Configuring the Thingworx azure IoT hub connector requires creating a blob storage, should this storage account be Hot or Cold Storage?

Thingworx 8.5 Trial.Thingworx Analytics 8.5.Thingworx Flow 8.5.   I am getting the following error (Invalid Connection) when I attempt to create a connection to Thingworx from Flow.   Also getting Error 404 when attempting to add a Workflow from within a Thing.   Have logged a case with support - but is it because I am using a trial?

I'm about to start a project which will contain a single Model and 20 or more Model Items.   Occasionally the client is going to update the Model geometry. Is it possible to use the new geometry in Vuforia Studio without having to delete and recreate all the Model Items? If not, what's the best way of going about this?

Hello,   I've added a parameter in our title blocks the shows the lifecycle state.  This is incase a paper copy of our drawing is printed out, if it's floating around its easily identifiable as under review or released.  The parameter in the title block show properly at WIP, Under Review, but after a promotion request where it is approved and moves to a released state that parameter does not update in the published or actual drawing.  I have a publishing rule that creates pdf and dxf upon release... but they all end up saying under review.. I have found a setting in the recipe file that suggests it will regen before publishing but this doesn't seem to have an effect.

Hello, has anyone here manage to create a web application / E-commerce website using thingworx? Am pretty new to thingworx and I know thingworx is use for as a platform for IoT development. But is it weird if I use thingworx to build a E-commerce or a web application without involving the IoT aspects? Also if it's possible, how should I categorise "Things, Things Template, Things Shape" as? 

When PTC dropped the support for the Creo Illustrate Workgroup Manager, there is no support for searching for GDD (Illustration Source) and nor for the C3DI file from the Creo Illustrate application. When importing a GDD from Windchill, the user needs to navigate the folders in the Products/Libraries to find it. Many companies have a lot of Products/Libraries (in some cases hundreds of them). Also, when opening an existing C3DI file, the user needs to browse the folder structure in Windchill from Creo Illustrate to open it.  I propose adding functionality to search for and import GDDs from Windchill inside Creo Illustrate and also add support for "Open in Creo Illustrate" from Windchill in the same way as we can select "Open in Creo View".

So apart from these two are there any other modules in WPA ? I'm a Mathcad newbie and consider myself fortunate to have been able to generate a crude surface plot of a function of two variables. This plot may be spotlighted as part of a History Channel series episode that will begin shooting in about three weeks. As such I want it to appear as "professional"-looking as possible. I have several questions:[1] I want to "stretch" the plot in the y direction [range 0 to 4,000 feet] but have been stymied thus far. [Note: In a true-scale drawing of the plot, the y-direction side of the rectangle would be an order of magnitude longer than its x-direction counterpart. That’s obviously not achievable, but it would be nice to make the plot as narrow as possible.] PTC Mathcad Help, under Component Structure, states that “The plot area…displays the plot of the X and Y expressions defined in the Inputs area. You can use the component block handles to resize the chart area in the x, y, or both directions.” Problem is, I can’t find those handles.[2] Is it poss

When defining a section offset distance the dragger arrow is very helpful.  I often use it to quickly view a variety of sections through a part or assembly.   However, the dragger seems to jump in increments of about 0.032".  For smaller products this is far too large of an increment.  Is there any way to adjust the sensitivity of the dragger arrow?      

Hi all When installing TWX Navigate, the documents call for a patch to Windchill to support 'Contribute tasks'. This is for any Windchill version before 11.2 (please correct me!). I think the Windchill patch is necessary no matter which Navigate version  (please correct me!). The patch is provided as an executable jar which makes various changes in the Windchill installation. I like to be able to revert quickly, so is there a corresponding executable or script which could 'unpatch' or revert the patch? Maybe I need to snapshot the VM and DB after closing it all down and making backups. When the patch has not yet been applied, Will Navigate have *any* functionality? Just View tasks perhaps? What are the various Windchill changes in the patch? Added REST endpoints, changed request handlers? Does CPS-12 include this patch? (our version is below) Thanks! I want to create mapkey that would involve the operator picking a point on a drawing, but that point would be a different location from drawing to drawing. When recording this, does the mapkey look for an operator input after "clicking" on a point, or does it hard code the location that the point at which the click was made?

