Hi All, I'm resurrecting an old thread as I am curious if PTC have resolved this modelleing limitation in later releases. I did try to message the moderator to reactivate the old thread but was informed it is best to start a new one: Re: How to model a helical sweep cut that matches ... - PTC Community Does anyone know if this is now possible in later relases? I am currently using 7 but no updates here. FYI my part does not have a standard helical pitch, I have datum curves generated by co ordinates, so it would not be possible to use the volume helical sweep which I beleive was a new feature added to V 7 to tackle this issue for set pitches.
Hello all, Does anyone have an example of how to use G93 in programming 4 axis contouring work with Creo Manufacturing? We have a machine with this capability and I'd like to try it. So far I have been able to get the post to put G93 in the right places, but it puts a F0. for feedrate. Even if it did work, I am not sure how this really works. G93 as I understand it interprets feed commands as inverse time. So if my feedrate in IPM is 100, but G93 is active, the move will occur in 1/100 seconds? How can that be right? A short move takes longer than 100IPM would linearly and a long move takes the same amount of time so it moves much faster than 100IPM? Maybe I am misunderstanding how that works, but that is how I read it. Thank you for any help!Matt
I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.6.0Creating branch is manual cabling showing dotted line so unable to create wire or cable
Hello All, I am attempting to download the free trial of Creo for an interview. After filling out the online form I received a thank you message but nothing else. What am I missing? Thanks
HI Expert,I have below condition and would like to know how the Creo licenses will be utilized. I have a single Windows workstation with Creo (WC 12) installed, and the machine has two local user accounts (User 1 and User 2).I would like to understand how Creo licensing works when multiple users share the same machine:If User 1 logs in and starts Creo, but does not close Creo before logging out or switching users, and then User 2 logs in and starts Creo as well — how many licenses are consumed? Is this counted as one license (because it is the same machine), or two licenses (because there are two user sessions)? If User 1 does close Creo before logging out, will User 2 be able to start Creo normally under their own login and use the same license? In general, what is the correct way for multiple users to share a single workstation and use Creo with the most efficient (optimal) license usage? Are there any guidelines or best practices for concurrent users on the same machine?Any officia
Hello everybody!I'm using Creo 7 to simulate a mechanism that uses a piston (slider constraint with lower and upper limit, the green part) to partially rotate a cranck mechanism . The problem is that the rotating part wants to pull the piston beyond its limits and then simulation crashes. Actually when the piston is fully extended it acts as a rigid body, What I'd like to do is:- Extend the piston- Start rotating the levers- Stop rotating- Retract the pistonAny suggestion? I thought to replace the piston with a single part (a rod) but as simulation is not "correct" Any suggestion?Best regardsStefano
I am using Creo Parametric Release 12.4 and Datecode12.4.0.0I want to know the proper way to upload the new version of the license as it look different from the previous license.
Hello everyone, i am struggling with an issues and need some help. I created new line styles, I create them from "manage line style" and click on "new". I can't use them only in that specific drawing and i want to be able to use in any another drawings. How i can do that? I was looking to find the file where every default style is (geometry, hidden ecc), where the "line stye gallery" takes from but i am not have been able to find it. I found this Adding Custom Line Sytles to be used in Detailing - PTC Community and this Article - CS62031 - Is it possible to store *.lsl Line Font files in a specific directory in Creo Parametric The issues is that i can't find any .lsl file to copy from and know what to write to create this file.Aboute the template method mentioned in those links, it is possible to define a drawing template with line in it? Maybe i should fine the correct enviroment to create line add them to the options? Thank you for r
Hi I need an example code for attaching custom symbol/Annotation Balloon to dimension(Prefix/Suffix) based on the dimension displayed in the drawing . (Thanks in Advance)
Hello,we are using Creo 12.4.0.0. Scince this version we have a problem that the BUW_NAME from profiles (Aluminium) will translated from the German Profil to Profile. How can we prevent/correct this? Thanks for your help.RegardsUte
Hi,I have a question on working with imported features. The model I have contains surfaces / quilts which have been imported.I need to edit the model, for which i need to get into import doctor environment to make the changes.so, 1. I would like to have the quilts highlighted in the model tree as i pick it in the graphic window, currently this doesn't happen. is there a config to change this behavior?2. Is there an easy way to perform surface operations to get rid of multiple unwanted quilts (like using Revolve or extrude cuts). Currently, I could only identify the below option, but this gets rid of only one quilt at a time.Thanks.
Hi,Can anybody help me understand the logic behind how the layer grouping works in creo drawing?

