Mathcad

HiI'm a novice with Mathcad. Attached is a Mathcad file Ive been working on. If you scroll to the end of the file you will notice that there is ratio called Mp/Mn. I want to program this in such a way that "If Mp/Mn is greater than or equal to 0.3 then the result should be OK. If it is less than 0.3 the result should be reported as "FAIL". How do I have program this. Kindly advice.RegardsSriprakash

Hello,i have built a code for determining the eigenvalues for a vibration problem and plotted them. But there is something that i couldn't understand. There is no a value for eigenvalue-1 for s specific beta interval. What happens there? are roots complex or sth else?thanks for your help.

I am new to PTC / Mathcad V15.0 but am trying to use this great tool effeciently.  For my job I have solved a problem which involves 8 equations and 8 unknowns.  I have successfully arranged my equations to arrive at the correct solve block answers using the command Find as shown below:The output naturally provides numeric (in this case...complex) solutions.  Here is where I need help.  With the results I need to conduct additional calculations but it does not seem that Mathcad does not recognize the value of each variable...such as K11 = 0.21675 + 0.19125i.   Must I define these variables manually after the solve block or is there a command which  will link the output to its respective variable.  I plan on using the 8Eqnt/8Ukn solve block to solve for different givens...however, this currently means I need to manually set the correct result for each of the 8 solved variables such as K11:= 0.21675 + 0.19125i.I appreciate any recommendations.Thank

HiAttached is a Mathcad 4 file. Also attached is a pdf which shows the desired units (Page 4 of 😎 radius of relative stiffness. However, Mathcad doesn't seem to be in agreement. Kindly let me know where my assumption is wrong.Sriprakash

I need to find a way to use a vlookup function to find a value that is equal to, or greater than, a value.  I have a value that dictates the use of a certain size of a device.  The device size can be oversized but not undersized.  So if I have a determined value of say 5.5, device A is good for 5 and device B is good for 6, then I need to return data for device B from the evaluation.

Hey guys, I am attempting to solve a complex problem with rkfixed.  At the bottom of my sheet is where you will find the function.  I have my ODE defined with the variable "D", and when I run rkfixed it returns "this function cannot be used here".  I have been researching for hours with no luck to find the reason.  Can someone please help?

Hi there, need help, i have calculated values of L and R using rnorm function for 1000 intervals with the mean values and the standard deviation values of L and R. The results are in brackets so i assume it is a matrix. Now need to check when L>R and count, i was using if function but needs a scalar result and L and R are not, any ideas?

I am having trouble creating a template for use in Mathcad 15.  Specifically, I cannot get my text specification to "stick".   I go into the templates directory in Mathcad, choose the Griffin template in which I have specified my desired parameters, including 11 pt arial text.   Now, I save the template, open Mathcad click on new, open the Griffin template.  Everything works except the text.  It comes out at 12 point arial.   What am I doing wrong ?

Hello all,Tonight I am attempting the below problem:The given correct answer is given as 14.49m for the centre of gravity from the keel of the platform i.e. KG=14.49mI have so far approached this as follows:I.e. the transverse Gravity to the Metacentre is equal to the Keel to the centre of Buoyancy + Centre of Buoyancy to the transverse Metacentre - KG.I.e. KG=KB+BMT-GMTI have also worked on the assumption that:i.e. BMT is equal to the transverse second moment of the water plane divided by the underwater volume. I've also assumed that the KB is half the draft.Further I have assumed that as the cylindrical columns are at the waterplane, the second moment of these areas will be about a circle and can be calculated as:i.e. Pi * diameter to the power of 4/64.I have carried on as below.I think that I have calculated the underwater volume correctly and the second moment for one column correctly. I am not sure how to equate the total second moment for the total waterplane i.e. all 8 columns.

  Dear PTC Community,  I am trying to solve one dimensional heat conduction in a hollow cylinder (for example a pipe) with heat convection both from the inside and outside.  Is there a way to use parametrized solve block with pdesolve? I want to be able to use the solve block for different values of Ti and hi, in a for-loop.  I appreciate your advice.  Thanks in advance  🙂

I have some data that I am reading into a worksheet.  For each line of data, I would like to solve for 3 unknowns.  I have three equations so that should work.  I have checked the equations within the solve block by copying them outside the solve block to see if they work and they do as can be seen after the find statement.I tried 'trace error' and it seems to give a nonsensical error.  Something about a squared term should be a function.I also tried to make my vectors of length 1 and 'trace error' gives a different error.I thought of trying to make the solve block a function but I am not sure how to get it to return 3 different values which don't have consistent units.The worksheet and example data is attached.  I am using v14.0 M020.I appreciate your suggestions.Jake
