on how to show Tc(i) as an array in excel component instead of a scalar. Would also greatly appreciate if anyone can explain how mathcad component read Tc(i) and causes a value to be shown only. Thank you. [Mathcad 15]
In the attached file, the Maximise Function is used against an 5 x 1 Array and is manully repeated 5 times, using a different guess for each case.Trying to streamline the process, tried to do the five steps with a program but the program fails. It looks like the maximise function inside the Program is not accepting the Guess value assigned within the program and is picking up the a Global Value for the guess, outside of the program, different from the assign value inside the program. What would be the proper way to use Maximize within a Program>Thank youLaurent
Hi, I am trying to model a moving fluid interface in an annular pipe for a varying cross-section. My model is based on a modified Poiseuille equation. If I use a constant cross-section, then MathCAD solves my linear ODE just fine and I get results as expected. If I consider a varying cross-section however, then my ODE becomes non-linear and I'm unclear on which format MathCAD requires to solve this. All unknowns in my attached file are constants, except L(t). I'd be very thankful for any help on how to format a non-linear ODE of this form within a solve block. Regards, Alex
This is a follow-up question to a recent Mathcad 15 solution provided by Werner_E. I manipulated some control parameters and "converted" your "rainbow-effect" surface plot of a two-variable function into a nice-looking "contour" plot [see attached file]. How can I overlay it with an x-y plot of a parabola [shown in the second attached file] so that the vertex of this curve coincides with the contour plot [x, y] = [0, 0] and opens to the right [i.e., in the y direction]?
Hello, I'm trying to solve these three ODEs for cell growth, ethanol production, and glucose consumption. It keeps giving me either Too few initial conditions, or variable not defined. I've trippled checked it and there seems to be all of the correct multiplication signs and such. Please let me know where I went wrong. Thanks, Nick

The novel was written between 1928 and 1940, but unpublished in book form until 1967. Hella is a beautiful, redheaded succubus. She serves as maid to Woland and his retinue. Described as being "perfect, were it not for a purple scar on her neck" — the scar suggesting that she is also a vampiress. Reference to her arm will be clear later in the study. I am working on an electrical arc-flash calculation using the NFPA70E method. I have defined a voltage range (in blue) for the calculation and I would like to plot arc-flash vs voltage (this is obviously linear so it is not critical but I would like to know if there is a way to do this for future calculations). The problem I ran into is converting the result of the equation (in green) to the unit I want (cal/cm^2) over the entire voltage range (in blue). I can convert the result at individual voltage (in black) to the unit I want (cal/cm^2) but if i try to display the result at 550 volts (in red) it displays in kg/s^2 which is not the unit I want. I have to manually change the unit to cal/cm^2. It would be great is anyone can assist with this.
Hi, We recently added floating "Subscription" licenses to our MathCAD license pool. I am able to monitor the usage of our regular floating network licenses, thru the FlexNet License Administrator application, on our central network license server. But how can I monitor, or generate a report of usage for our Floating Network Subscription licenses? Thanks, TC
I`m trying to create function CreateMesh.f which works with vector argument but I met some problems EDIT: I found the way, but I don`t understand why the first one doesn`t work
Anyone got any recommendations on equation solvers for engineering? Based on experience, if possible. I use Mathcad quite a lot, but its equation solving is not as flexible as say TK Solver or EES. I used TK Solver 1.1 back in the day, but have hardly touched it in years. It was very good, especially back in the '80s. It was developed up to v5 by the late 90s or early 2000s, but then stuck there for nearly 20 years; I see UTS Systems brought out a new version, V6, late last year, but I didn't have time to get my head around it in the period of the free trial (work took me overseas for much of the last 6 months). Some of my younger colleagues used Engineering Equation Solver (EES, from F-Chart Software) in college. I find the trial version (limitations: max 50 equation, OK; but also no save or edit) does not let me test it enough to decide on its capabilities. Does anyone have experience of these and/or othe similar software; preferably in the same price bracket or
Hi, I met unexpected plot, how to interpret this result?
I have the following equation: I want to find the value o x, the others variables are all defined earlier on worksheet. After getting the value, how can I link this value to a variable? I am using PTC Mathcad 5.
Hi I am calculating the dielectric refractive of index. The data point n is 0..200 When I tried to calculate P0(n), I got [201, 1] in all the points and all the values suppose to be complex numbers like showing as Pw(n). Does anyone know what happened? Hong
I am trying to plot a function which is dependent on 1 variable. The attached worksheet calculates the required depth of embedment in soil for a cantilevered retaining for the case shown in Figure 3.11.5.6-5 of 2010 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Requirements. When I try to plot the solution for the required depth, the plot dialog reports, "Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaNs by real numbers." The function is defined in terms of real numbers and the root() function provides a solution to the equation. I am trying to plot the solution to see if there are other solutions which may be more appropriate for the conditions.
HiI`m trying to plot function on triangular area without success. Is it possible?
Hi, I want to write a code where for some vector [25 15 23 20 .. n ] i want to find if the ratios of the adjacent values exceed 1.2 of each other. The output result would be like "Yes" or "No". how do i go about doing that? For example: for vector [15 25 20], because 25/15>1.2, I want the answer as "Yes". But I would also want the same answer "Yes" if it was [25 15 20] because in this case also for the adjacent values 25/15>1.2. Thanks. Edit1: added "ratios of the" Edit2: added example
Hello all, I am wondering if someone can share a Mathcad file involving an extrapolation, any comments or suggestions are also welcomed. Thank you.
What latest version of excel is ok for mathcad 15_M045?
Why is it that whenever i type 1000lb equals to i get 0.102 (s^2/m)*kip, while i want the output as 1000lb=1kip. Why is it that I can't get a simplified answer in kip or something other than a fundamental unit including acceleration. Thank you.
Hi everyone! This can be a very simple question for those of you that are expert in signal processing. Suppose I have two time series y1(i) and y2(i) corresponding to two sensors, affected with noise and measurements errors. Known of course is also x(i), the times of the measurements. It can be assumed that the sampling frequency fs is constant, so that x(i)=(1/fs)*i. Is there a simple way to estimate mathematically / statistically the time delay (if one exists) between the two measures? For example the "human eye" could see that one signal, if shifted a certain Delta-x, pretty well correlates the other one. Is it possible, even if the two signals have different numerical magnitudes (say, the second signal is not only delayed but also weaker and maybe with a different constant term) Somehow I believe this should be possible using the correl(y1,y2) function but some quick tests that I made do not seem to work. Thanks a lot in advance! Best regards Claudio
I am using MCP 3.0 and I cannot insert an image. If I use IMAGE block and browse to my picture nothing happens. If I open the picture in another program and copy and paste into MCP it works but then the document will not save. I get an error "File type not supported" and a log file is generated. I have tried jpg. bmp, png, tiff and nothing works. I also tried it on another computer, 1 with MCP 3.0 and 1 with MCP2.0 and still the same. Any help is greatly appreciated..
Hi, I found that the user "ManuelOliveros-" had created hundreds of worksheets, however I can't download anyone of them. https://community.ptc.com/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/message/user-id/81422/page/44 Help?