Trailmaker is now a collection of small utilities:1 - TrailmakerA script to build customized trailfiles, to process files in batch mode. Here some ideas that you can make this script work for you:Export multiple parts to Step/IgesImport multiple Iges/Steps to Prt´sExport multiple Drawings to DXF/DWG/PDFExport/verify all instances of a family tableBring multiple parts/drawings into sessionPlot a lot of drawingsRun a mapkeyChange/add/delete ParametersModify Units/Mass PropertiesCreate Jpeg´s of multiple partsMix all this together...Lots of possibilities. Video Link : 5303 2 - AssemblerScript to assemble components (by default) in a assembly in batch mode;3 - FT-DrawingScript to create drawings for each instance of a family table; Video Link : 5305 4 - New_Drw Script to create a new drawing with same name of the active model;4 - Open_DrwScript to open a existing drawing with same name of the active model;Download link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/nprv7wx6u2iog2n/TrailMaker.zip?dl=0Open Readme
i know there is a api in toolkit to get a component's transformation matrix, like ProAsmcomppathTrfGet(). but as far as i know, the assembly component path is related with current assembly or current model in toolkit.how about i want to get a component's transformation matrix relatively to its parent assembly not current assembly.for example, there is a assembly A, it has a component B who has a component C. instead of using ProAsmcomppathTrfGet() to get path for C to A, i want to get the transformation matrix for C to B.is it possible to do so? can anyone show me a sample codes? many thanks.
Hi, Lets say I'm running an interference check on a large assembly, or saving PDFs of my 200 page drawing...something that takes time for Creo to process. I used to be able to open another session of Creo to work on other things, while the first was thinking... but now that we moved up to Creo 11, I am no longer able to do this. I have to wait till the first session of Creo is complete before using another session. Is there a config setting I should be looking to change? I know in Creo 3 it had something to do with the embedded browser in Creo, Figured I would ask here first before making another ticket to PTC.
Good afternoon i'm using a creo parametric 11 version, i'm trying for my drawing to populate the "code nr." and some other parameter as shown below automatically. For example a code can be "202500001_11" i want to manually apply che 202500001 code only on the main .asm parameter and use the same code also in all the .prt drawing on the repeat region.Actually i write this code on the relation of all the .prtDESCRIZIONE_ORDINE=DESCRIZIONE_ORDINE:1NOME_PARTICOLARE=rel_model_nameDISEGNATO=DISEGNATO:1ORDINE=ORDINE:1CODICE=CODICE:1DATA_CREAZIONE=DATA_CREAZIONE:1QNT=QNT:1And it works, but i cannot save this code in the start part of the .prt because of that ":1" that refer to the .asm and it does not exist in the new .prt.for the "_11" i'm using matching code like this and it workd perfectly also on the start part IF rel_model_name=="CAV_M"NR_PARTE="_11M"Can someone help me with the main code ?Thank you for your time and help.
Is there a better way to create tab and slot plate connections than manually drawing every line? I hope there is some technique where a tab can be replicated arrayed and then slots automated in the mating part. Boolean cut works but with this I don't have the option for clearance or dog bones.
How do I embed a decal so anyone (including myself) who opens the part with the decal will see it without them having to do anything.
Hello, Whenever I print to pdf, the point constraints result plot lose part of its resolution, making them close to unreadable. Is there a way to increase the font size of those particular fonts bigger? I have tried playing around with these config parameters with no luck: default_ui_font 10text_height_factor 40.000000model_tree_font 10
I'm trying to make a custom symbol that will act as a bubble number. We want to be able to have the number inside the bubble count up by one from its last iteration. The number in the bubble would need to be a variable text so we can always modify the number, and have it count up from the number input if the symbol is repeated from that iteration.EX: I use my custom symbol to put a bubble on the drawing and change the number to 10. When right clicking on the "10" bubble and repeating the symbol, it should give me a bubble with the number 11 in it. Is this something that would require the drawing to have custom parameters that calculate the last value and uses an equation to work? Is this possible to apply also to the repeat mode when putting the symbol on the drawing?
Reference from this topic. Hi, we are using netskope and recently came across a situation where all the users using netskope could not connect to license server or rather they could not get a license. The other users within the company network could get their licenses. How were you able to resolve your mentioned issue ?
In CREO cabling I have 8 cables going to one location in a flat grouping. Is there any way to re-organize the order of each wire in a flat grouping at a location? For example, in the images below I would like the red and black wire to stay in the same order as they come on the right. The final result I'm looking for is pink on top, then green, red, blue, black, white, light blue, white. This would be accomplished by moving red down 2 spots and black down 4 spots in the flat group. Then it wouldn't look like all the wires are crossing over each other. Using CREO 8.0.0.0 on Windows 11.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.9.0From one day to the next, the path for "pro_format_dir" and "start_model_dir" which are properly configured do not seem to work anymore. When starting a new part or assembly, it does not provide our start model.Same thing for the drawing, does not list our format. Here are the errors that I facedNo error, it simply does not bring our custom start_model and format
