Hello,I have a cross section of a radial pump rotor with radiuses which I want to annotate the standard way with arrow and ''R8'' written for radius of 8 mm.  I can do that to other curvatures, but not to to the surfaces made by  feature ''round'' that are made on vane endings.  I tried with ''show model annotations'' but there I can find these annotations being scattered elswhere to unwanted positions. Can not move them to cross section by ''edit attachment''. Whenever I click the curve that represents cross section of a round to insert ''dimension'' nothing happens- no dimension is written and no arrow shown. Same happens for any other similarly created rounds in this cross section. Despite round being defined as round of 8 mm, I can not measure it with ''measure'' tool. What is the way to annotate such rounds on cross sections while keeping them dependant on radius defined in ''round'' feature? Best regards!     

Hello all! I am reverse engineering radial pump rotor. I want to achieve a constant radius between pump vane and the ''casing'' - as if it is a ''round'', that fails if I try generating because of complex edge and surfaces. So basically I am asking for help/advice/past experience with how to make complex ''round'' feature on spiral-like intersection of two curved surfaces. I did it before with ''solidify'' of created quilts -but they were uneven and hard to change if I wanted different and constant radius along the intersection.   Thank you!

I’ve generated the drawing PDFs, and now I’d like to link all related information—such as design calculations, supporting documents, and relevant email correspondence—to the specific part in Windchill.The goal is to have a complete design history or data package for each part, similar to how it’s managed in Teamcenter, where all associated files and communication are traceable and connected to the part.What is the best way to achieve this in Windchill?Is there a recommended workflow or structure to ensure everything stays linked and easily accessible later?Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!Thanks,

I have an assembly with two components. Every components has a simplified rep with the same name; UDSR where one feature is excluded. When I create a simplified rep in my assembly, I can select the User Defined Simplified Rep, pick UDSR,  from each component. Works perfect. Now I want to create a rule-based simrep, where every component is loaded with the user defined simrep "udsr" in it.In the rule editor, I am on the Status Tab, selecting Display. Is it possible to search for a user defined simrep with a particular name?

Hello everyone, I am working with Creo Parametric 12.4.2.0 and I want to export a .dxf file from a drawing, using:File > Save as > Export > DXF I usually use a sketch or a solid from a .prt file and place it in my drawing to do so. This works perfectly fine in Creo 3 and 6. My problem is, that whatever is contained on my drawing, gets turned into a image, when exporting it via Creo12. So if I open the .dxf file in another software, I do not have single splines or curves anymore, I have one big, very blurry, image, as seen on top here:  What have I tried:using a solid part as a baseusing a sketch as a basetrying different dxf versionsdeleting layers for the export checking unit is the same between .prt and .drw export without drawing boarderexport with drawing boarder What I found out:creating the sketch directly in the drawing file returns a clean assembly of lines - but I do not want to re-draw my designs from the .prt. Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've been using the free version of Creo Elements and I have about five files in pk2 format, one of which is important. I now have a Creo Parametric license, but I can't import pk2 files. How can I transfer the files from one software to the other? Can someone convert them for me so I can use them in Creo Parametric? Why is the diameter symbol box shape? Wherever I dimension a round feature, it show this box as diameter symbol (and R as radius symbol). However, in a different drawing, the correct diameter symbol shows up but with bold font, which is another problem. I have waited for several days before posting for help. Which configuration options should be checked? Thanks. 

Hi,Creo 11.0.4.We use Auto Ballooning to some degree but I am 'new' to their usage. I am a bit sceptical regarding them and many shortfalls seem to be fired at me that is 'putting me off'. One of the main aspects is not being able to use Auto Balloons with Simplified Rep Views in a drawing. I have been using Simplified Reps extensively over many years and ballooning using a basic symbology method. Simplified Reps has been a standard basic functionality tool within Creo for many years and I find it difficult to accept that PTC have not enabled Auto Ballooning to be possible in conjunction with Simplified Reps in a drawing. IS THIS STILL TRUE???

Hi all,I am trying to automate PDF creation with Distributed Batch, and it works fine for parts only. Assemblies are failing, because of: "[-4] Error: Incomplete input data."I understand, the problem is missing files, because some parts (supplier components) are placed in another location. My config.pro contains all the search_paths needed for this, and it is already added to the DSM Configuration Files tab; but apparently it still doesn't work.(When using Creo normally, the config.pro works fine without issue).I tried some workaround by running a macro first (changing the working directory, and regenerating the drawings) before the PDF print (chaining tasks in the TTD), but without any results.I also tried absolute paths instead of relative paths in my config, but also no success. Finally, the method described here (https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/error-with-distributed-Pro-Batch/m-p/278132) worked, but it is very tiresome in my case, and need scripting,

