Mathcad

Hello, I am using mathcad prime Prime 11.0.1.0.  Every time I try and print it crashes, even if I cancel the dialogue box.  Any one else seen this issue? Thanks

This is an extension of a previous post where I worked on a complex task (for me!) to calculate the soil weight and area behind a wall. referenced post and solution are located inAlgorithm-to-Calculate-Soil-Wedge-Area-Weight-and-Centroid The post was brilliantly solved by @Werner_E . At that time, the wall had a simplified geometry with just one course. Now, I need to apply similar logic to multiple courses, which requires repeating the process for each course.I would appreciate any assistance on how to adapt this logic to handle multiple courses, potentially up to 9 courses.

Hi, it was requested on my company to focus on Mathcad for calculation of new designs.It is a great tool, but how can I replace Excel in a inductor design like the image attached?Where I need/can see the different designs all together to evaluate them.Here we use Mathcad Prime 10.0.1.0. Thank you for the support.  

I'm relevely new to Mathcad. and today i run into a weird issue.I have created a plot. and the first trace works as expected. The second one... the data is there but it isn't plot the way as i expected.With symbols on i see the dots. but the line in between isn't plotted, and i don't have a clue why it isn't plotted at all.I have tried to change the circle to also have 3 points what works perfect. The example here defines also data and works also. I tried changing data; plot types; etc, but nothing works.I hope somebody here has an idea

PTC Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0I have a function that depends on several variables, and I want to compute the partial derivative with respect to each variable and store the results in a matrix.For example, the variables R1​,R2​,R3​,R4​,R5​,R6​,R7​, and R8​ are known.F(R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8)=R5*R4/(R3+R4) +(R7-R8/2)*R1+R6/R2I would like to create a matrix A_dif such that:A_dif(1)= dF/dR1A_dif(2)= dF/dR2………………..A-dif (8)=dF/dR8Can this be done so we do not need to repeat the operation 8 times.

I am using Mathcad Release 15.0 and DatecodeunknownWe have received an issue reported from Joseph’s end. The Mathcad application is currently not working properly and is not accepting values in the formulas.Could you please look into this issue and guide us on the resolution?If required, you may also schedule a meeting with Joseph to review the issue and provide guidance.

This is a clarified follow-up to a previously solved question. The new objective is to compute the soil wedge area, weight, and centroid (CGx, CGy) behind a retaining wall using the mathematical approach described in the attached Mathcad files, and input data is already explained in the attachment. I am using Mathcad Prime 11. Any help would be appreciated. 

I got a new pc with windows 11 home and with an intel core i7 ultra. I installed mathcad prime 10.0.0.0 with the license from my university in denmark. When trying to export or save the document it crashes. I have tried contacting my university IT-support but they say they cant help because they dont work with the program. I have read on forums that updating to the version 10.0.1.0 solves the crashing problem. Unfortunately my university does not supply license to that version. What can i do?

We're thinking of using MathCAD Prime. One of our key requirements is to be able to programmatically print MathCAD Prime files to PDF (i.e. with no user interaction). I know this is possible with MathCAD 15 (you automate printing to PDF from the commandline with MathCAD 15 by adding the "-p" option after the executable and before the filename), but I cannot see how to do it with MathCAD Prime. I've been looking through the API documentation: https://support.ptc.com/help/mathcad/r7.0/en/index.html#page/PTC_Mathcad_Help%2Fmathcad_and_automation_api.html%23. It says that you can print MathCAD Prime worksheets, but I cannot actually find this documented anywhere.Please could you let me know how to do this, either from the API or from the commandline?Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone If a have a nested matrix like this one below and I want to exclude the first row  of each small matrix in the original one How can I do that , when I try (submatrix function) it excludes the first matrix , but I want to exclude the first row of each matrix by the way my ORIGIN =1 I'm expecting the answer to be like (X sub ) in the second picture Thanks Yusra  

Hi thereI have a problem with this function . The issue is R is a cumulative value so the R2=R0+R1> R3= R0+R1+R2 and so on... I wanted to implement that in this function but an error ( must be a vector ) shows Is there a way to fix this or to write it differently Thanks The sheet is attached prime 11

We often deal with mathcad calculations that are 100 pages or more.  These can be unwieldly to navigate and check especially for those that did not develop the mathcad calculations.  One thing that could greatly improve the formating of mathcad would be to have the ability to have something like the tabs in an excel sheet.  Another way to do this would be to have the ability to have chapters or sections that could be tabbed through.  If it was done with chapters or sections, there could be a table of contents page with links to each section.  I know that mathcad had the ability to hide calculation regions but this is not nearly as user friendly.  This is a wish list item that I think would really improve the user interface for many users.  

Hi! I tried to find older discussion related to rainflow counting algorithm and found some but unfortunately they lead me to new problem. I used some program created by Ian Ward and was able to create workbook for my needs. But for some reason it doesn't always work like it should. Problems occur with some initial data and are related to the array index, I believe. Please find two identical calculation sheets attached with different initial data in embedded excel file. The file "Rainflow Cycle Counting A" works fine but the "Rainflow Cycle Counting B" does not. Can someone advice what is the problem, please? And another question, at the end of the calculations I have another embedded excel file to combine the rows in matrix that has identical values in the first column. For example, if I have values 3, 3, 3 in the first column and corresponding values of 2, 4, 6 in the second column, I would like to have them added so that I have row: [3, 12]. Hello, I am trying to use an IF Statement to check one vector against another.  I would like to return the same value into a vector or an altered value depending on if the one vector's value at a row is above 0 degrees.  I have tried replacing Theta_0 with the value of 0 deg.  Either way I am getting an error that says the value must be a scalar.  Could someone help me figure out how to make this IF Statement function properly?   V/r,Devin

Thanks in advance for any input.  I am somewhat new to Mathcad Prime.  I have generated a range variable sigma_t. when i use this in an equation H(sigma_t):= it does not compute and gives the "this variable is undefined" error.  I cannot for the life of me figure out what the issue is and what i can do to fix this.  assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Then I overwritten values for t1 and t2 and test variable result was updated with the new values of t1 and t2: Then I disabled t1 and t2, but the test variable remained unchanged. Why t1 and t2 did not took value 2 and update the test variable result with 4?  

Hello All:  I have encountered some strange behavior with the new "vec()" function in Mathcad Prime 11.  An example of this is shown in the screen capture below.   In trying to plot a complex function (the volume of a sideways cylindrical tank), the old way with a "range" for the h in this example gives the correct results (determined independently of Mathcad). However, the h created by the vec() function yields very different results in this instance.  I tried other simpler formulas [e.g, sqrt(2*R*h-h2)] and the results were satisfactory and both results matched.  But as I started fleshing out the equation with more terms, the behavior diverged as per the example below.   The other terms, when isolated, produce satisfactory results.  Only the term shown below in V2(h) presents strange behavior.  More still, expressing V2(h) differently (e.g., algebraically rewriting the expression will create still different but, likewise, still w
