I'm working on setting up some basic parameter -> attribute mapping in our system and would like to know our options for populating newly mapped Windchill attribute fields from existing model parameters. From what I've learned so far, a model/drawing must be modified in session and saved to the workspace to show a value in a Windchill attribute column (in the workspace), indicating propagation. Then, of course, uploading pushes information to the server side (with validation) and check-in pushes everything to commonspace. I also have to consider legacy data variability. While I know of parameters serving a similar purpose in past models/drawings, they are not the same and thus will have no association (still working that one out). There is also the issue of the correct parameters potentially not being designated in older content, which again, is something I need to see if I can feasibly sort. I'll take any information anyone is willing to share on these topics, but fi

I'm trying to create a drawing of a multi-body part, with a bill of materials table, like an assembly drawing. (I've created a multi-body part as it's quicker than modelling an assembly.) I've named my bodies and created a BOM table using one of the built-in templates, which generates a unique item number per line, but I can't figure out how to make these item numbers appear as balloon notes.'Create balloons' on the toolbar only seems to work for components, not bodies.Is there a way to make this work?  Or do you just have to create manual balloon notes?

Hi there,  Looking to alter a grids information in run time by changing a Boolean value to a colored block. Above is the mashup that I currently have. There is a column called online_status. That is a number that will either be a 1 or a 0. I would like to rather show a block that is green if 1 and a block that is red if 0 Is that possible with the current grid? If so how can I achieve this? Below is an example of what I'd like to achieve (I've blocked out information that may be sensitive): Hoping anyone can help.  Thanks in advance.

Dear PTC Team, I have created & modifed on Huge ASsembly file for one of my project. After couple of days, While Opening same Assembly file again for some modification, Creo 10.0.2 software keep getting crash. Do you have any solutions for such Crashes.

I was looking at the sample worksheet (PDF) posted on the PTC website and I created a (supposed to be) matching MathCAD Prime 7.0 worksheet. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Building-Structural-Design-Single-Span-Beams-Shear-and-Moment/td-p/450598  Almost everything matches the sample PDF results...the Shear values, shear graph, and maximum Moment. BUT the moment function and graph points are way off. I've skimmed over everything multiple times and I can't see any typos or errors.Can anyone see where the error is? I am using. Windchill 12.2.2.12 and PDMLink 12.0.2.7 I have an attribute defined at my Library context that lists all the business holidays for the next few years. I'm trying to create an alias attribute for a Problem report type that gets created inside the library. The new problem report should have the attribute shown on the details page and along with it, list all the dates entered at the library context. After saving the change to the PR attribute, I switch back to the details of a PR and refresh. The attribute name is shown but it has no values (which should have come from the context/parent). From what I've read, I'm pretty sure this can be done, but I can't figure out the proper syntax. Dear all, first of all: have a nice Christmass day! I fill my time in between visiting friends and family with some Windchill challenges:- One of the users reported that the Structure within Windchill sometimes does not reflect the structure of the CAD model. I did some research, looked for CAD settings like "Exclude from Bill of Materials" and eventually found out that 4 CAD parts were checked-in but where not associated with their Windchill parts. The Windchill parts are available. So it seems the user did not use auto-associate at first  ckech-in. Once found these issue's are easy to solve. But now I want to check all server data for more non-associated CAD data and make sure this can not happen in the future. And with these topics I can use some help: - how can I make a Windchill query searching for CAD models that are not associated to a Windchill part?- how can I restrict users from checking in CAD parts without associating the parts to a WTpart?, difficulty i

An electrical engineer that designs circuit boards, I’m a new poster to this forum and new Windchill user.Could someone bring me up to speed on a few matters?  Our WC admin guy, bless his heart, is a mechanical engineer and can’t fathom why my non-PTC circuit board layout tool (Altium Designer) doesn’t mesh as well with WC as his Creo MCAD tool does.I’ve been doing a lot of reading of Windchill support documents on PTC’s website but I’m still puzzled about something called Windchill Desktop Integration, which might be the basis for the questions that follow.First Question: When I click on a file shown in WC’s HTML presentation of my files  (what is Windchill’s term of art for this presentation?) I indeed get a file downloaded to my computer.  However, the downloaded file has a weird name like data(2).wcdti.Why won’t the web-based presentation of my WC files deliver me those files in the form (i.e. file name) that I originally uploaded to Windchill?  Does this m

This occurs when clicking "OK"  or deleting datum planes,  the Regeneration Progress window overlays Creo and wont let me continue. Solution is still to end it all through task manager and deal with the file loss. I don't want to run into this problem in the future when I'm working on something much more time consuming, does anyone know of a solution?Thank you for looking into this for me.

  I recently was requested is there a way to email documents from a WC container out and use client mail service? I wanted to pick our collective brains first, attached I made concept of how it could work? a NEW Email button?I notice WC has a email button in Teams containers so the function does exist. Right now our project leads are downloading files to a network drive so they can gather them up for vendor quotes, I believe this is extra work for them and we have a potential loss of data.And saving files outside on the network which defeats the purpose of WC. If files are shore on the network drive then who's to say the latest revisions can be?these files are in PDF formats to represent the drawings.we can not use desktop integration on our network any thoughts?

a) Does anyone have experience with the stability and performance of Creo Parametric on an Intel Core-i9-13900 or 14900 CPU? b) what motherboard and chipset is advised?c) There is also a chipset which supports ECC RAM memory.  Is it needed for a good stability of Creo ?d) Is ECC RAM needed for a good stability of Creo Simulation Live ?e) How is the sound level? The middle mouse button does not complete the feature (example line chain).  I was on Creo Parametric 9.0 and just downloaded 10.0 both the student edition.  It was happening on the tail end of 9.0 and continued in 10.0

How to get object identifier  of workflow object on windchill object in 11.0 Ver  ?if we just enter  a part / document number , we should be able to see workflow process assignment , creator details , etc .? what exactly is missing is the how to get object identifier of any process associated with the object ? since if that is done we can fetch other details probably .

Can anyone point out what I am missing?Thanks!

Good day,I've tried to start a session via web page (vuforiachalk.com) and this message appears:"Failed to create session. Please check your connection and try again".So, I executed the Network test, but everything turned out to be OK. I have tried to start a session from the Android app and with a different laptop and user with the same result.Is anybody else having the same issue? We are trying to convert Mathcad 15 files to Mathcad Prime 9.0. When we complete the conversion we have lost some functionality with the files, such as with control objects (radio button, check boxes, drop down menu). This portion of the files are removed during the conversion. Is there a way to convert these functions or can we purchase Mathcad 15?

I’ve been used to work with Mathcad prime 4 and 5. In those versions I could define a variable based on the output from the solve function simply by “:=” between the variable and the equation. That way I could use the output in subsequent calculations. I now have Mathcad prime 8 and this doesn’t work anymore. I can see there has been a change to “The new symbolic engine” in the versions in between. My question is how to define a variable based on the output from the solve function with the new symbolic engine? I’ve added screen shots of an example of the output in Mathcad prime 5 and 8.  Best Frederik
