Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Can someone tell me how to turn off 3D Annotation Display by default?  Every time I open an assembly the Annotation Display is set to show.  How to I set it to Hide when I open a file?

Hello. I am designing a electronics chassis that is going to be tested on a shake table. My issue is what are the proper boundary conditions?  I have been doing this for a long time and before I just constrained the bottom surface of the chassis. I have gone through several different variations of BC's  Now, I just constrain the bolt holes that are around the edge of the chassis. I am still not happy/comfortable with them. See attached picture of model. Anyone else have any experience or thoughts to the proper BC's.? Thanks in advance    

Thank you for reading my message. I need your option on this.  I am running a shock analysis of a electronic chassis. It is a 20g, 11ms, 1/2 sine wave.  I ran the analysis in the time domain and calculated some stresses around 15,000 psi.  I reran the analysis in frequency domain with an SRS frequency curve. My max stress was about 60 psi.  The first mode of my chassis is approximately 200 Hz. The frequency of the 11ms is 45 Hz (1/.022) =45 Hz). So I believe what is happening is during the time analysis, the chassis is seeing all the inertia/bending loading due to the acceleration of the chassis. While as in the frequency analysis, the chassis natural frequencies are so much higher than the input, it is not affected by the loads in the frequency input.  Does that sound right?  Thanks for any feedback. 

Hello, There are lots of issues here. I am trying to simulate a electronics chassis on a tray with LORD type isolators with the spring model. First, how do you make them visible in results. I cannot seem to see them. So run a static "check" simulation (1 G in one direction) and I get some results. The reaction check out, etc. I run an eigenvalue extraction. I get the model shapes (without springs) and they seem reasonable. I run a random vibration and I get the fatal error, saying that I have an unconstrained degree of freedom. The message continues that I should run a constrained Modal Analysis with rigid mode search to see the unconstrained degrees of freedom. Well, I did that and 1) I didn't have any rigid modes. (with the rigid mode option on and the lowest frequency to start the search at "0" Hz.  HELP. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to show 2 reps in the same section view? My client has a number of legacy drawings which show a cross section of a hydraulic cylinder, one half of the view  shows the piston at rest & the other half shows the piston at full stroke, is there a way of replicating this in Creo? The legacy drawings were created on an old 2D CAD system, but  they want the new drawings to replicate the old drawings.

I am having an issue with Drawing annotations from a 3D UDF.   I have created a UDF for Standard Nutplate holes. I have created the 3D Annotations in this UDF.   When I createa a Drawing view from the UDF the Annotation shows up just like I want.   When I use this UDF in a part, using the Modrl Tab and the User-Defined Feature, and create a view from the part I cannot create the 3D Annotaion.  There is not options to select.   I am trying to set up a standard UDF so all Designers are using the same nutplate hole size and locations and transfer that information from the UDF to our drawings so the Draft doesn't have to cerate the Dimensions and Notes for each drawing.   I am including pics of the UDF and the Drawing Views.   Any suggestions?

Hello,   We're developing an application for creo that uses the pfcls vb api. We need support for multiple version of creo and what I've observed is that each major version of Creo (>X<.y.y.y X=major version) requires its own pfcls assembly (.dll).    Is this true?    Thanks 

Hi, I have an assembly within some dimensions are set by input in pro/program.I would like to make some instances of this assembly to preset several size in a family table. Is it possible to have both solutions. Or, does I have to chose between program OR family table ? I've made some trails, but assembly can't regenerate anymore. Thanks  

Hi guys,   I have a problem with trail.txt file. I use the Version: Creo Student 5.0.4.0. My problem is i don't find any trail.txt file on my PC. The only file with the same ending is PRO_trl.txt. Is this the same file as trail.txt? If yes how I can play it with creo? The Button for Play trail file is gray I cant push it.

Hi All! I'm just getting to grips with putting together mechanisms in Creo Parametric 3.0, and I'm trying to get a straight line linkage to work. When I modelled it I could simulate movement by Ctrl+Alt+LMB, but as soon as I put some relations in, the dragging function stopped working. I have a part which has two instances. The two instances are used to create an assembly. The part has 1000 features. Now when I open only generic part and make some modification to hole placement then it is done quickly in 1 min.   But if I keep the assembly open and make some modification in generic then it takes 7 mins. Regenerating all three : The generic and two instances. total 3000 features. So how can I stop regeneration of instances while making changes to generic file and keeping the Assembly open.

Community,   The below symbol was made in creo 5, but only the triangle and left-hand leader.  The number was entered as a note.  How can I made a triangle symbol where the system prompts me to enter the number, like the flag note that comes in the pallette?  Thanks in advance.       I was trying to get \note_#\ into the custom symbol.  Does anyone know how to do this?

We are deploying Creo 3 M060 with SCCM.  The software installs fine but SCCM keeps stating that it has failed.  We have tried a few different detection methods and none give a positive result.  We are using SCCM 2012.  If you are using SCCM to deploy Creo what are you using as your detection method?

Hello, I am in the process of designing a push switch. The function of push switch is simple. There is an arm rotating on a hinge, the push button slides over the arm's surface and the push button slides inside the hole. As the arm returns the push button also returns. My problem is that I am able to rotate the arm, slide the arm over the push button surface and move it inside the hole. But, as the arm rotates back, the push button will not come to the original position. I have attached the images below.   Also, my animation for the same design is not working. I gave a servo kotor to the hinged joint(pin) of the arm. The arm doesn't move at all in the animation   Expecting an answer.   Thanks, Vignesh 

Community,   When I activate any one of the models in the model tree, it will not activate, and the entire assembly remains the default gray.  I am using Creo 6, and I have never encountered this type of problem before.  Has anyone seen this type of problem, and is there a fix for it?  Thanks in advance. 

I want to highlight a datum plane or datum axis in my model by selecting them from the model tree. They do not show in the model when selected from the tree unless I unhide/show all the datum planes/axes. Is there a setting that can be changed so that datums become highlighted when clicking on them from the model tree?   Many thanks, David

Hello  all   I have a big structure to mesh and I´m interested in performing a shock/dynamic analyse using Simulate 4.0. I am in a learning process in this type of analysis.   To reduce mesh size, I replaced the moving part by its CG as an advanced mass.   To connect this mass to its anchor structure using rigid links is not correct because the connection itself has some bending freedom. So, I thought to make individual connections to each anchor structure using weight links to avoid this over stiffening of the structure. A kind of compromise.   However, it is not possible to create different weight links sharing the same dependent side. To overcome this limitation, I created additional dummy points and connected them with the advanced mass using rigid links – I thought it reproduces well the original situation as the moving mass is a lot stiff than the anchor structure.   But firstly, I placed these dummy points at an arbitrary position. Since upgrading to CREO 6, the Dimension text pop-out window defaults to ALWAYS dislocate itself and start floating. This is incredibly annoying for many reasons, and I see that others have similar issues.   Using Mapkeys to tell the window to REATTACH will cause CREO to crash 9/10 times. I have resorted to always clicking the reattach manually, and even that causes crashes 4/10 times. Obviously just the worst when trying to detail a large drawing package.   Is there any config.pro option to return it to the previous functionality? Is there a "functionality improvement" that someones made so I can vote for PTC to remove this weird pop-out by default?
