HelloI hope somebody could help me.I have this function with a table which shows the "a_hoch" and "a_lang" values. I want to show the angle "alpha" as well in this table. How could I do this? Unfortunately I can not upload the file. Thanks a lot and best regardsAndreas
Hi there , I want to stack one value in a matrix in the correct order , but when I use stack function I can put it only in the beginning or at the end like this : I want to put that -13.75 in the correct place which is in the middle in this case . How to use stack function and order the values in the same time Thanks
So, I'm about to introduce Mathcad to a new bunch of Mechanical Engineers. I've used Mathcad my whole career (recently retired). To those new to the software, I demonstrate how I use it to document and refine calculations. In the days when I was in the office, I'd sit with Engineers individually and show them several things that are not clearly explained upfront (all the different meanings of the = symbol). Managing subscripts and indexes, also spotting the difference between them. So, thinking of all the things we learned the hard way, let's think of a collection of what you wish they'd taught you upfront. Suggestions? Bob Adams, aka RantEng
qc is determined in each z point . I need to find the average of qc in each layer . the layer thickness is dz I need mathcad to find the average values of qc that correspond to dz values
Hello Everyone. From : To : How to calculate Area of Parametric (closed) Curve, the above ? ( MathCad 15 ) Thanks in advance. Regards. Loi
I am trying to write out the correct If statement that would calculate the Fb value depending on the user selected C value for whichever conservation criteria they choose. I have defined Fy and C and this Fb calculation would be down below this area to feed into further calculations in the document. EDIT: This is in Prime 11.0
Hello, beginner here! Can someone please help and tell me how I can generate a table or vector for my values a_hoch and a_l? I want Mathcad to calculate a_l dependent on a_hoch for different a_hoch. Is there any possibility Mathcad can do that so that I dont have to type everything individually? So in the picture a_hoch is 460. But I also want solutions for 461, 462, 463, and so on... I hope someone can help me. Thank You in advance!
Im unable to open my Mathcad Prime 11.0.1.0 Student Edition. The app randomly crashed on me one day and when I tried opening it again, it does not do anything. No white screen, no error message, nothing happens. I've tried installing Mathcad Prime 10 but I am unable to use the files that I have in older editions. I've tried multiple things:- I've uninstalled and reinstalled.- Deleted Files and tried running it.- Tried running it using different compatibility modes.- Tried running it as an administrator.- Created Backup files.- Nothing worked.- Restarted computer Again, I'm not sure how to fix this. If you could please assist me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Dear community, Can someone help me solve the integral of the following equation in Mathcad 7.0.0.0? Only J(x) and tau(x) vary with x, and the rest are constants. Thanks in advance
Dear ptc community, I am trying to plot a solved parameter of nonlinear equations (J) vs x (a variable that can range from 0 to 0.5. I have tried to plot it, but I got only a point rather than a continuous line plot. Can you please help me with it? I have attached my Mathcad (7.0.0.0) file for your reference. Thanks in advance.Kind regards,Tadele
Hi there! I want to get one value interpolated from the parameter, obtained from the calculation routine. The goal is to perform interpolation of the curvature value Curvature (Alef, the second output's result) as a function of the bending moment value (Moment, the first output's result) from the given value of M_fact. By using the "linterp" function, I got stuck with the error message:"The elements in this vector must be in ascending order". After reviewing the relevant topic on the PTC forum, the only possible solution was to start the list of matrices at 1, yet my attempt to set ORIGIN:=1 hadn't worked. I use the Prime 10.0.0 version of the software. The file with the problem is attached. I'd be very appreciative of any assistance and advice regarding the issue.
The Bad Idea Fairy was drunkenly wandering through my brain, stomping down the grass with his size 13 boots, singing off-key, scaring the squirrels, and littering the place with ... well, bad ideas. However, whilst I was pretending to tidy up, I looked at one of those ideas and thought, "Hmm. Maybe he'd stolen that one from his twin brother, the Good Idea Fairy (you can't tell them apart, sometimes)?". The idea? "Now that Mathcad 11 has introduced Python Scripting, maybe it's time to introduce a Mathcad equivalent of PEP 20?". Instead of proposing a "Feature Request" or reporting a suspected bug, perhaps we could introduce an MEP (Mathcad Enhancement Proposal)? Starting with: MEP 00 – The Zen of Mathcad 1. >>> Range Variables Are Not Vectors <<<.2. Think in two dimensions for layout and data.3. Be like Zathras-- cover all possibilities. Zathras does not want other people being confoosed.4. Yesterday's friendly hard limits
I'm using MathCAD Prime 9.0.0.0. MathCAD is always forcing Units of Measure. Usually it'll choose appropriately based on the data going into it. However, sometimes it's wrong or uses weird units and won't allow me to override. A work around is I can not use units at all or I can put in a 2nd equation without units, but I shouldn't have to do that. One of the advantages to MathCAD is I can use multiple units in the same equation and MathCAD knows the difference. In this case...I want......but I get...I want......but I get... Thanks, Brent
"Problem. A Poisson stream of requests arrives at a single-channel queuing system with loss. The time between the arrivals of two consecutive requests is distributed according to the law the service time of requests is random and distributed according to the lawFind using the Monte Carlo method over a time period T=30 min: a) the number of served requests; b) the average service time of one request." If possible, please provide screenshots of the solution to the problem using Mathcad so that I can understand and clarify the essence of the solution..
