I could not find any article or post that discussed this specifically so asking here. Should be an easy one. In the process of migrating apps to a new install of Thingworx, this should be a common concern. So, we have moved over our Entities but now need to move over the data from the data tables. I have 5 that I need to move over but currently, I am in a rehearsal/test mode. According to CS393743  I should be able to select each, export the data and import to the new server. This fails to address anything about subsequent updates. Since I am in a test mode,  I want to validate things are working so I need the data but data is still being actively updated in production. During a Go live event, I will take the final extract and wish to re-import the data to this new instance. What will occur? I can see three possible outcomes: Import succeeds and all data exists in new instance (ideal) Import fails as unique entries already exist (bad) Data is duplicated or merged with p

Hello,We are currently facing a challenge with our MES system's interaction with the Kepware OPC UA server, and I would like some guidance or clarification regarding logging and troubleshooting capabilities.Setup:Kepware Version: 6.15.132.0Kepware ServerEX 6 with multiple channels configured for MODBUS devices.MES system is connected to the Kepware OPC UA server.MES subscribes to specific device tags, but values do not automatically update in MES as expected.MES is configured to read/update these tags every 60 seconds.Problem:Without any other client connected, MES does not consistently receive updated tag values.However, when I open the Kepware Quick Client (or connect another OPC UA client such as OPC Router or UaExpert) to the same tags, the MES system suddenly starts receiving updated values again.This behavior suggests that connecting a third-party client somehow triggers or "wakes up" the tag updates.Investigation So Far:We have consulted our MES supplier, and they insist that th

Despite the Runtime is still running, I don't seem to be able to use KEPServerEX Configuration to connect to that Runtime even though they are both on the same machine. By reviewing several articles, I'm convinced that there could be some hidden Config Client that is still holding on to that session, therefore I won't be able to connect to the Runtime Project. Should I restart the entire machine? or just the Runtime service? or both? 

I work with Howmet Aerospace, and we recently activated a couple of Kepware licenses for a couple of interface machines. Unfortunately, the local support mistakenly wiped those machines and repurposed them, thinking they weren't in use or something. So, we lost those Kepware licenses and cannot access the machines to transfer the licenses. I still have the request and response files from when we activated the licenses last, if that helps. I don't know exactly how to put in a support ticket.  I tried to navigate the site on my own and create one, but I kept getting stuck.  If you need more info from me on our product information, I can gladly give whatever you need.  If this isn't the place for this issue, I would at least appreciate being pointed in the right direction.  Thank you!

Hello all,I have a multi-row configuration table with two key fields defined in the datashape. In a service I need to get a specific row from the configuration table using the GetConfigurationTableRow function which takes a key and a tableName as input parameters.My configuration table key fields are fieldA and fieldB. The values that make up these key values are being retrieved from another step in my service and are being passed to the GetConfigurationTableRow. I am passing the key parameter as fieldAValue+fieldBValue (so the passed key is something like "valueAvalueB". This mimics the format of the compound key visible in a datatable mashup; the key value of the configuration table is not visible anywhere that I can determine. My service fails with the below error:"Error executing service serviceName. Message :: ProjectName.Manager does not have a key of [valueAvalueB in table [myConfigurationTable] - See Script Error Log for more details." The Script L

Hi new poster here,Im trying to connect a Turck I/O module to my KepserverEX 6 like the subject says, but I dont know whether that is possible. I tried using the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Ethernet as my driver , and selected the ControlLogix 5500 model for my device, but i cant seem to create tags for it.  Please advise, thanks.

Users belonging to a UserGroup cannot see data and Menus in MashUps.  The userGroup is part of a organisation. The organisation has visibility of all components within the project, including mashups, things, menus, and everything existing in the project.However, users in the not-Administrators groups only partially see the components at runtime. Attached is an example of the homepage: And this is how Administrators group see the same Mashup:  So, the userGroup don't see data and menus, but can see widgets, styleTheme and images.  For comparison, I tried to check the permissions of the image and the menu, which are set exactly the same way (I am attaching a screenshot of only one for simplicity):  Naturally, by adding the UserGroup to the Administrators group, they can see everything correctly, but this is not the solution.

