CAD

In Creo  Simulate, is there a method to define a rotary joint between two components in a four-bar linkage mechanism? Will apply constraints such that the assembly is fully constrained. I've tried the 'pin' joint, but it's wrt the world, not between two parts. I've also tried 'displacement' with a body-attached cylindrical csys, but no luck. 'Contact' option also doesn't work. The rotary joint seems to be a pretty basic function in FEM/FEA, am I missing anything? 

Hello, I am working on a few automation projects on Creo 4.0 using the VBA API toolkit.I have set a macro that searches for empty layers in my model and deletes them : this works as intended but after running the macro, the deleted layers still show in the layer tree.They can't be interacted with so they are indeed taken as deleted, but hitting regenerate, or repaint does not erase them from the tree, for the regenerate it is because for creo there is nothing to regenerate (I get the message 'part' not changed since last regen)However, if I do any change in the model (add a sketch or an extrude), the layer tree refreshes and removes the deleted layers.I am looking for any idea to get the layer tree to refresh because even though the intended function works just fine and I can just keep going and it'll update after a change, I don't find it "tidy" to have these ghost layers lying around ^^ I thought about creating a dummy sketch to force the regen and then delete it, but I wonder i

 When I try to use the symbolic operation function, the message 'Unknown error: symbolic_engine_unresponsive' appears and it is not working properly.

I have a Mathcad Prime 8.0 key, but i don't know where I can dowload Mathcad Prime 8.0 and not the 9.0 version.

I own a legacy Mathcad software program, which I want to install on my current windows 11 workstation.  I was p[rompted while attempting to retreive a license of the following;  license can not be issued and I must go to the web site and apparently purchase a later version of Mathcad.  First of all, just exactly how does this only available option work?  Secondly, monies are not budgeted for this purchase.  Where exactly does this leave me?

Hello Everybody! I am somewhat new to Mathcad programing but I have faced with the task which required cycles in MathCAD to be solved. The task:i have a set of functions with the common function variable (tetta), which is defined in the interval  (0-360) with the step =1. And also I have a criterion, I need to crete a cycle which calculates my functions with variable (tetta) from 0 - 360 and the compare all function result with criterion. If it meets criterion conditions the stop calculations and return Pmud. If it does not meet criterion condition do calculation with new Pmud = Pmud + 0.01. See the attached mathcad v14 file with comments. Thanks in advance for your comments!

As per the original post.      I am atttempting to write  a batch file to open and automatically run a specific license, THEN if i can get past that point i would like to have it login to winchill automatically also. HOWEVER I am on the fist step and i cannot seem to bypass the license options window and i have to select enter each time. would you be willing to let me know what your backend batch file code was that when the users select #6 is starts in design essesntials instead of the native filing ..etc?       currently i am simply calling the code below but it has no direction as to which license to use so it promts a window for selection:   CALL "Z:\CREO4\Creo 4.0\M150\Parametric\bin\Parametric.exe"

Hello,Does anyone have an idea in which dimensioning type or standard this dimensioning frame is used ?In Modeling and Drafting it is called FLAG in English In German in Modeling it is called "Markierung", in Drafting "Schild".     Text can also be marked with this frame, there it is clear to me. Hello all, I am trying to create an upper level skeleton file that its parent assembly can leverage the "substitute" feature in the view manager to cascade changes to lower parts. Below this "Module" level assembly would be a sub assembly that contains its own skeleton file aka "Sub Skeleton* that is leveraged for a flexible part. In this sub skeleton I am trying to use copy geometry to look "Up" at the family table as a whole.  The interaction I am looking for is as such. The Module level skeleton will have a Csys that will adjust between two determined "X" coordinate locations.The Sub-Assembly I want to look at the family table and simply look at the location depending on what instance is leveraged, but my intention is that this sub-assembly will not have to be two separate parts because it is trying to view get ID's from what thinks is two separate feature ID's.Does anyone have any idea of this is possible, or have a suggested way of doing this?   

It say "Program ID already expired" when I try to install the license fr PTC Mathcad Prime 3.0.

I added a Torque Wrench to my animation. And, when I preview it, it generates the text "Torque bolts to specified value". This is because I added the Torque Wrench. Is there any way to remove the other phrase, leaving only "Step 3"???  

Dear Community I would like to show this "shelf" in a "Down" and "Up" position on the drawing. (See Image below) What is the best way to add these parts to the assembly without having them on the BOM? We could delete them from the BOM on the drawing, but that brings the risk of someone forgetting to delete it from the BOM. So ideally the parts would be marked as non BOM parts when placing them in the assy.Thanks for your suggestions! Best wishes Alex   

hello,i would like to ask about the creation of the force on a round surface. L'ets say we have a cylinder  and a radial force is applied, ususally the force is perpondicular to the axe of the cyliner, but on creo simulate  this was not the case , visually the force was not perpondicular    

I have a message error in a repeat region with relation. I have 2 assembly types:- ASM 1- ASM 2In the ASM 1 I have the AC1_LEN_SE parameter, which is a tube length parameterIn the ASM2 I have the AC1_LEN_XX parameter, it is also a tube length parameter) We need to know the total tube length by subassembly reference, whatever the assembly typology.My repetition table is used in the drawings of asm1 and asm2. I have the desired result, but I have the following message which I do not understand."There are errors regenerating repeat region relations." Can you help me understand this message and how to resolve it? Below you will find the table. Greetings   

ver.: Creo Parametric Student Edition 9.0.0.0I am trying to model ears for my helmet to use for cosplay and have a (partial - just the top) 3D scan of my helmet so I could model it perfectly to the shape. When I try to import the helmet it opens an is just "blue" and there is no surface I can clisk on or plane I could add to then model the ears onto. I've tried looking on Youtube, Reddit and on here if there are any solutions. I've also tried to import it as a .3mf, .stl, .obj and .asc but all gave the same result. I don't think anything is wrong with my helmet file since it opens normally in 3D Viewer, Ultimaker Cura, Prusa slicer and Meshmixer. I assume I'm doing something wrong in Creo since I'm fairly new to it   

I'm trying to update a central catalog that was built ~10 years ago (2012).A few questions1) could someone send an example of what the organization in a central catalog directory looks like? I'm aware that datasets are saved in csv files2) From what I read .pkg and .lst files are no longer used since ver 7.0, is this true?3) What is the difference between a .pkg and .lst file?4) Are all artifacts saved as .she files now? Is it possible to turn translate info from a .pkg/lst file into a .she file?         

In creo 9.0.4.0, 540*160*5mm size, use mill window + volume rough with Diameter 8mm tool, and then followed by local milling with Diameter 4mm tool to remove residual material ( with pre-sequence in local milling ) , it takes 7 hours to complete path calculation, it is hard to continue my job. any comments for this issue? are any parameters wrong used in local milling?

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM140Hello, I am trying to show a message in creo window with a pop up dialog box as described in page 44 of the vb api user guide for creo 4.0, but I have two issues with it :1 : although the method is supposed to allow not having any options, when I try just show my message with no options I get an Null exception error raised because the options are not given.2 : There is no clear explaination on how to create the options and use the different option methods like the DefaultButton or MessageDialogType for instance. Is it possible to provide more detailed explanations on how to create a message with a pop up dialog box ?