Version: Creo 8.0.6 I import EMN files using the GET_Data->Import function.  I also have the config.pro flag to use the 'alternate ECAD name' so parts are created with the actual part number instead of an ecad geometry name.   When importing, Creo will check the current workspace for an existing part of the same name.  If found, Creo will use the existing workspace part geometry.  This is useful for certain COTS parts like commercial connectors since the vendor models are often far more detailed than the EMN/EMP's prismatic geometry. Pre-populating the vendor's CAD to the workspace results in Creo placing the vendor's CAD during the EMN import.  However, this only works when the vendor's CAD is a .prt.  If the vendor CAD is a .asm, then Creo does not find the "part" during the ECAD import.   A workaround is to convert the vendor's .asm to a .prt file using a variety of techniques, but often there are losses in cosmetic

Hello, I am using Creo 9 on a Windows 10 laptop. The issue is that I am trying to add a surface finish symbol in the drawing, but am getting the following error message: "The selected surface is already consumed by surface finish sf1 as a restricted reference. Select another surface." As far as I know, I never placed a surface finish symbol in the model at any point. I only added them on the drawing side. I deleted sf1 from the annotations tree, but the error message still pops up. Looking through message boards, I found an instance where someone used Semantic Query to select surfaces with finish symbols and then clearing them. However, when I use the Semantic Query tool, use RMB, and select clear, the symbol does not go away and is still showing when I reselect the surface. Any idea how to remove this symbol so that I can place a symbol in the drawing.

I am working on a project where I want the size of the balloons to be reduced to less than the text size or close to the text size. I tried the min_balloon_radius and max_balloon_radius options, but they only allow increasing the balloon size because the minimum value for the balloon radius can only go down to 0, which is the same as the text size. However, I want to reduce the size to less than 0.Is there any option available to reduce the size of the BOM balloon that 0?

We just recently switch from Creo 9 (because of end of life) to Creo 12 and are having major problems when importing sheets from other Creo drawings into a new Creo drawing.  Continue to get random errors, but the most common error is "Unable to merge. Target drawing contains incompatible elements. Please contact Technical Support." Never had any problems with Creo 9.  I can open a Creo 9 drawing in Creo 9 and import sheets without any issue.  Open the same drawing in Creo 12 and try to imports sheets and after 2 or 3 sheets it starts throwing error messages and will not import any more sheets. Anyone else have this issue? Contacted PTC support over a month ago and still no answer. Thanks

My problem seems a variation on the one queried by the OP.  I want Creo to open in L:\Projects\Creo_Files instead of C:/users\Me*\OneDrive\Documents.  I am able to make l:\Projects\Creo_files a working directory in the environmental section of the configuration options, but that doesn't do it. I tried making the L:\Projects\Creo_files a start directory as a Property in the shortcut in windows 11, but that didn't work either.   What should I do?

Hey All,I am stuck, trying to rename some groups in my assembly file but it does not let me. Usually I can just right click, then click rename, or I can slow double click and it will let me rename a group or feature.I created a datum plane to just test it, and again cannot rename that through those means. But if I edit the plane and use the toolbox where it lets you name it, that works.So dont really know what is going wrong with the naming feature. I have restarted CREO multiple times and its been the same for a few days now.Anyone else run into this?

Can anyone help me with this issue? I’m facing problems offsetting the highlighted surfaces due to high curvature.   Kind Regards, Adnan

I want to convert part/assembly file into pvz file with custom proepview.pvr file, and i don't have a permission to change anything in "C" drive so i was planning on setting it up in a other drive but i cant find any specific setting/config... so is there any option available to set configuration for your custom recipe file??  

When I create a new hole in a creo model, is there a way that I can default to "Type - Standard" and also have the "Size - Thread type:" already looking at the correct .hol file? Right now it defaults to "Type - Simple' and "Size - Thread type: ISO" Thanks for your help!

It seems like the stock table does not consider AFX created plates, only beams. Is this correct behavior?Another thing I wonder is if there is any possibilities to export the stock length info from the model itself to a text format, so I don't need to go through a drawing to get this information?Thanks!Regards Yngve(Creo Parametric 11.0.4.0)

Hello Community, We have many parts that were created in an old version of Creo when there was no multi-body function yet.All of these parts have the color assigned to the part level.If I now change the material, the new material color is assigned to the body level.However, the old part color remains in the model.When I export a STEP file, the old color of the part is used and the new color of the body is ignored. Yes, I can manually delete the color from the part level, but that takes a lot of effort for each part.Is there a way to automatically remove the part appearance color from all parts?Or is there a way to apply the color to both the body and the part when assigning the material? Thank you!
