Hi,we have MathCad 7.0 and MathCad 8.0 in use at our school. MathCad is licensed from a license server. For both products a floating license is specified on the license server. We want to restrict the access to the license server as far as possible by a firewall construct. Unfortunately MathCad does not only use port 7788 when issuing licenses, but has many other ports that are necessary to reach the server.Using a live view of our firewall, we were able to track which ports MathCad needs to reach the license server.Unfortunately, the port is always different, so even allowing a small port range is not possible. We noticed some ports in the range of 48000 - 57000, but unfortunately all of them are always different. Sometimes some at 49000, sometimes some at 54000, since today some are in the range 56000.Is it somehow possible to limit the port that checks the reachability of the server or to fix it to one port?Error message down below.... After changing the port in the firewa
Hi community, We have a drawing template for our company which looks like this. The BOM table and Revision table are currently part of the template itself. Recently we released a new version of format. Upon changing the format to latest format for existing drawings some users faced some issue with Revision table (the lines of older table did not exactly match with new table). Post this problem now we are evaluating whether to keep BOM and Revision table as part of drawing template or add them as separate tables What is your opinion on this? How do other companies handle new format rollout? Any response would be appreciated Thanks in advance Regards,Prasad
Hello my friends, I was required to convert my solution which is based on the makefile in favor of Visual Studio (2019) project. I compiled and built my product using property sheets, but I cannot unlock it with the following message: "Unlocking this application requires option 294." I checked all the licensing, and it is perfectly OK. I found the similar case described in Article - CS274507 Error "Unlocking this application requires option ObjectToolkitCpp" while unlocking an OTK application even though the OTK license is available as part base license of Creo Parametric. The resolution of PTC is that works as expected and to unlock OTK CPP application user need to have separateFloating license option of ObjectToolkitCpp (294) license. The unlocking worked fine with makefile. I checked documentation and did not find out what is Floating license or how to use it. Any suggestions?
I am using Creo Direct Release 4.0 and DatecodeM040Hello We are using floating licences with a local server. We would like to transfer one licence to a local machine so the user can work at home without network connection. It is a temporary transfer.Could you forward a procedure to do this ?Thanks for your support
My calculations fall over when I change to inches. Prime 8 Used. Then won't work when I chage back to cm
Ignore the comment annotations. Edge opens PDF fine and looks good. Adobe looks like this poor quality below. How would you describe this issue so I can google a solution? anyone know the fix to render right?
When I was using Creo 4 I was able to modify the Parameter drop down box to include specific ones I wanted without having to go to the whole machine parameter box. Now that we have moved to Creo 7 I cannot remember how this was done. Has anyone else done this? Thanks in advance. What I wantWhat I have
Here a dispute arose.1. Is this closed curve (a phase portrait) an ellipse? The ellipse has two foci. How to calculate the abscissa of the focus of this "ellipse"? 2. Can this object be called a curve? The curve has a length. How to calculate the length of this curve?
On the mold flow analysis setup tab, I cannot see optional simulations tab which involves sink mark simulation check. I want to make a sink mark check for a part but since I cannot check this box, I cannot reach any results.
Currently I am using excel for all my design calculation. I wanted to know if mathcad is better and how is it better.
Set up program says that it cannot find the sw_license_email_95084.dat file. I cannot get MathCad to run! what do I do? I can email a snip of the screen.
Is there a config.pro option for the location of AFX template files? Since we have modified the files, I would like to move them to a 'common' location that can be accessed by multiple builds of Creo. Modelcheck files can be moved to a common location and I would like to do the same with the AFX files. Currently running Creo 7.0.7.0 and 7.0.9.0 and soon 7.0.10.0.
Hi, I was wondering if we can design a custom symbol in CREO where instead of typing variable text in dialog box, we can directly type the variable text in Annotation note itself: For example:On typing "&sym(TRIANGLE_1) THIS IS A TEST NOTE" I should get following result : And on typing "&sym(TRIANGLE_2) THIS IS A TEST NOTE" I should get following result : AND HENCE FORTH.... I have seen similar capabilities in other design softwares, was wondering if similar approach exists in CREO. Please let me know if this can be done, since I am working on an automation tool. Any coding based approach are also welcomed, since I have some knowledge on vbapi libraries of CREO. Thanks and Regards,Prasad
Hello,I have now tried to download and install MathCad on my macs virtual machine Windows 10 64bit but all stops at unpacking 100% and tthe nothing happens. The window just closes. I have tried running as administrator and all other programs install well but not this one.How can I finally get it to install?I have tried installing it from my desktop NAD even created a TEMP folder in my C:/drive and installing it from there but the behaviour is the same - it never starts the install-wizardHow can I proceed?ThanksDominicus
Using Creo 7.0.5.0 I'm exporting single bodies from what originally seems to have been a multibody STP that have been imported into Inventor and saved as an IAM file (Inventor Assembly file). I export these as STP and then import into Creo and then save again as PRT. Although a bit tedious it's still a lot faster than re-drawing them from scratch (especially as I have no drawings). Now, in the export procedure the part CSYS seems to stay where it originally was in the much larger multibody, causing my new assembly to have loads of free-floating CSYS practically EVERYWHERE (see first image). Not a huge deal for functionality, but it feels bad. 🙂 THE QUESTION: Is there anyway in Creo to adjust the relation of a no-feature body-only part to its CSYS? (see second image below) I've tried to just delete them, but that deletes the whole body.