Guess what I've been doing today. My latest one is when the installer tries to start up Thingworx service, this fails with the messages below. The installer then removes the ThingWorxFoundation folder so I cannot see what the issues were if it was a permissions issue. I am running SELinux but put it in permissive mode when running install. What's worse is that the installer build the schema for the MSSQL DB however since it failed, it did not like retrying the install since it said the DB tables existed. We are facing an issue in our ThingWorx environment with primary and secondary servers.The application log is throwing EntityNotFound errors.To resolve it temporarily, we added the missing Thing entity, which suppressed the error.However, this is not a viable long-term solution as we intentionally deleted that entity and do not want it to exist.Problem Details:We are unable to delete the Thing again — neither via the Composer nor programmatically.On attempting to delete, the application log shows an error: Unable to delete from DB.It seems the Thing is still being pinged or referenced, but we are not able to trace from where this is happening.We are unsure whether it’s an external system or internal service making calls to the deleted Thing.Is there a way to not to dig at the service/mashup/subscription level and still fix the application logging issue?

Documenting this since I did not see anything posted or in knowledge base. Installer kicked out with the following message: [06:55:31] Installing CINC... Installing Installer dependencies... I have gpgcheck=1 in my /etc/yum.conf which I think is standard or at least there is a STIG for it. Strange that this would report not signed. Its clear why its failing but I cannot understand why this was not caught, reported, written up and fixed by providing a valid signed RPM.

I am attempting to clear Thingworx from my VM and reinstall a clean 9.7 version. This is Redhat 9.2 and MSSQL DB (on different host). /opt/ptc folder was moved off. In Root home, .ptc_ccif was moved off and CINC was deinstalled. /opt/cinc has been cleared as well. Hi all, I'm facing an issue in my ThingWorx application (version 9.1.13-b1101) where the entire application becomes unresponsive when I rapidly switch between different menu items at runtime. It seems to happen when I navigate too quickly, before the current menu fully loads. The UI freezes completely and I’m forced to refresh the browser to recover. This behavior is consistent and reproducible, especially when navigating between menus itmes.Check All LogsApplication,Script,Communication but it should nothing.I would appreciate any suggestions on how to prevent this freeze or handle the navigation more gracefully.  

I'm using thingworx 9.6.2 is there a way to copy paste values on cells of a ptcsgrid widget ? in particular, I would like to select 3 consecutive vertical cells, copy them, and paste into another position

Hi all, Does anyone know if using legacy widgets could cause mashup performance issues or crashing? I have an old mashup that hasn't had its legacy widgets migrated fully that continues to crash randomly. Would this be a possible reason for crashing, with this message below? The only reason I haven't migrated is because this mashup visually gets changed significantly from the legacy widgets to new implementations, but I can't seem to narrow a separate reason that the crashing occurs and don't have the issue on any other similar mashups with new widgets. Thanks for any input!  

From the PTC Software Download page I can only see ThingWorx 9.3-9.5, but not any other versions like 9.6-9.7.  Why is that?

We are getting lots of tag from PLC devices (40+) to Kepware. Sometimes, due to some reason the connectivity is lost  between PLC and Kepware. So that we facing data loss issue. Is there any mechanism within a Kepware to address this connectivity loss? How to identify this connectivity loss from ThingWorx for all PLC devices?

 Hi everyone,I’m working on a UI feature in ThingWorx Mashup and was wondering if something like the following is possible:👉 I have a layout where a picture (or model view) is shown on one side, and I want to dynamically change its size based on how I drag a divider or a panel.When I drag the divider to the left (making the picture area larger), the image or 3D model should grow (scale up).When I drag it to the right (making the area smaller), it should shrink accordingly.The idea is to simulate a sort of "zoom effect" by using the container resizing rather than zooming through buttons or manual controls.📷 Here's a screenshot for visual context:(Attached image showing the mashup and panel layout with the drag area)Has anyone tried implementing something like this before?Is it possible to bind the widget size or scaling dynamically to container resizing in ThingWorx?Or is there a workaround with CSS or JS injection?Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in advance!

I am using ThingWorx Platform Release 9.7 and DatecodeF000The new Collection widget behaves differently compared to the legacy version. When the data connected to the Collections widget is refreshed, the entire widget reloads, creating a disruptive effect. In contrast, the legacy Collection widget does not exhibit this behavior. I have confirmed that the configuration is identical for both widgets in my cases.To clarify, the data is properly connected to the widget. One of the data fields is selected as the UIDField parameter, and data is pushed to the cell via the MashupPropertyBinding configuration. However, when the data source is updated (e.g., through auto-refresh), the entire Collections widget reloads instead of just updating the data within the cells.A workaround is to bind data directly in the cell mashup, but this approach is performance-intensive and not considered best practice.
