Hello all,is it normal for the line style (e.g. centerline) to change when you place an Inset? Can this be changed or switched off? I have placed a bolt with screw and centre line on a DIN A4 page size. When I insert an Inset B, the centrerline style changes. In addition, the line style in the Inset (zoom) is completely different. It is far too small in this case, although it should not actually change despite positive or negative zoom. And if it does, the distances should at least become larger (and not smaller) with a positive zoom. The line style: Placing a bolt and a srew on a DIN A4 page size: Insert a Inset B with zoom < 1: Making the zoom >1: Can this behavior be changed? Best regardsRamon(Siemens Energy)
Hello all,I have the following problem:I have created an animation from 4 sequences. In the 2nd sequence (Step 2) crane hooks appear, which I had previously inserted from my 3D library. The crane hooks can be seen when running the CI-animation Step 2-4 ("CI_anmiation_Step-3.mp4"). The crane hooks are also visible in the video export Step 2 ("Video_export_Step-2.mp4"). But in the video exports Step 3 and Step 4, the crane hooks are suddenly no longer visible ("Video_export_Step-3.mp4").What could be the reason for this?Best regardsRamon(Siemens-Energy)
When opening assemblies from Windchill in CreoView, I frequently experience an error where some of the components do not load. They will appear in the model tree with a red dot next to the part name. There is no error message. The individual parts that fail to load can be opened on their own through Windchill. Also, when re-opening the assembly with parts that fail to load, sometimes different parts will fail to load from attempt to attempt. This issue has not occurred for any other user at my company and also does not occur for me when using other PCs besides my laptop. We have attempted re-installing Creo View, clearing the cache, and other common fixes. Creo View Lite version 10.0.0.0 Build 26Windchill version 12.0.2.5
Hello everyone The explode lines always protrude too far over the items, so that both explode lines seem to be in front of the item (see screenshot "before").I spend a significant amount of time to manually pull each end of the explode lines to a reasonable position in the 2D drawing (see screenshot "after"). I assume the reason is the white shadow, as without it the explode line would end exactly in the outline of the item. Is there any setting that can improve this situation ?I'm using Creo Illustrate 11.0 Thank you a lot in advance
Hi all,am I the only one who keeps losing 3D page sizes and line settings for callouts?I mean, I define a 3D page size and then create the 2D image. Everything is fine. But after saving, closing and reopening, this page size is missing. This doesn't always happen, but againe and againe. Sometimes more often, sometimes less often. In the same way, CI sometimes loses the line setting of callouts (white shaddow, line thickness). It is annoying. What could be so difficult about storing the settings securely in a database? Is there someone else havin the same problems? Best regardsRamon(Siemens Energy)
I am working on a new illustration. When I open the illustration and drag/drop my items from the sBOM to the Item List, it automatically brings the items in by CAD location (First Image). This oparticular illustration has 67 items. Our company does out parts manuals in numerical part number order, so I have to resort the list by Item tag order (Second Image). Doing so, requires me to renumber the ITM list manually as I have found no way to do it automatically. None of the options in the Item List tab / Numbering group help. I must manually change the number down to ITM #1 manually, which in this case will take over 63 clicks of the mouse. The next item will take over 42 clicks of the mouse. I will have to click thousands of time to renumber just this one illustration. Does anyone have any info on how to get the system to do a renumber by Item Tag order? It would be a life saver. I put a ticket in on this a few months ago and it was ac
Hi, in the what's new for Creo View Adapter 10.1, it is stated that:SolidWorks – Support Assembly Feature, Flexible Feature & Virtual (Embedded) Components for Windchill Structure Visualizationhowever, in our current testing, Assembly/flexible features seem to work well, but for virtual embedded components this does not seem to be changed or any better than previous versions. It says that there is no extra config needed, so I'm wondering if there is a certain Windchill version that is also needed? currently running 12.0.2.21 and Creo View adaptors 10.1 - maybe 13.0.1 is needed?
Is it possible to adjust the scale factor of the catalog items with respect to the sheet size? For example, I have created a block shape with A3 as the sheet template, Now If I wish to insert the same block into another sheet of different size, for ex A1, the block appears to be small. If there is any option to add a parameter which scales up / down according the sheet size, that would alleviate the manual task of creating the blocks for different sizes. Please help me.
Hi,when i am launching Creo Illustrate 8.1 the startup menu appears as normal. But when i click start nothing happens (Window gets closed). However, if i use an server with the license, it works fine.I also installed it on my backup pc and there it works fine with the file. So what i am doing wrong on my laptop? I have installed it for other people with exactly the same steps and it works just fine, but not on my device. I searched for a solution and found that you can generate a log file (also installed debug symbols accordingly to this post https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/illustrate/r9.1/en/index.html#page/creo_illustrate/install_config_guide/g_ttips.html# (Debug Symbos & using variables in troubleshooting))But i dont get smart out of it. Tried Illustarte 9.0 also but same problem. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all,Steve
Hello Community It is our industries requierement to add a caption to each illustration, to give information about projekt number etc. This caption is invisible when the CGM files are published as PDF (screenshot: "pdf from illustrate", compare to screenshot: "cgm in illustrate").The text of the caption can be found and located through the search function in the PDF but it can not be made visible. My workaround is to create the files in Creo Illustrate and save them as CGM - then open them in Isodraw only to save them as CGM again. With this extra step the caption stays visible in the PDF (screenshot: "pdf from isodraw"). It seems that Creo Illustrate marks the Caption as metadata, so that is not to meant to be seen.Callouts always work fine, btw.I tried several softwares to create the PDFs, so the issue has to be somewhere in Creo Illustrate itself. I am using Creo Illustrate 11 and Isodraw 7.4. Any idea how to solve this is very appreciated.Kind regards
PRO_JAVA_COMMAND variable keeps reverting to a different path.Throwing the following error when launching schematics"Java 11 or above is required for creo schematics to run. No supported version of Java was found." I have combed around and do not see the old version. Java updates are turned off. Seems to happen about once a week. Temp path is ok.