Hello! I was wondering about Creo’s capability to measure the Second Area Moment of Inertia (I). I am trying to calculate the second area moment for a common vascular needle, which has a cylindrical shaft and a conical tip. I was mostly wondering if Creo is able to find the second area moment over the varying geometry of the conical tip, or if it is only able to find one cross section at a time. I have attached a picture of what the needle end looks like below. I believe this process would require me to integrate by hand, as well as utilize the parallel axis theorem to connect the conical end of the needle to the cylindrical shaft. I thought Creo may have some functionality to do this within the program. Please let me know if I can clarify my problem in any way. It seems like Creo has lots of capabilities to find the mass properties of different parts, but since I need the area moment of inertia the mass properties are not required and instead geometry is my biggest concern.
Dear Community,I have an assembly where some parts are moving and some others are fixed; I would like to calculate the whole mass of the moving parts only, is it possible? I would need, when launching the Mass Properties, to deselect somebodies and calculate the mass of the remaining ones.Best regards Stefano
Using Creo 7.0.5.0 I'm not sure how to explain this problem, but I'll give it a shot (I can't share the files, I'm afraid). I have a main assembly of a machine. This assembly contains several sub-assemblies. Two of these are the same assembly, but does have some interchangeable parts through a family table making them slightly different. The issue is that I can't change the parts on one of these without changing on the other one. In the main assembly I want to be able to show both configurations at the same time. See it as a car where you have one subassembly for the wheels with the same rims, valves and caps for all, but you want to replace the tires only on the rear axle. Is this possible or do I need a separate assembly for the wheels with different set of tires? Can I create a family table in the top assembly that somehow controls each of the subs?
I have a hexagonal lattice feature which intersects a flat surface at 90` I can add the vertical rounds to the lattice itself via the feature, but is there a quicker way to add rounds to the edge that intersects the lattice and flat surface? rather than selecting each of the bottom edge of each of the hexagons? There is approx 150 Cells in the lattice and its quite tiresome to add them all in. Other CAD platforms have intersection selection control, but i cant seem to find anything in creo, even using closed/partial loop or selecting edges by filter? Thanks
Hi. I have a question from a user who is experiencing slow performance when running Feasibility and Multi-Objective Design Studies. He says he can see that Creo is using very little RAM. There's a lot of info about managing RAM for Simulate, but I'm guessing none of those options affect running BMX design studies? Or will the performance of these be affected by, say, changing the solram settings? I'm guessing not. Does anyone know of any other settings that may limit RAM usage for Creo? Or perhaps RAM isn't the limiting factor, but rather the processor?
I'm trying to use the free 30 day trial. MathCad appears to open and work, however the XMCD file converter does not work. I load a file and click convert, but it says "no license" under MCDX status and nothing happens. I received an email with a license file (.dat file type). I followed the instructions to install this license but again nothing appears to happen.
I have a solver block with an equation and a functionFurther down the worksheet I define two ranges of values, x and Vb. Both ranges have values in the range 0-20. g(x) returns values but g(Vb) shows as I am attaching the worksheet and an Excel workbook which contains the expected results.I would also like to use WRITEEXCEL to output the values of x and g(x) but I can't get that to work either.
I have 16-bit TIFF images I need to analyze. But, it seems that Mathcad Prime 8 (and 7 before) only reads them as 8-bit. Mathcad 15 read them correctly to their full bit depth, but Prime does not. Does anyone know how to read 16-bit images to their full depth? (I also have 12-bit JPGs with the same problem, Prime reading them only as 8-bit.) Thank you, KK
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM110Creo appearance palette for several segment colors are have to configurate, we tried to set the .dmt file but the location was not fetchable, If any solution for creating the .dmt file and set in library it will be useful for different product as separated segment such like (Product 1 it contains several colors, Product 2 - it contains serval required colors for the specific product etc...)
