One interesting need that comes up for multiple reasons is the need to break out Family Table Instances into standalone Models. There are many reasons for why you want to do this - sometimes it is to avoid Family Tables being shared with vendors/customers (basically a catalog of what you make/buy/use), other times is to avoid complex relationships and dependencies (I don’t need 4,000 bolts available tagging along with an assembly when only 5 are in it). There are many other reasons why customers want to break these out - but the biggest one is sharing without sharing too much - standalone models are just easier to deal with for user, PDM, and PLM in the end. But Family Tables have a purpose for sure - they are great for managing the library masters; exporting the individual models is often a need for more accountability and streamlined version control. I recently started using Mathcad Prime 12 for structural engineering / Eurocode calculations and I noticed something frustrating regarding the unit system.Mathcad correctly understands that: kg/s² = N/m. However when working with line loads (common in structural engineering), Prime often displays results as “kg/s²” instead of the expected engineering SI unit: N/m or kN/m.The strange part is that under “Insert Derived Units → Force per Length” there are several imperial units available: kpi, klf, plf. but there is NO SI alternative such as N/m or kN/m.This creates a awkward workflow in SI-based calculations, especially for Eurocode and structural design where line loads are constantly used.Currently the only workaround that i found seems to be manually dividing by (kN/m) , creating display variables or manually writing the unit as text. This partly defeats the purpose of the otherwise very capable engineering unit system.Questions:Is there any hidden way to add custom SI derived units

I've created them for following CAD versions: WF4 (= Pro/E Wildfire 4) CEP5 (= Creo Elements/Pro 5, formerly Pro/E Wildfire 5) CP2 (= Creo Parametric 2) CP3 (= Creo Parametric 3) CP4 (= Creo Parametric 4) Basis for the options were the lists of Olaf Corten (thanks for them) http://proesite.com/UTIL/view_config.html and http://proesite.com/UTIL/view_setup.html. General config.pro options get shown dark blue and bold. Hidden config.pro options get shown in a lighter blue, bold and italic. To add a UDL file to Notepad++, choose "Language" and then "Define your language" in the menu. GDT Advisor currently only supports traditional hole types.Our team uses Helicoils and Keenserts often, and including them as options in GDT Advisor would be very helpful. These holes require different notations, are there plans to include them soon?
There have been many requests for how to quickly Batch Export DXF, DWG, PDF, and STEP files out of Creo Parametric. This is a common problem we all struggle - it is the boring stuff we do (a grind to setup and execute properly). When I export a PDF, the phantom and hidden lines appear to be the same, but in the Creo drawing, it’s clearly different. The only way I found that will reflect the phantom line geometry is what I did with the line highlighted in yellow. I described how I did it below.Does anyone know how to fix this? I want to use the component display to make the lines phantomopque, and have it reflected when I export a PDF. Hi all,Last week we released PTC Mathcad Prime 12.0.0.0. We’ll be sharing more detail on www.ptc.com soon. A handful of users reported an issue with the release.Currently, PTC Mathcad Prime 12.0.0.0 will not run if it’s installed on a system where the system language is set to one other than one of the ten languages officially supported by Mathcad (US English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese). If you run Mathcad Prime 12.0.0.0 on a system using one of those supported languages, there’s no problem. If you can change your system language to one of those supported languages, Mathcad Prime 12.0.0.0 will run fine. But if you need to run Mathcad Prime 12.0.0.0 on a system language not officially supported by Mathcad, you should remain on PTC Mathcad Prime 11.0.1.0 until this is resolved.We’ve been working closely with Microsoft on this issue and have identified a fix. In the days before MATHCAD Prime… It was possible to annotate your analysis images with “Arrow Attached Text”. It is no longer present. One must annotate an image in MS Powerpoint before adding image to Mathcad Prime 11. It makes tasks much more work going between other apps for graphics. I add alot of “fabrication” pictures to my “Material Review” packages as I structurally review” in process fabrication opportunities. Please consider restoring and even enhancing this former ability. I am currently working in Creo View 10.0.0.0 (standalone) and have an active session open with hours of unsaved work on a fairly large assembly in PVZ format (with sections, color coding, visibility states).When trying to save the active view as an Annotation Set, I receive the following error:Save Error: Markup object no longer existsSymptoms: The newly created Annotation Sets appear as black squares in the sidebar instead of regular thumbnails and are not loaded on double click. In Windows file Explorer, the original .pvz does not update. Instead, temporary files like [filename].etb.~1~ are generated, indicating the save process aborts before the container is packed. Using "Save As" for the .pvz to a new folder results in a file where the Annotation Sets are broken in the same way. The same happens when saving a copy as *.pvs. Question: The session is still open and the visual state is intact in my RAM. Is there any known workaround to force-save this current state? We have developed a Python application to automate the export of DRW drawings into various output formats while applying specific file naming conventions.However, we are experiencing significant delays when our application requests Creo to access DRW files. For example, opening a relatively small drawing can sometimes take several minutes. We do not observe these delays when opening the same file directly in Creo.For reference, Creoson, our Python application, and all Creo files are hosted on an internal company server. We are trying to determine the source of these delays. I have a subordinate UDF that creates a set of features including an extrusion. One of the extrusion dimensions is set as a variable dimension in the UDF and has a prompt assigned. When the UDF is inserted, user is not prompted for the dimension. instead, the existing value is used.

I’ve been revisiting Mathcad after some time away, and I had a question about functionality that used to exist in older versions.Back when I was using Mathcad 15, I remember being able to plot vector fields (for example, visualizing a 2D vector function with arrows over a grid) fairly directly using the built-in plotting tools.Now that PTC Mathcad Prime has been around for a while and has gone through multiple updates, I’m wondering:Does the current version of Mathcad Prime support vector field plotting natively? If not, is there any recommended or standard workaround within Mathcad Prime (without exporting to other tools)?
