Kepware

I use KepserverEX6.14 for linking Rockwell and siemens PLC's.We have 207 link tags in both directions. But we have troubles with 1 Siemens 1512 PLC when the communication drops (without voltage or network troubles). After the communication restores, kepserver can read the datablocks but CAN'T write to the datablock. The solution is then disable-enable tags, after this everything works like it should. My datatypes are boolean's and words (not defaults).There is a scan rate of 2000ms for PLC values. And the linked tags are written when input changes.I have tested with Auto-Demotion on and off (also with 'Discard Requests when Demoted' on/off) What can i try else?

Hi, I need to connect to KepserverEX 5.8 in a Windows 2000 Pro/Sp4 workstation with Ewon Flexy 205.The goal is using the ewon (in this case 5 of them) as middle point to communicate s7-300 PLC with Wonderware 8.0 using KepserverEX 5.8 as the OPC server. When configurating KepserverEX 5.8 channel i use OPC UA and configure UA server in the channel (see attachment 1) and when i try to import items on  the device to import the tags of the Ewons an error appear (see attachement 2).See attachement 3 for ewon configuration.Any suggestion to address this?

Hello, im setting up tags in Kepware where previously we have used RS linx, the booleans tags are all showing 0 when it should be a 1 and are not changing at all. The quality of the tag is good and its showing correctly (1) in RS linx but a 0 in kepware, anyone got any advice? Kepware server 7

I am trying to get a hold of Sales in order to purchase additional license options on my Kepware OPC Server package.  I have tried submitting a ticket but I received a "you are blocked" response to that.  I've tried calling but after being on hold for nearly an hour, it just disconnects me.  I mean, really?  I'm wanting to buy stuff from you.  Does PTC really make it that difficult to make a purchase?  Can someone PLEASE contact me? m.barnes@amrize.com

Please confirm whether a self-signed client certificate can be used by multiple servers.Will **OPC UA certificates automatically renew or extend their validity period?If the client certificate expires, will it affect the existing system? For example, could it cause issues such as EAP being unable to connect?

Atlascopco PF6000 Open Protcol lose data when I connect to OT network.When I connect  PF6000 with my laptop using Kepserver Open Protocol ,I'm able to read and write . But ,When I connect PF6000 to my sever through OT network ,I'm loosing data one or two data's are working .Could you please let me know ,what could be the issue ?

I have KepServer on PC IP 172.17.90.31 with Modbus TCP/IP Driver for Yokogawa DCS using ALE111 device with IP 172.17.90.30 communication. It seems comms is only established when Device ID in the project is <127.0.0.1>,0 and not with <172.17.90.30>,0. I understand this is due to ALE111 is Modbus Master in this case. I am facing issues where TAGs value are not accurately updating in some TAGs, but some are ok. I also have issue where the real parameter values in data type "float" always show "0" and do not update on live run. If I stop the KepServer service via Windows "runtime - End Task" and then restart KepSever project, the QC on initial handshake will display the last stopped value or stored value on the parameter TAGs, but on second update onwards, it will go back to "0" value and no update. I can successfully write to these parameter TAGs via QC and confirm the handshake with device. Can I please get support, if the Project configuration needs modification or Device pr

We have a successful connection from KEPServer to a Siemens PLC using Siemens TCP/IP Ethernet. The only issue we are having is that when the PLC is powered off, we are filling up the KEPServer event log with hundreds of entries per hour. . Is there any way for KEPServer to deactivate the tags while the PLC if offline, and re-activate when the PLC is powered back up?  

Is it possible to access other Channels' Tag data from within a Universal Device Driver profile? I need to save some Tag data to a csv or text file and am looking at the possibility of using UDD in File Mode to periodically write the data values from a channel (Modbus TCP for example) to file.  I'm just not yet sure if there's a way to access 'outside' Tag data from within the UDD Channel/profile. 

We need to pull data out of an old 5/250 but Kepware is preventing us from entering the address as they need to be.  the PLC5 architecture is "N7:40" for example but in the PLC5/250 it requires a leading digit to identify which module the address is in so "N7:40" in a 5/250 would be "0N7:40".  Has anyone had any experience with this? THank you,Dean

Hello, We are currently running Ignition（SCADA soft） on Linux and would like to use KEPServerEX as the OPC server/gateway. However, the documentation indicates that KEPServerEX is Windows-only, and using Windows is not an option in our environment.We also considered other options such as KEPServerEX Edge, but the available drivers/licensing do not match the PLC we need to connect to, so Edge does not meet our requirements either.Questions / what we are trying to achieve:Are there any plans for KEPServerEX to support Linux (either natively or officially via containerization/other supported deployment methods)?Our goal is to acquire data from a PLC using KEPServerEX and then provide that data to Ignition (e.g., via OPC UA). What is the recommended approach when Ignition is running on Linux and Windows cannot be used?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Im having issues trying to communicate KepServerex V5 5.13 with BACnet server Automated Logic WebCTRL. The server have some HVAC, eletrical and Diesel equipments, but some of these devices are listed on ARCnet network. I can connect to my Engel IMM via UA Expert, but I am unable to find the information to make the same connection via Kepware Server.  Where can I find the information or can someone provide me the information.

I've to do a migration from KEPServerEX 5.8 to KEPServerEX 7, step by step, using a BRIDGE KEPServerEX 7 solution, that initially it is connected in OPC-UA to all OLD channel/device/tags of KEPServerEX 5.8.Then in a new Server with KEPServerEX 7 we migrate step by step each original channel, then connecting the BRIDGE to the new one migrated.Finally we will have the BRIDGE only linked in UA Client to the new KEPServerEX 7 migrated, and no more to the old one KEPServerEX 5.8. Now we are testing this migration scenario creating in Kepware 7 BRIDGE an OPC-UA Channel to Kepware 5.8 OLD, but we have some issue when the remote Channel in Kepware 5.8 is it self an OPC-UA driver.In some cases, the tags seems to be unknown and in bad quality, why ?The issue happen also if I try to read the remote TAGs via UAExpert tool To understand/replicate the issue I have done also another example locally, in order to exclude network and OPC-UA configuration, both in

Hi,We currently have around 30 KEPServerEX installations with perpetual (node-locked) licenses on different machines. We are planning to replace those machines one by one, but we want to make sure we do the transfer correctly without risking:• losing the licenses• having them become invalid• or incurring additional costsWe understand that the standard procedure is to use License Utility → Transfer a product activation to generate a transfer request file, upload it to the PTC licensing portal, and then activate the license on the new machine.However, in our case, we do not currently have access to the original PTC licensing account / login information that was used when these licenses were activated. I have a python code that reads data from excel and sends to kepware, I am trying to set this up and setup the tags in kepware as a server, and the python as a client. This will eventually be connected to a DeltaV system which is another client, but for now I want to test my code sending data into Kepware. Which drivers should I use for this purpose?
