I'm a SW user with about a year of CREO use now. I'm on CREO Parametric 10.0.4.0. I'm playing with a PCB layout, placing major components on a motherboard. So I've dropped in a PCIe card, and attached it to a PCIe Connector, and I've got power connectors, and other hand-accessible components (buttons, switches, etc). I've constrained them all to the PCB surface, and now I'd like to drag them around and figure out which layout works best for end-user and PCB design team. The only way I seem to be able to do this is to click on a component, and Edit Definition, and then drag the arrows for the unconstrained Degrees of Freedom. That's kind of okay, except that CREO seems to really think the assembly order matters. So if I place the PCIe connector first, I have to drag that around in its DoF, but that hides the PCIe card, and associated cables since those were placed later. And if I move whatever the first component is (in this case a button), every other component disappears so I hav

Are there any users out there that can vouch for the current HSM Modules in relation to 4 axis milling?  Has PTC improved 4 axis much?

I can complete all aspects of processing a model into a machined part except the output file needed for my machine. I have simple 3 axis proto tack SMX controller that needs a .gcd file output. I can only save and view my CL data into an .ncl format. W use Creo 10.0.3.0. Any assistance with post processors? 

I've looked through the community and the internet and haven't found anything on this subject, so hopefully I didn't just miss it somewhere. I have an assembly that someone created an exploded view for, so I don't want to just delete it. But every time I open the assembly, the default view is the exploded view and the first thing I have to do to get any work done is unexplode the model. I've looked through the view manager and the config settings and I can't find any means of changing this default setting. How do I get the assembly to stop doing this?

Hi there,I have used Creo Direct V19 on my old laptop for 4 years without issue (even worked when OS upgraded to Windows 11).On transferring to a new PH ZBook Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265H (2.20 GHz) Win 11 Creo now has strange clipping on flyover selection where the surface highlights in orange (as normal) but now the whole surface jumps in front of other parts, while before only the visible area would be highlighted.After selecting a surface, the whole part also jumps to render in full in front of other parts.When moving a part dynamically, the part (or assembly) will begin clipping and disappear as its is moved.Switching off hardware acceleration (CPU only) resolves these issues but the frame rate is unusable.The new laptop has the latest drivers installed for the Intel Arc Pro 140T (16GB) and NVIDIA RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPU.Just wondering if anyone else has seen this and found a solution to it?Thank you Cal

At the minute, there is a discrepancy between the CAD and the measured angles on the machine. We want to understand, how CREO measures the angle between to the end coupling oriented in 2 different planes.

I am a long time user of pre-Prime MathCad and have until recently been using MathCad14. I had a quick test drive of Prime when it was first launched and hated it. For reasons beyond my control, I have had to do a fresh re-installation of Windows 11 Pro. I have reinstalled MathCad but now I am unable to register its licence (“Error 403 - Forbidden”).Can anyone confirm if I should be able to continue using my old MathCad? Or has the licensing for this been discontinued? 

I think that the cross-hatching is somewhat convoluted, not sufficiently documented and not at all clear as to designed workflow in the practical world. However for this post I found a bug that causes extremely slow Hatch dialog performance in Creo drawings that does not appear to be documented anywhere. This post is intended to clearly describe the behavior, the root cause, and the fix.I am primarily using Creo Parametric 11.0.6.0 Solution Summary: Option A ) via UI Open Hatch Gallery Clear all Pins and Favorites Close and reopen the Hatch dialog Option B ) file explorer Close Creo Navigate to: %PTC_WF_ROOT%\.Settings\ Delete or Rename: web_favorites.xml → web_favorites_backup.xml You may also be able to change the contents of the file, since it is xml, automatically using a script, but I did not get this far, and probably wont go this route for now. Restart Creo Hopefully this helps others avoid days of unnecessary debugging.  I will likely submit a support

Hello,  Moving to Mathcad Prime 9 from V15, and noticed there are no rules or guidelines to align the different regions of the document. Any suggestions/tips/tricks to align the regions other by eyeballing them?

Snapping to the grid is not a good alternative to being able to align a group of regions.  It was very easy in Mathcad 15.  

I am trying Prrime for the first time today. How do you align regions vertically? I know how to do it in M15, but I can not figure out how to do it in Prime. I also can not find in the help guide.Thanks Andrew

Hi, I recently changed the motherboard on my PC, and my Mathcad15 licence is no longer valid. Impossible to tranfer it to a new host ID, PTC does not recognise it. I have Mathcad prime 3.1 licence, working well, but the converter from .xmcd to mcdx does work without Mathcad 15 operating. I need only 6 files to be converted.My question is if anybody having Mathcad 15 and Mathcad prime 3.1 installed could kindly do this conversion for me.I join a ZIP with the filesNote that Prime 3.1 version is required, More recent versions might deliver .mcdx files not readable with 3.1 version. Mathcad Prime 10.0.1 correctly read cells from Excel which includes multiple lines (<ALT>+<Enter>), displaying de read content in several lines within Mathcad.The correct interpretation of <ALT>+<Enter> was removed in Prime 11 and 11.0.1.Formatting the displayed way of the content of read values, without this change of lines, is impossible.Is this correct interpretation restored in Prime 12?

