Hi,  I am really new to Mathcad.  I have a problem to find a "d" variable in constraint with L as the dependent factor.  The problem is, I want to get "d" with range variables of L from 0 to 1000 mm. So I get range value of "d" based on the L inputs.    Could we do this by that way with solve block?  Appreciate your guy's help

Hi,   I have been working on this equation and the worksheet works. Now I want to export rho_ms(w) and w to make a plot and be compared with the result from other program.     I have read about the vectorization process like in this https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad/exporting-the-vector-of-f-x-y-function-into-matrix-or-table/m-p/569400 and follow one of the uploaded file. But I have this labeling issue. What I understand about this vectorization is we need to change our range variable into an indexed variable. what label should I put for that index i?if I use w(i), it is ok, but it comes back to a case of range variable, doesn't it? I tried with auto and variable, but still have error while one uploaded worksheet in the link above use auto and works. maybe i missunderstand something here. I attached the worksheet.I appreciate the help.

Hi,   During integration with infinite upper bound, I found that the result makes me doubtful. Then I checked it by changing the infinite upper bound with a large enough number compare to other numbers in the equation. I got a more sensible result.   my question: 1. when should we not use this infinite bounds? 2. did I miss something here in my worksheet?    

Hello,   I need to find roots of a periodic equation by making initial guesses of x and assign the derived roots in "a". But, Mathcad is saying " the value must be a scalar". What does "scalar" in this case and how can I solve this?  I also need to sort "a" after assigning.   Thank you very much,   Faisal

I had to revert back to using freeware after hitting this snag with Prime 4.0... I don't understand what the difficulty is at step 5. Troubleshooting further down the page was successful after using new variables, so it seems to be a problem with my variables...   I even tried clearing the variables like my reference "Essential PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0" textbook suggests. Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting me back going...

Hi! I'm new to mathcad and trying to calculate some very simple equations containing symbolics and numerical elements. I know which answer to get, but simply can't make mathcad return the wanted result.   1/2 * cos(v) * p * L + 1/2 * sin(v) * p* L   I look for the result looking like: 0.67 * p * L   I tried searching for solutions for this but can't really find an answer, but it seems so simple that I can't possibly think that what I look for isn't possible?   Any chance there's an easy workaround?

Hi,          I am trying to solve the Kynch sedimentation process. For that, I need some help solving PDE with certain initial and boundary conditions. The objective is to get volume fraction (ϕ) in terms of height (z) and time (t). I am not really sure on how to go about doing this. It would be helpful if someone could take a look at it.   Thanks.

I am trying to solve a system of ode's that have gotten increasingly complex as I have added various effects. Everything was working ok until I made the last change (in attached worksheet, addition of the last term - in parentheses - in the expression for dp in the solve block). Now the worksheet does not even get past the solve block to the ode's. I dont get an error message. It just keeps calculating although I have left it for 30 minutes or so. The addition does not seem that complicated: the system is still linear for dv, etc. Did I do something wrong? Any advice?

Hi everyone,  I am new to Mathcad and I have 4 unknowns with 4 equations, each equations contains 2 unknowns, therefore all 4 equations are interlinked. See attachment for details.  My question is: I have used the 'solve' function to solve the equations simultaneously and am expecting the answers in a [4,1] matrix. However, that is not what Mathcad produced. Why is this happening and how should I solve it.    Thanks in advance.    kuay

I'm probably doing something silly, but I can't seem to find it.  I set up a while loop but it always finishes on the 2nd iteration, when I know fully well it hasn't converged.  Prime 4.0 attached. Thanks!

In ancient times, there were some routines/functions on the old collab that allowed plotting of general text on plots by creating appropriate x-y vectors (or arrays) which plotted as the desired text. I searched my collection of various routines, but  didn't find any. If anyone has Mathcad 11 versions of these, I would appreciate their posting.   Thanks, Lou

Hello everyone! This is my first post, I'm glad to be here. Let's cut to the chase.    I have created  an objective function  which has 5 variables. I gave 5 constraints. Probably a typical problem. But when i try to optimize it with the minimize function mathcad spent all night calculating it and it did not come up with anything. I am new to this, so probably missing the point 🙂 I will be thankful for any piece of advice.
