In these days, www.academia.edu shows me a lot of contents of electrical engineering. I am interested in one book, "Circuit Analysis I with MATLAB® Applications", Orchard Publications. The top cover page shows this circuit problem. It may be the best question of this book that Matlab can use to solve it. I try to solve this one by Mathcad Prime 10. I am standing Mathcad side. So, try and Challenge it!
Prime 10 I'm trying to use Mathcad's symbolic calculations, and it is not simplifying my expressions properly. See below for an example: if I use the full equation, it does not simplify anything inside of the parentheses, but if I separate that section out and calculate it as its own entity, it simplifies everything correctly. Why is it simplifying if I split it out, but not if I have everything together? What steps can I take to get Mathcad to fully simplify the full expression?Thank you
Hi I want to write a function for how the weight changes along depth. I have attached a worksheet (prime 7) which describes what I want to achieve. Thanks for all support!
I have a perpetual license to install MATCAD 15. But since the file was attached to an MSN hotmail email, it disappeared along with the hotmail. How can I reinstall MATHCAD 15?

Seems that the Product Code has been missing in several post here. Is there anyone, who has actually managed to get the Product Code?
Mathcad Prime (MP) 10 starts to become unusably slow after switching between Mathcad and other applications (even Character Map or its own windows (eg, right-click context or worksheet list drop-down). It usually manifests as unresponsiveness after switching back to Mathcad from another app. Mathcad will freeze, unfreeze, and then freeze again before resuming normal service. At the moment, though Mathcad is just cycling through freezes and won't let me do anything (including saving the active worksheet). It seems to happen quicker when I have multiple worksheets open, even if those worksheets do not require saving or have any edit actions that might need undoing. It happened in the initial MP 10 and in MP 10.0.1.0, but I've noticed it more in MP 10.0.1.0. Stuart Edited to add: My Dell laptop doesn't appear to be overly strained during these freezes.
Is it possible to call input from other mathcad sheet?Like in the first one we have the input and the second sheet has the equations. With out the need to repeat the data in the second sheetCombining/merging both of them without the need to repeat the data thanks in advanceYusra
Hi,I have an old MCAD 15 program I am finally converting to prime. Is there a short efficient way to implement those if statements in prime? That VP is an intermediate variable used further down in the program. Below is a snip showing the if statements. thanks, russ
When I try to run the program, I get this error message. The MAC address in the license file agrees with the network adapter 1 which is selected in the VM. How to fix?
Following @DJNewman 's message on the topic of implicit vectorization of range variable being removed from Mathcad Prime 10, I looked at the referenced support article CS416474. The resolution to the "problem" was to use a range-to-vector conversion program. Note that I use the term "vectorize" in the mathematical sense of "convert a matrix to a vector" rather than the programming sense of carrying out operations in parallel (e.g., Mathcad's vectorize operator). The suggested function Range2Vec is similar to one I usually use (vec) except that instead of stack it uses indexing to add new elements to the constructed vector. I vaguely recall that stacking is inefficient time-wise compared to indexing, so I thought it would be interesting to see how the two variants compared. Then I thought, "Hey, why stop at two mousetraps? Let's build some more to see if anything hits paydirt". So, I played with a few variants and conclu
Error message when entering PTC permanent licenseReboot attempt on wrong systemI have confirmed and the system data is correct, but the message continues to appear when entering the key
The bug is present in Prime 10 and Prime 9 (can't test with P8 and P7). Its not present in Prime 6 using the new engine! Prime 10 & 9: Prime 6 with new engine (FriCAS/Axiom) I hate to say it, but the very same example also fails (in a different way) in Mathcad 15 with muPad as engine, too 😞 Prime 6 sheet attached
Hi everyone, I'm struggling to write a program in mathcad ... I have A , C points each one of them has its own x and y coordinate as showing below... what I need is to. 1) compare the two arrays2) choose the nearest point in A to C 3) calculate the distance between the near pointsfor example if A1 is ( 2, 3) and A2( 10, 30) ...and C1 is ( 6, 4) and C2 ( 2, 7) .... the program will choose A1 for both C1 and C2 since A1 is nearer to them then it will calculate d1 =( A1^2+C1^2)^1/2 ,,, d2= (A1^2+C2^2)^1/2I'm using prime 9 Thank you in advance Yusra
Morning,I was using the free trial until the order was processed. The order has now been processed and I have received the PTC licence pack but cannot install it.

Hi Folks, The 'Chart Component' plot assumes an X range of -10 to 10. When I zoom in on a plot, it doesn't recalculate so Delta-X doesn't change. Curves are sometimes longer smooth (example below). It seems like there should be a way to recalculate a plot after zooming in, but I don't see anything. Am I missing something? Thanks for your attention 🙂 Mark
Hi, I am doing an integral in mathcad prime. The function inside of the integral is a summation of series of if statement functions and a step function (for loop). I plotted the integral twice (see attached figures), one with a TOL of 0.01 and one with a TOL of 0.1. However, the peak values along the graph are not the same at the same depth and I don't know why they are different since I am integrating the same function. However, the function stops at the same point (where the Moment is 0 kip*ft) at the very bottom. I am wondering why the peak values are different by changing the tolerance. Thank you.
Hi,Could somebody to say, why I could not write labels unit of temperature coefficient of copper
I need to create a list of solutions to a function based on tabulated inputs see the below not sure how to do this in Mathcad
Hello PTC Community,I'm currently working on a project related to heat exchangers, specifically focusing on an economizer. I've attached some temperature characteristic curves showing the temperature profiles for both co-current and counter-current flow arrangements. However, I'm having difficulty adjusting the axes for both the x-axis (distance) and y-axis (temperature) to improve clarity and presentation. What I Need:Guidance on how to adjust the x-axis and y-axis scales appropriately to represent the temperature profiles effectively.Any tips on ensuring that the axes align properly with the temperature values and flow direction for better visualization.Your insights and advice would be greatly appreciated!i have added a mathcad prime file and a screenshot from my book, Thank you in advance for your help!Best regards,Michael
Hi, all. I have just started using Mathcad. The problem below is driving me crazy. Any idea why it is giving me the wrong output? See below. I have also attached the Mathcad file. Incorrect answer:Correct output: RegardsCP
If you click on License under Options in Prime, a host ID is also displayed. I was of the opinion that this is the MAC address, called 'primary' by PTC, for which the current license was generated. But apparently there is some confusion here and it is a constantly changing fantasy MAC!!? I can't believe that this is intentional behavior, which is why I classify it as a bug. I am not sure but i think that in older versions of Prime the correct MAC was shown, the one the license was created for. I recently had to generate a new license and had it created for the one that was displayed. Of course this license file did not work. This was quite annoying, as license management is not exactly one of the easiest features on the PTC support sites and it took me some time and effort to finally move the license to the correct MAC.
Hi there, I have this plot which has ( x, y ) and A and B are points in this plot>>> I want to show this point in different colour and then draw the vector of them ABand then I have another x and y ( x;cpt , y;cpt different values) I want to show point C,cpt in the same previous plot then draw the vector component of AB and C,cptthe result should look something like this:not necessarily the same ,but I need to show the vectors Thanks in advanceprime 9
I have an input matrix from actual test data, where I have taken out 5 test dataset(Speed and 5 pressures), showing first line belowI now want to do some calculations, get all the differntial pressures for example : I know i can do like this: but it would be much nicer to display the result as a table with proper colum headers and units, how can i achieve this?