I have a thing "GLOB" that contains global persistent properties I have another thing "THG1" that has a property "prop1" that is bound to one of GLOB.   Do I need to set also on THG1 that "prop1" is persistent or is it enough the persistent flag on GLOB ? From a simple test (by just restarting THG1) seems that it is enought set persistent the prop at GLOB .... but I have a cloud instance and cannot restart the whole app easily ....    

Hi, We are evaluating ThingWorx 8.5.0 that is installed on a linux server. We are running the platform in a disconnected mode (no internet available). We are following the guide : https://developer.thingworx.com/en/resources/learning-paths/getting-started-on-thingworx-platform/thingworx-foundation-quickstart . We can create and save tags, ThingShapes and ThingTemplates. But on the step 5, while saving the Thing, we are getting "Licence has not bee installed" error. The same can be seen while importing the sample entities from other guide, creating Data Shape, Value Streams, creating a new user etc. Can you please help us understand what might be the problem?   We have generated ../ThingworxPlatform/licenceRequestFile.txt file containing device id. We went through the Licensing Guide for disconnected sites (http://support.ptc.com/lm/ThingWorx_Navigate_8.1_Licensing_Instructions.pdf) . But getting 'Access denied:insufficient privileges' error due to trail version acco

Have you ever wondered if its possible to create a responsive scrollable mashup in Thingworx?   While creating an application you might run into an issue where you want to fit too much content to a single responsive page. Let's say you want to create a nice looking modern homepage or about page in Thingworx for your application. It might be challenging to do so but its very well possible. Let me show you a workaround.   1. In the Mashup builder select Layout tab, change Positioning to Static and set Fixed size to your desired Height. I would like the report to expand any groups that are in the container to show the members of the group also. Hi PTC community,   my designs employ a lot of M2 / M2.5 / M3 screws. Until now I designed screws, washers and nuts by myself, but using the Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX) seems to be way more convenient.   The IFX only allows to use DIN 912 (ISO 4762) M4+ screws and M3+ washers/nuts. I tried to add the according data to the dat file (Common Files\afx\parts\ifx_fastener_data\DIN912-10_9.dat), but this doesn't work. What is the proper way to extend the existing options?   Thanks in advance, Mike

Hi, I have the ThingWorx 8.1.2-b51, it is not a trial or student license. I can upload datasets and create models but at the moment I cannot publish them. I get the error: Model deployment failed on connector TW.AnalysisServices.ThingPredictorConnector. I have tried to change the predictive-standalone.yml and redeploy the ThingPredictor JAR file from the command line.   In command line (running the JAR) I get warnings like:  log4j: WARN No appenders could be found for logger. log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly. Cannot resolve place holder for ${microservice.server}   And different warnings about varaibles (ex: data.service.url.prefix) being set twice.   I believe there was a previous installation of the PredictorConnector, maybe uninstall the previous one might solve the problem? How can I do that?   Kind regards.

hello,   I know this has been discussed in several different posts and elsewhere online but I haven't been able to find a working solution.  I have several drawings where the mass is not updating.  I am using &PRO_MP_MASS[.2] to indicate the parts mass.  I have the mass_property_calculate set to automatic.  I have tried recalculating the mass properties with file > prepare > model properties > mass properties > calculate > generate report, then regenerating the part and the drawing.  The mass properties report gives the correct mass.  But the mass will not update on the drawing.  I've tried updating my format, ect and nothing has worked.  Am I missing something?  Is there a better way to call mass properties to a drawing?    I have been able to get the mass to update on some parts/drawings but not others.     thanks
