Hello,we use WTProperties to configure our custom Windchill applications (written in Java).If we want to change some configuration values, we have to use the "xconfmanager" to apply the changes.This process seems unnecessarily complex.We are looking for easier ways, such as application-level property files (java.util.Properties) located as resources on the classpath).Are there any substantial advantages in using Windchill xconf (WTProperties) over classic Java property files?Thank you in advance for your opinionsmp.

Hello PTC Community,I am currently trying to set up a completed project as a template project that includes all assemblies, sub-assemblies, parts and associated drawings. What I need to accomplish is to be able to make a copy of an existing finished project (including drawings) to a seperate unlinked file, then modify that copy as a seperate (stand alone -no links back to original) project.I am able to 'Save As' a copy by using the main pull-down, which allows me to assign a new project number to each related item name by checking the 'Use a Template' box and assigning the new number. (Copies seem to be unlinkes as required) The issue is that even with the 'Copy Associated Items' , Copy Drawings box checked, the file only copies the assembly and parts. (No copied Drawings). This causes me to have to repeatedly create new drawings from scratch instead of having the copied file modify a full set of drawings as the model is changed.My questions are as follows:Is there something I can do t

I'm trying to calculate motor torque using a standard equation that includes a constant that obviously has units associated with it, but are not named.I've pasted an image of the M' sheet as well as attaching the sheet in XPS format. The basic motor torque formula uses the constant 33000. Does anyone know off hand what units I would need to give this to make the formula come out corredtly? The output is lbf-ft. I did the unit-less calculation underneath the formula so show what the answer should be.

I have to do some calculations within one sheet which I have to repeat a couple of times.For example:Input:ACalculations:B = A + 1C = A * 3D = B / CAnd then I want to publish both B, C and D.My (printable left side) should look like:A = x B = x C = x D = xThe formulas need to be located somewhere on the right side page.But I want to be able to re-use the formulas so my left page will look like:A.1 = x B.1 = x C.1 = x D.1 = xA.2 = x B.2 = x C.2 = x D.2 = xand I don't want to have to copy all the formulas all the time.I know I can work with matrices, but that's not what I want. Hi!I've written a large Given/find Solve block, and read previous answers to questions like this where intermediate steps were incorrect. Each of my intermediate steps solves fine, but the final Find() statement still throws the "This variable is undefined." error!Would some kind soul possibly look at my sheet (attached) and see if they can find the problem?Thank you!

I'm running Mathcad 14 M020 (single user license) under Win 7/64, using it to process experimental data. We recently upgraded the apparatus; one of the side effects was that the data sets grew. They are presently in the one to two million point range, and are expecting to grow further. I have seen and lived with all of M14's memory issues, which are well described here http://communities.ptc.com/message/17779 I've been very tempted by Prime 2.0, which I understand is available in a 64 bit version. Before I make the jump I'd really appreciate it if some of you who have gone before would share your experiences. Specifically:Can 64 bit Prime 2.0 handle larger matrices than the earlier 32 bit versions of Mathcad? My M14/020 runs out of memory when its usage (monitored with Task Manager) reaches 1GB (+/-15%). Hopefully somebody can help me out with an issue I'm having related to a model and graphics performance. I'll describe the problem below.Modeling a helical sweep at a length of 6.000 in., 0.085Ø., pitch 0.075 in. and section profile Ø0.010 in. This is a resistor coil used inside an electric resistance heater element and when I manipulate the model(zoom, move, regenerate and etc...) It takes several seconds/minutes. Does anybody have any idea on alternate method of created this type of a feature which will not significantly slow down Creo 2.0? I've duplicated the feature creating a helical cure using an equation and sweeping it but I did not see any improvement in graphic performance.This is something I lived with for several years, usually I suppress the feature or hide the component until needed but I thought somebody may have discovered a work around or better practice and would be willing to share. HiWhile using the WC 10, I am facing problem with the navigator. It is disappearing from the screen after clicking on something in Navigator. To get it again i need to click the refresh button of the browser. Seems like it is a software compatibility problem. I am using JDK1_6_18 and IE7. I have been playing around with Mathcad Prime 2.0 and have been rather impressed with how simple and intuative it is to use compared to previous versions of Mathcad. I love the mathematical notation because I don't have to learn an awful c-based programming language (eg Matlab), to do my work. That was until I discovered that to compose the functions f(x) and g(x), instead of the intuitive mathematical notation f.g(x), you have to resort to f(g(x)), which looks more like programming and less like maths. It looks particularly horrible when used on multiple functions f(g(h(k(m(n(x)))))) and has you counting parentheses (somewhat reminiscent of lisp, but without the awesomeness) versus the more elegant and correct f.g.h.k.m.n(x)Surely, this can't be that hard to implement?

I am havining trouble getting degrees out of my trig calculations. I am calculating sin(12.414) which in mathcad comes out to -0.152. On my calculator (set on deg mode) I get the answer of 0.2149. I am trying to get mathcad to spit out the 0.2149 number. Can any one help me with this? Thanks!

Hello all,We can import relations into our models using a text file but if there are already some previous relations in the model they get erased when importing the file. Is there any way of preserving the already existing relations when importing new ones?Thanks,A. Baridó

I am a beginner with programming in Mathcad. I am having trouble understanding how to use FOR Loops to dump results to a matrix from which I can extract values to plot in a graph. I wish to solve a non-linear equation and evaluate this function for a range of values and then graph the results in the form of a Bifurcation Diagram. The non-linear equation becomes chaotic at certain input force values.I have constructed a Runge Kutta 4th order function to integrate the equation and develop the displacement and velocity time waveforms - no problem. As a first step I want to evaluate the equation for a range of forces and store the velocity (Y2) versus time (Y0) waveforms in a matrix. As a second stage I want to sample the velocity waveform after it has stabilised (after say 100 cycles) at periopdic intervals to see if the velocity amplitude remains stable or whether a chaotic behaviour occurs.The attached Mathcad file has the integration front end and my attempt at a nested FOR loop to ind

Problem1-> Why cant creo extrude the closed loop in any of the three surface...i dont find any pblem why its should not extrude in the above part.Problem2-> Now, if i sketch in the other plane and extrude towards the solid creo shows an weird logic for solid modelling....i mean if the distance is less than 20 solid extrudes...if its greater than 20 solid extrudes.....but why it fails if extrude distance is same as the width i.e 20....:((((((CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY CREO IS BEHAVING IN SUCH A WAY ?

Windows 7 x64, M15 010I multiplied a 3x1 matrix by a 1x9 and got the result. Wanted to display as a table, not a matrix. Used A:=B*C=Even though I could then /select/ the table option, it would not display. I had to use A=This is prolly well known, but I couldn't find the correct buzzwords during search to turn it up. I have not tried this technique in a while, but was sure that I used it in M14/15 on XP Pro x32.~R~