How can I see the total quantity of a component in Creo view?
Is it possible to transform and rotate elastic objects(pipes, harness etc., which possess elastic behavior) using CreoView MCAD. They behave like rigid objects when they are transformed and rotated. Can someone please help me by letting know if this is possible using CreoView MCAD or can we split the elastic part into smaller sub parts and then transform/rotate them?
I have tried many different export options trying to keep my grouping hierarchy in Creo Illustrate. But anytime I import an FBX file, all objects are just pulled into the root object and groupings are lost. This is not the case with some other formats like DAE, but the file size is to large for the pipeline I am involved in. I have prepared the FBX files in both Maya and Blender with the same results. Does anyone know a process to keep the hierarchy that I might have missed? Looking to save a lot of rework by finding a solution. (Sorry if this is in the wrong area, not exactly sure where to put a Creo Illustrate question, a mod can feel free to move or message me where to remake the post if needed)
Odd problem but here you go. I have an assembly drawing. We publish using default HPGL/2 format. Everything in Creo View 9.1 looks fine except 1 sheet seems to have drawing extents that are off. In Creo Parametric 9 its fine. All other sheets are fine, D Size and when you view or Print to PDF, sheet 2 appears scaled down and not maximized to the paper size. Very odd. When I've seen this in the past, its been due to a piece of geometry or sketched entity outside the field of the drawing border except we cannot find anything. Any other reason for this behavior? The drawing bounded boxes also appear inside the field of the drawing too. Sheet 1 above normal. Sheet 2 below not normal
We have P&IDs drawn as dwg files. Each object on P&ID is a block with attributes and corresponds to a part in Windchill. Our users view the dwgs in Creo View.I want to be able to select on a block in CV and have the user see the attributes and go to the website embedded as one of those attributes. Right now, when I click on a block in CV, it doesn't select the block. It selects the individual lines of the block and I can't see the block attributes anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas to make this work or what could be used to provide "smart schematics" to the users? It should remain dwg based. thanks
Hello Community, Using Creo View, I'm trying to insert a stamp into a model, specifically into a PVZ file, but I'm having trouble. The stamp tool button is always grayed out and can't seem to be enabled, see screenshot below. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it, so I can insert a stamp, as explained in the support article here: To Insert Stamp AnnotationsOn the Markup tab, in the Annotations group, click Stamp. The stamps gallery opens. In the stamps gallery, click the stamp you want to insert and point to the model view.Click where you want to place the stamp. The stamp appears in the foreground and the pointer reverts to a selection pointer. In the upper data panel View Content list, a corresponding Stamp entry appears. To move or resize the stamp in figure window, select it to display its anchor points and then perform the following actions:Move - Drag the anchor point shown in the center o
In these days, We are making a custom viewer using Creo View WebGL ToolkitCustomer want to see 3D model using Shaded with Edges render mode.Is it possible to set Shaded with Edges render mode using Creo View WebGL Toolkit?https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS338147There is no solution for this.Do we have a plan to make it?
I want to view a model as a wire frame with hidden lines in Creo View Express, but with black lines rather than the kaleidoscope of colours the model is in when I open it in Creo View Express. I've tried following the instructions on this help page:https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/view/r9.0/en/index.html#page/creo_view/visualization/shared/To_Edit_Color.html#wwID0ECMGS I've selected everything in the model .A Model Parts tab appears on the ribbon, but there's no Color tool on the toolbar. The model I'm opening comes as an edz file.
Is there a way to pan my view of the model left/right/up/down using the keyboard in Creo View Express? Is there a way to rotate using the keyboard? I've found out how to zoom using the keyboard (Ctrl + for zoom in, Ctrl - for zoom out) but panning and rotating escapes me.

Creo Schematics 10 and 11 crashes when trying to export a pdf of the design sheets. We are able to reproduce this in an empty design with two sheets. We have narrowed it down to the formats that we have been using for years. Creo Schematics 4.0 does not have this problem exporting with our current designs and the attached test design. The Event Viewer in Microsoft shows Faulting module name: DL180PDFL.dll, version: 18.0.4.3, time stamp: 0x62a673dd. Note, that PTC start template that ships with the tool does not have this issue so please test with the attached files. We are unable to update until this issue gets resolved. I am concern that this will impact other customers that have custom design templates (formats).
In Creo Parametric, it is possible to select the "seed and boundary" surfaces of any given model. My stakeholders are asking me to color in great detail for the media we create in Creo illustrate and it is extremely tedious because one must select all the faces individually. Coloring in Creo parametric is more ideal and I cannot control engineering who are giving me models with nonsensical colors. It is up to my team to color the model and we need the function in creo illustrate to select surfaces more quickly based on seed and boundary or like Maya where you can just glide your cursor over the surface to color them. Anything would be better than what is currently available to color at the face level in creo illustrate.
when I try to create a flat harness, with a multitude of wires stuck together, it places the wires in relation to the z axis. therefore, I cannot move my threads so that I can see them all in profile. How to make the flat position like image 2, I can move my segments in this direction
