Hi All,Please answer my questions below on ACL's1. What is the difference between an ACL and an Adhoc ACL ?2. How do we enable Adhoc ACL's ? Like we will have to configure the system in such a way where within one organization we will have to allow authorized users to define Adhoc ACL's for all products and libraries. Hi @all,for debugging trigger scripts i need access to the server.log. I know of two ways to get this access: - some kind of access to the filesystem, where the server.log is located. Either direct or as a share.- via admin-clientThe first way is not possible in my company, direct access to server-filesystems are generally prohibited or at least limited to a very small group of admins. The second way is possible, but very uncomfortable. At the admin-client i always see the last 500 lines of the log, and our admin doesnt want to increase this number, because he wants to avoid some heap-size-problems. 500 lines is not enough in most cases, but even if i could persuade the admin to increase this to 2000 lines or so, i doubt that this will be always enough.Anybody has knowledge of another way to get access to the log-files?Thanks, Jens   

Hi All,Can you please answer the below questions in Lifecycle and Roles 1.)  I had created a custom role and a custom life cycle using enumcustomize. Without using enumcustomize can we create a new lifecycle or role in any other way? Can you please let me know ?2.)  I had created a new role using enumcustomize and I had added it to the PRODUCT -> TEAM -> ROLES. However whenever I tried creating a new Advanced Lifecycle in Lifecycle template administration and then when I navigate to ROLES Tab I am not able to find the new role that I created there. Hi All,I created a role using enumcustomize and all the users who are associated with that role should be able to do only following actions.1.) Should be allowed to set state2.) Should not be allowed to create folders, move and promote objects. 3.) Should not be allowed to create documents but should be allowed to check out, modify and check in documents.4.) Should be having read only access to parts.We will have to configure/display the actions in the system in such a way such that the role related users will be in a position to view only those required actions in the UI and that displays menus or actions that are allowed to use.How do we implement this ? Like I guess for some of the actions we can use Profiles. But not for all. So for the remaining actions how to do that ? Using ACL's or Profiles or in any other way. Kindly let me know like how to implement all these actions.Best Regards,Aditya

We have recently changed from DTD to a schema. Since doing so we have lost our entities/symbols from the drop-down list. From what I have read on this forum site, it appears that PTC has not made an atempt to resolve this issue. I am wondering if anyone has come up with a solution. I would appreciate if anyone could provide a few suggestions. Thanks

Hi All,Can you please answer below 2 questions on Versioning Scheme ?1. ) Can I use an Alphabetic Versioning Scheme for a sub type object and a Numerical Based Versioning Scheme for its parent object ? Like to elaborate it, I want to use Numerical Versioning Scheme to "WTPart" and Standard Versioning Scheme to its sub type "CustomPart" ? Is it possible in Windchill ?  Can you please let me know about it once ?2.) If I am using a Standard Alphabetic Versioning Scheme for both WTPart and its subtype CustomPart and if I dont want to use or skip the characters like A, D, G, I, K, L, M etc. only for its subtype CustomPart but not for WTPart. Is there a way to transfer Creo licence from old to new server?

What happened to linear dimensions snapping into center (between arrows)? I see the list for creo3 says "improved dimension UI for better workflow" or something similar. There must be something I am missing? Taking a lot longer to make a print does not equal better workflow to me.Other then that creo3 has been decent (versus creo2), except making the icons more monotone seems like another step back as it's easy to identify icons by color when they are different colors.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. The attached worksheet attempts to search a vector and if any values are "single" they are replaced with "group" and the value directly after it is multiplied by 2. In the attached worksheet (first attached jpeg) this doesn't work, however in a prior worksheet (second attached jpeg) it does work. Why is this?Also, is there a function (such as an if function) that can search an entire vector for "group" and if it finds it anywhere then perform a line-by-line operation such as that above?

Hi, Here i am facing a new problem in Creo 2.0. I am not able to set the default working directory. Whenever I close and open the creo. It’s getting resetting to the My Document folder. Can anyone help me on this regards. I want fix the folder and it should not get changed on it own.ThanksDeena

Hello PDM-Link gurus,What would be the code I need to put into the Complete Transition of a Change Task user activity to prevent them from completing the task if any of the Resulting Object files on that change task are checked out, and spit out a popup window saying "Please check in all Resulting Objects before proceeding"? If a Set State robot hits a checked-out file it freezes the task with the oh-so-fun Failed Queue Entry error and we've been getting hit by that a couple of times now, so I need to prevent it.Please advise,Daryl

Hello,We get errors when entries inside the the original xml files of:   Maintlvl = "field" and, wpinfo = "new" are not accepted by Arbortext.  How can we fix this?This is not an issue on 2 of our PCs.  The other 4 PCs use a reinstalled ArborText application.  All PCs are set to use DTD 3.27 for this project, it's mandated by the customer for this phase of the project.Any help is greatly appreciated.  My direct e-mail is Delores.Annajee@ubtus.com

Hi! We're using Arbortext Editor 6.0 m080. It looks like there is a limitation on how many characters will display in the tags. Some of our attributes are very long. This wasn't an issue in the previous version (5.1) that we used. Does anybody know how to remove the limits on tag display?

I think this was a thread some time back, we upgraded to 6.1M080 and CGM graphics are not viewing. We have Isoview and Creoview on all workstations. It worked in 6.0, somehow it is not picking it up in 6.1. Any ideas or solutions.

After to insert a image in a cylindrical surface, do you know how to rotate the image??I have added a creo file, and I want  to rotate the image 90°, somebody help me with this issue please

Notebook/Layout: In previous versions (prior to Creo 3.0), users we're able to just double click in the table cell to edit the value of a parameter. Now when double clicking, the system tries to edit the parameter name instead of the value. Is this just a config setting or the new way of doing things? Hello,   One of my scripts generates mapkeys that are over 1.5k lines long and I'm curious if anyone knows if there is any limit to the length of a single mapkey? Could be a maximum of characters. Hi,I am developing and java application which require lot of processing and I don't want user to wait till my application finishes processing.So I came up with splitting application in tow parts client side and server side both of them will run asynchronously.I am familiar with integrity API and at client side I can work with it.How do I run my java code at server side and do all required processing there?Does integrity provides any facility for this?
