Hello, I would like to solve an equation containing vectors (the result is also a vector) using programming. I tried using the solve block as indicated in the attached file, but I don't obtain the expected results (see Case 2). The expected result should be equal to the "y" vector from Case 1 highlighted in grey. Am I using the Solve block incorrectly? Is it possible to create a program for this situation (proffered solution).I am using Mathcad Prime 8. Thank you,Otilia

Hi all,   I am currently developing a step-by-step instruction for HoloLens 2 that should play a video when the next step is triggered. For this, I have written some JS code that switches the step (containing animations and switch in the step description). Hi, I have a problem about update a property of base type ThingName. Scenario: => Thing Template  = 'ABC' (contain property 'test' of type string)=> Thing : 'EFG' contain a property of base type THINGNAME (Thing template : 'ABC') , i name it ABC_1On the service of thing 'EFG' i want to update the property test   this code : me.ABC_1.test ='new value' does not work ! Do you have any idea how to achive this ? Thank you in advance.   

When i select the infinite horizontal construction line from the ribbon, the construction line automatically snaps on the part edges as you can see in the 1st pic bellow. But when i add a shortcut for the construction lines, and select the same command, the line doesn't snaps anymore (2nd pic bellow). I don't know if someone can help me, I'm new at this software .     Thanks.

Hello All.   This question explicitly is addressing Mathcad PRIME (Current Version 8).  Not Mathcad 15. Is there a workaround on how to "easily" employ the Del Operators such as gradient, curl, and divergence in Mathcad Prime.  We can do it "long-hand," but not like what we had with Mathcad 15, so the Mathcad Prime presentation of the equation is more intuitive to students and closer to what we write on the chalkboard.  I can roll with the use of the Einsteinian Notation or Vector/Del or even just plain grad(), curl(), Div() notation. Cheers and Thanks.Bill CapehartSD Mines

I am attempting to add a marker on a pre-defined cable assembly. The part is in assembly mode, and I am unable to open the cable assembly separately. I see online that I am supposed to use a marker.  To Apply Marker to a Cable1.Click Cosmetics > Marker.The Marker tab opens.2.Select a segment of the marker.3.To accept the default length, diameter and thickness click the check mark. 4.The marker is created with the default values and the tab is closed automatically. I cannot find the 'cosmetics' icon to create the marker while in assembly mode. Can anyone help direct me?

Has anyone experience with extracting data from Windchill (WT.Parts/BOM Structures) and Attributes?   What tools did you use that could make this process of extraction streamline and/or efficient?   My company is in the process of migrating from our legacy MRP to SAP ECC/ERP/MRP.    This data dump will be in the hundreds of thousands of Material Masters/WT.parts and related BOMs.   Thanks in advance.Kayle Brock

From what I can tell, if I want to change the model representation (using a simplified rep) that is used in a view and a repeat region BOM, one must change them both separately. Either one is changed/switched, the dwg deletes all the attachments and balloons that have been organized to each component, and this is regardless of which one is done first. Does anyone know how to swap both the view and the Repeat Region Representations so that the balloons and attachments for the remaining components (the ones not excluded by the simp. rep.) are not lost?

Hi everyone!I have created an Experience on Hololens 2 with step-by-step instruction, where you have to push "Next Step" button to load next animation in a model. I have put it on a 3D Panel to use Tagalong function, but there is this big "pin/unpin" button I would like to hide, and here is my question - how to do it? I know that I can turn off this button functionality with simple js function, but I want it to disappear.

I need to support two licence files (different companies) on the same server.  Its easy enough to set the ports to different numbers, but ptc_d insists on creating lockptc_d in /var/tmp.  Setting TMPDIR doesn't seem to help.   Does anyone know a way (or an environment variable) to force it to create its lockfile elsewhere?   The issue is that when starting the second server, it can't open the lockfile and then dies. Thanks, 

I am implementing a material nonlinear simulation for an aluminum tube. I fixed an end of the tube and used displacement constraint to another end.The ultimate stress of the material is 440MPa. What simulation or how to set up parameter to measure the moving constraint when the ultimate stress reaches exactly 440Mpa?   

Im modeling some chunks to export in .stp to mastercam. Can i set the origin  in creo elements/direct, so when i export my chunk to mastercam i allready have my "zero point" where i want?   Thanks

Hi,after I installed Creo 8 and startet it I got the message, that the Creo System Monitor, Exit Logger and Creo Embedded Browser. I already tried to repair it with the PTC Creo Platform Services as it says in this article (https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS331638) but the error still occured.What else can I do?

I have modeled half of a sheetmetal part. I then selected the part in the model tree and mirrored it. In the options for the mirror I have selected "Merge to model". How do I join these two parts along the seam created by the mirror, on the top surface? I would have thought that "Merge walls" was the tool I needed, but I can't get that to work with any combination of selected surfaces.

Use did say that he added a second sheet to the drawing so that would be the reason for the B revision.   

Hi there, the default behavior of windchill is, that if somethings goes wrong during checkin process, the checkin comment is lost.So I tweaked  <Windchill-installation>\codebase\templates\uwgm\cadx\checkin\checkintables.js a little to make a copy of the comment to a new window like: var comment_window = window.open(); comment_window.document.writeln(comment);(I intentionally left all code out, which "prettifies" the new window)  works great! Now I want to copy the comment directly to the clipboard.But when I try this// copy comment to clipboard navigator.clipboard.writeText(comment) .then(() => { alert("successfully copied: " + comment); }) .catch(() => { alert("something went wrong"); }); I get the error under Creo 8.0.6.0, "checkintables.js Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'then')" What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to create a template for my company using Mathcad Prime 7.0.In the template I need to create excel parts in order to reproduce some tables. I have used the command insert object. The problem that I am facing is that the resolution in the final document once saved in pdf is not great, I should say it is quite poor. In addition, if I close the excel file and I open it again to add additional parts once close it doesn’t show the new parts in the Mathcad page. Is there a way to solve these issues?

I am trying to implement a search path file for the first time in an assembly. I have it mostly working, but there is one component I don't fully understand. In the directory where the assembly is located I have a config.pro that points to the search_path_file (search.pro) located in the same directory. The search.pro then points to 3 other directories where appropriate parts for the assembly are located. In the search.pro, I have the directories contained in quotes because they contain spaces. How I would expect this to work:Launch CreoMy start-in directory is in My DocumentsI "Select Working Directory" and choose the directory that contains the assemblyThe parts are found and the assembly loadsHowever, this doesn't work. Parts are not found and the assembly fails. In the Creo configuration editor, I cannot see the working directory config.pro nor the search_path_file option that in that configuration file.