Trying to solve a large linear algebra Ax=b problem using Prime.The x:=lsolve(A,b) says not enough memory, but I can solve the same size using other software on my large 128GB of RAM.Prime 11 reports in task manager as only 217 MB.How do I give Prime access to more memory if possible?Cheers 

Hi everyone,I'm working on a Creo Toolkit (Pro/Toolkit) application and need to create a mirror feature programmatically.According to the official PTC documentation, the element `PRO_E_MIRROR_REF_ITEMS` expects references of the following types:- PRO_CURVE- PRO_COMP_CRV- PRO_AXIS- PRO_QUILT- PRO_PARTNotably, `PRO_FEATURE` is NOT included in this list. My questions:1. Is there a way to mirror a feature directly via `PRO_E_MIRROR_REF_ITEMS` (i.e., passing a `PRO_FEATURE` reference)?2. If not, what is the correct/best practice for mirroring a feature through Toolkit?Thank you in advance for any insights or code examples.

For creo 10.0.5.0, while loading large assemblies from our network drive, it takes 4-5 times more time for me than the other users. Made my colleague login to my machine and run the same test. It was slow for him as well. tell us the issue is machine specific. Tried the first 3 resolutions from this article and still no improvements.Article - CS49886 - Loading/saving assemblies from/to network drives is much slower than from/to a local disk in Creo Parametric Is it something escalating to PTC would help?thanks.

When I use the IDX process to create a board with KOZs that stay 0.5 mm from my PCB’s connectors, should I create references to the connector geometry directly from my KOZ sketch that is within my board model? This would mean that I would be referencing a component that is in my PCBA model instead of only using internal references to the raw card (example: the raw card’s side and front plane). Are circular references an issue with .idx files?

I went to create some exclusive symbols today and discovered what appears to be a bug in the symbol editor affecting PTC Creo from version 9.0.0.0 through the current release. When creating a new symbol with groups set to exclusive, or when adding a new group to an older symbol instance, the selections made through Menu Manager are ignored and all entities are displayed instead of only the selected entities in the group.Our current production version is 9.0.10.0, and I was able to reproduce the same behavior on clean installs of 9.0.11.0, 11.0.6.0, and 12.4.4.0.I was originally trying to copy an existing symbol created in Creo 8.0.7.0 using the same group selections, but quickly noticed the issue when entities I had not selected continued to appear in the symbol. What makes this even stranger is that the preview for the exclusive group displays correctly, but once the symbol is placed in the drawing area it behaves as though the highest-level group is active, with all entities displaye

The 3d models that my organization manage almost all belong to a top-level facility assembly in CED all stored in Manager Server of course. The top-level assembly is organized by rooms and the top-level assembly of each room is in a container. The vast majority of the time we are loading just sub-assemblies of the local area that we are interested in when loading from the server to CED Modeling. Occasionally we do need to load the top-level assembly when creating facility layout images for example.Over the 30+ years that we have been using CED (ME30->CoCreate->CED) the top level assembly has gotten quite large. Previously the assembly would take days to load from Manager Server but would eventually finish. Modeling performed pretty well once the load was complete.Recent attempts to load our top-level assembly have been unsuccessful. Most recently the load failed after chugging away for 10 days. The error thrown was “LISP error: Cannot open the file” followed by a file name in a l

I’m trying to calculate one bracket where hole for shaft. Part is very complicated and there are several forces in different locations of it. So easiest way to constrain part is add constrain to to hole of bracket. It work but it behaves wrong way now. All surfaces of hole are “locked” and it’s quite far away how it should behave when there is shaft in hole. One solution would be that turn it other way and add bearing force to hole and cnstrain other surfaces/points but it’s really hard to get right values etc on that case. So now would like to hear how that constrain can be done such way that it as close as possible same way as shaft in hole? (contact analyses can’t be used because of our poor license..) 

Hello everyone,I am working with a Creo Mechanism assembly and I would like to better understand how to manage the rigid bodies automatically generated by Mechanism.In the Model Tree, I can display a column called “Rigid Body #”. The components have values such as: Ground, 1, 2, 3, and Excluded.I have two questions: Is there a way to select all components that belong to the same Rigid Body #? For example, can I automatically select all components where Rigid Body # = 2? Is it possible to rename the automatically generated rigid bodies? For example, can I change the names from 1, 2, 3 to custom names such as body1, body2, body3, or more meaningful names? Any suggestion on the recommended Creo workflow would be very helpful.Thanks!Fabio
