Hi,how to branch an item? I had already enabled the type attribute of "may have branched", but it didnot work

Hello all,I was wondering if anyone knows how to get creo on a computer running on Wndows 8.1? And if I need to update creo when will that update be availible? Because i just got a shiny new HP Pavillion for the holidays and I've been using creo alot for this current season but on a seperate computer that was running on windows 7. I don't believe the windows 8 version runs on windows 8.1. So if anyone knows when the update will be availible that would be glorious. Thank you!-Bo

For Document management in Windchill, I am seeking input on when to use Primary vs. Secondary Content as well as Object naming, in general. First, with regards to Object Naming, some are recommending we name a Document record 123TBD.docx while others recommend simply 123TBD (w/ no file extension). Note the Primary Content in this example would be the 123TBD.doc. Also, if there is a 123TBD.xls which supports this document some are recommending we include this as Secondary content while others recommend creating a 123TBD WT Part along with a 123TDB.xls document record and associate both the .doc and .xls objects to the WT Part. Any thoughts on this subject are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hello,I have a question regarding assembly family tables.Lets say I have an assembly with three parts, A, B and C. A and B are assembled at a certain distance from each other and C connects parts A and B, and has a variable length.Now I create an assembly family table where I create multiple instances of the assembly by varying the distance between A and B, the result should be that in each assembly instance part C has a different length. This is ofcourse only possible by creating an instance of C for every instance of the assembly.Now my question is, is it possible to have Creo create an instance of the part C automaticaly each time I create a new instance at the assembly level?Or is the only way to achieve this, creating a family table at the part level, and replace part C in each assembly instance by the correct part instance?ThanksJonathanThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have read MANY articles/posts and watched many video's on this topic and I am still not able to figure it out (which is sad).I have some text which is wrapped around a cylinder more than 180 degree's (see image below). I have read that I need to create an offset surface and project my text onto this offset surface...the problem is that the text wraps around the entire cylinder. I can NOT project all the wrapped text on an offset sketch plane (does this make sense?).Here is a very boiled down image of what I would like to wrap/extrude:

Has anyone had any luck setting up a source of numbers that does not drop numbers or otherwise create gaps in the sequence?

I am stuck on something very simple and hopefully there is an easy answer. I need to round all of the values in a matrix to the nearest integer. I have provided a quick worksheet to work with as an example. I have scaned through all of the functions for vectors and matricies and do not see anything helpful. I am using mathcad prime 3.0.

Hi all,I have a drawing that I showed some dimensions, then I RMB>erase them - then I decided that I want to show them again. I cannot figure out how to re show them. Hi ..I have windchill pdmlink 10.2 m010 installed. it looks like this version has only one log file i.e. log4j copared to erlier versiosn.in earlier version we used to have three 2 excluding GC file for each MS. i.e. MS.log and log4jI used same manage file property in 10.2 to restrict the file size to 9mb but did not workedso is there any other property for 10.2 .. let me know how to restrict the file size in 10.2

Ok, So, I know how to make BOMs auto populate but I am having a reallllllylyyy hard time finding how to make the BOM list the properties I want it to. I would like to have the BOM automatically populate a field "refrence number" as can be set in the 3d part file in define attributes (as well as material name description etc those I know how to do) but I can not find an option in the report symbol menue that lets me select the part's refrence number. WF 4.0Anyone have any ideas how I can get the BOM to list the refrence number from the part?Better yet, anyone have a list of what the heck all those abbreviated things in the report symbol list are?asm mbr user defined (how does this help? where would i enter the info in the part file?) cblprm?????? cblprms???? comp???? connprm????? cparam????? Something has changed. I have no idea what. Hope y'all can help. I try to live by the admonition :"save early and save often" When I hide a layer or component or assembly, it remains hidden when I re-open the file. This used to not be the case - I swear, I have NEVER saved layer states. Really. NEVER, EVER. I renamed my config.pro file (old_config.pro) so the stock config.pro file is loaded (I hope). This is ridiculous. I have been using Pro/E for ~18 years and recently moved to Creo2. I cannot find how to enter the density of a model. I even used the PTC help - which you need maintenance to access. I have maintenance, and can access it - it still infuriates me that PTC does that. And where did my $1800 go? I expect that I should be able to find the answer to my very simple question given the cost for help. No, I came up completely empty. This is the first time I've seen Creo Help. It is the worst I have ever seen.   Anyway, hopefully you all are knowlegable and generous with your knowledge. HelloI was wondering if any of you had any ideas on how to sort out an issue that I am having.I have a pretty simple review, approve release workflow that is initiated every time a certain type of object is created. Now when it goes through the default type activities in the workflow you can add a comment in the comment field and select a routing.What I am having a problem with is the fact that these comments, which should be showing up in the process status section of the task but they only appear if you are an admin and I need them to be there for standard users.Is there also a better way of communicating changes/comments on a standard task to the next user in the cahin other than this process.Bear in mind that I am not a developer and have limited Java knowledge. I just utilise the configuration tools to help me get thesystem up and running.Thanks in advanceOleg

Our company recently started using windchill and currently I am the one in charge of moving all our parts into the database. Things are moving slowly but everything seems to be going in fine. The problem were running into however is with the products 'Revision" state. I need a way to manually choose what revision the part is. I can select a part and press "Revise" but that only moves the part one revision step (from A to B for example). Some of the parts I am imputting are on their 15th or 20th revision so it would be impractical to do this for every part. Is there anyone that can help?

Hello,please scroll down in the attached sheet where i start to evaluate the function for a certain range, then i need to put the results in a vector format so i can use some of the values inside the vector. i am not sure why the functions are not evaluating the variables in the range. Thanks!

Good Day All   Another question re weld symbols.   I am trying to create a weld symbol for a joint containing a bevel and a fillet. I found the COMBINE weld symbol in the library and this looks (to me!) as though I can create a symbol for my requirements. Unfortunately it does not, I can only choose one weld symbol per side whereas I need a bevel and fillet symbol combined.   I have trawled the forum and online training and cannot find a good tutorial on symbol editing. can anyone point me in the right direction or help?   Many Thanks

Hi allI'm trying to make a small computation program that would split a thicker layers into thinner ones and would put the split layers into one column.In the attached computation sheet I have demonstrated what I would like to find first for a one layer system, then for a 2 layer system, butthe problem is that I haven't been able to make it work for n -layered system.Thanks for your advices.

Hi all.We wrote plugin for Arbortext 6.1. The issue 1: We want to add our custom menu items to View (that is in menubar) our plugin looks for .View menu item like that: _window.MenuBar.Find(".View")when we work for example under French locale we cannot find this menu. We want to add our menu independably on what locale currently is used. Is it possible ? The issue 2: We don't want to add our menu to windows like "Parser Messages".Right now we just compare text of window with this string: ((IComponent) window).Text != "Parser Messages";so if window title equals to "Parser Messages" we do nothingbut for other locales it won't work due to different textHow can we solve it?

When I model a part, I dont see any reference plane in the modelisation window. I see the ''RIght'', ''Top'' and ''Front'' plane in the model tree, but these are not visible in the mod window.