To whom this may concern, Looking for help on how to setup Matrix headers for the attached. I would like to have a Title above each column for each variable, and the corresponding units shown in the matrix. See remarks in red within the attached. Many thanks,Iain FYI, I use Mathcad Prime 10.0.0.0
Dear PTC Community,I am working on a system of coupled nonlinear equations and attempting to solve it using a Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 Solve Block. The solve block runs without errors and returns numerical values for my unknowns. However, when I validate the solution outside the solve block, I find that one of the variables ( J), which appears in two different model equations, gives two different values when recalculated. I expected these equations to converge to a consistent solution for J, but they do not.In other words, even though the solve block returns values for three different variables (J, E, ε), the two J expressions do not evaluate to the same value of J when I recompute them using the solved ( E and ε).I have attached my Mathcad file.Could someone please review it and help me understand why the solve block returns a result but the two governing equations do not match when checked afterwards?I would be very grateful for your insight. Kind regards,Tadele
Hello All, How do I solve for "a" symollically? "a" represents the maximum cantilever length. (0.125) is the maximum deflection in inches at the end of "a". I have attached MC11 sheet. Regards,Sam
Hi there,Any ideas why this is wrong? I made f as function of M in order to define it RegardsYusra
Hello everybody. I have a general question: How do I define the solution interval for the simple first/second order DE?Example:The DE y**-9y = 0, has two solutions: y1=e^3x and y2=e^(-3x). How do I define the solution interval here? I need merely a simple explanation of how to proceed in order to find the solution interval (in general also). Linear independence:Question: What does it mean for the "real" world? What do we get by knowing that the solutions of a given DE is linearly dependent or independent? Best regards,Sergey
I'm planning to run Prime11 on a laptop Lenovo AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, 20 GBRAM 512SSD. MathCAD would run correctly, very well, badly? Thanks
Mathcad Prime 11 is ok with the units of atm and psi but has issues when trying to use bar and kpa in all but the SI unit system. Why does these pressure units only are valid in SI unit system? For example, I get the following error messages when in CGS unit system: "This variable is undefined. Check that the label is set correctly." When I switch back to the SI unit system it works and removes the error message.
Mathcad Enhancement Proposal: Change Mathcad's numerical representation of infinity to the IEEE 754 floating-point standard. When dealing with large numbers, representing infinity as 10^307 can lead to numerical errors and yield ambiguous or unreadable results. Note: Python math, NumPy, Mathematica and Matlab all give correct results. I don't know why 2^1020 is allowable, but 2^n, where n:=1020, raises an error. Stuart (Numerical ∞ = 10307 has annoyed me since Mathsoft Mathcad days. At least change ∞ to ⧜ (U+29DC Incomplete Infinity)
Hi, I have a DLL with .Net Framework in c#. I want to integrate this Dll into Mathcad. I tried lots of method to integrate this but software didn't recogniz this Dll. I also add this Dll prime/Custom functions and the same file. I also make a wrapper dll with using c++ and add as reference this c# dll. But it doesn't work. Could you please help me?
IMHO the first line should evaluate OK. Reason for Prime failing is because it automatically assigns the 0 an "appropriate" unit even though Prime is not using SUC (static unit check). As a result, Prime naturally refuses to add 0 kg and the unitless 1. A unitless value different from 0 works OK as can be seen in the second line. Workaround (which should not be necessary) is using "zero" instead of "0". There is no problem if the vector contains values of different dimensions or even
MC15 allows a label to be added to an area, so when it's collapsed the label can be seen. In Prime 9.0 I can create areas but can't figure out how to add the labels. In MC15, when I collapsed all the areas, the labels showed the analysis/calculation flow which is real nice. Is this functionality lost in prime?
