I am trying to do a simple calculation using a coefficient of thermal expansion. But the result is not as expected. The units of thermal expansion coefficient are in/in/deg F.I attached a sample spreadsheet in Mathcad 15. The answer should be 0.936in but I cant seem to get that. What am I doing wrong.

Hello,I've got an object that is in a wrong state. It is a workflow template. The Workflow Administrator shows me it as checked out (with a yellow mark), but it is impossible to check in it or to undo check out. And if I edit it and save it, the modifications are not taken account, no new iteration is created.I suspect that the object is actually checked in but one of its attribute is wrongly set to "checked out".I had a look in the database, but I do not understand how checkout functionnality works into it.This is an extract of WFPROCESSTEMPLATE. There are 75 iterations of my object: "ECDoc_UnderReview". hello, I am new to mathcad programming. I am trying to create a program which has te following input: a function and matrix made of a variable number of rows and a column (a vector). The solution of the function for every element of the vector is a vector. I am trying to make a program which will stack the results for every value of the function, with the argument take from the vector.To better understand what I am trying I attached the file.Thank you.

Hi fellow MCrs,I'm trying to display varying values in a RTF textbox. I'd like to pass over a variable to the RTF command line (as supplied by Samir Khan) and it is displayed with all powers and indicees in the proper place. Apparently, the command line does take the varibale name literally and instead of the variables content I get the variable name; see attached MC file (MC 15)Does anybody with a deeper RTF knowledge know a work around?Thanks in advanceRaiko

Hi guys. I have an important question. I have a my full program of OFDM and a laser to modulate it in Matlab. its optical communication. Now I have a solid complicated nonlinear Schrodinger equation that defines my optical fibre. To program it in matlab, it might take ages. Cause it concerns partial derivative and so on. so I thought may be I can write that equation in Mathcad, and get the data across the laser to Mathcad. Do the math and get the values back to Matlab. Is that possible? thank you. If you have any suggestion on this or perhaps any tutorial, please share it with me. Thank you very much!

I would like to see the result of my many pages long mathcad calculation on the first page. Is this possible?In other words, if I change the value of a variable in the first row, and that affects the equations on the last row, I have to scroll to the end of the file to see the effect. Or do I?For a number of reasons, using Areas to hide a block of rows is not a good solution in this case.Thanks!

Hello,I have understood how to create ACL on a product from scratch. You create your convenient script and you use the command Windchill LoadFromFile etc.But I'm doing customization on an existing platform: the ACL are already created for the products and I have to modify them. I have not found another way to do it else to do it manually via the GUI for each product . I've tried various scripts but it fails.Do you know how to do ?Thank you for your support. I have just started using Mathcad, and i think it is a fantastic resource. I am trying to determine the moment capacity of a reinforced concrete beam. I have a number of equations that all depend on one another and need to solve for one of the variables. I have done this in excel using the goal seek function but i would prefer to use mathcad as it presents the results much better. I have tried to use a solve block with out any luck.the basic theory is that some of the beam is in compression and the rest is in tension, I need to move the deviding line (the neutral axis) up or down until the forces balance, ie the sum of forces (compression and tension) are equal to zero.I have attached the worksheet, if anyone can help i would realy appreciate it. I have highlighted the equations in yellow, they are at the bottom of the sheet.Joe

Hi, i'm looking for a manual on the IsoView WebCGM API for javascript. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like to see something with examples too, but i can't find anything. New Arbortext user here--We have directories of graphics on our file system, organized by products or by purpose. How do you set up similar sets of reusable graphics that many authors will use in many documents. For example, we have a directory of logos. Hi.This doesn't belong under Windchill, but there's nowhere else to put this question that I've found.We've recently lost our Intralink Administrator, and when I click on the Help menu, and select Pro/Help, I am greeted with "Error Launching Browser" message.I'm at a loss as to where to start looking to fix this issue, if anyone has some suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.Thanks,Nathan

I was trying to determine the current flowing through a simple diode circuit, but I must have done something wrong. Neither the Lambert part of the current relation nor the current change any with VS and R. Anyone have any ideas?BTW I used the soon to be extinct "Mathcad Collaboratory" to find Stuart's LambertW function. (I wish the Collaboratory would remain up as it is, even if we can't post anything. My company produces flexible waveguide yet does not have Pro/Piping. A length of flexible waveguide is named <Size>-<Length> in our BOM and ERP system because the form operation is a function of the top assembly. Currently, I am creating a custom part, naming it generically, and 'hiding' it from Pro E by putting it into a private folder outside of the search path. This cannot be optimal.I have looked into flexible components, and though admittedly I don't have much experience with them, the only solution I see would involve creating a modifiable spline. But I cannot predict the number of bends or in what plane they would be, so this would require almost 'hot swapping' a point field, which I don't even know if that is possible.At the end of the day, I just need a solution which works and provides incentive to model accurately; I would appreciate any ideas and solutions which others have found useful. Hi,We have a formula that requires two range variables feeding from the first equation into the second equation. The variables are dependent on each other i.e should R.as = 0.097 then a.s = 0.8 - please see attached example. The problem is that we do not know how to solve within mathcad.Any help would be most appreciated.John M.

I'm relatively new to IsoDraw. I'm running 7.1 CADprocess M040. I have a lot of legacy data (files that were created using AutoCAD and other formats) that I want to bring over to IsoDraw. Every time I attempt to import an AutoCAD file into IsoDraw it comes in with all the lines changed to dashed lines and I have to redefine line types. Is there a setting in the preferences that needs to be set? Or do I need to save my AutoCAD drawings down to a earlier release?

In IsoDraw the Template size which I use is Width = 183.5 & Height = 227. I illustrate only inside the template.But when I export the Illustration to CGM the width and height of the illustration increased.If the Width and Height is less then it is not a problem for me.But in most of the cases the size is higher then the template size.I found this problem rises due to the partial ellipse which are created during illustration.When the center point of the partial ellipse lies out side the template area the cgm size increases.So I created a macro to select the ellipse whose center point is outside the template and convert it to Bezier.But still the error occurs.Then I found that even when the elliptical profile is outside the template(When selecting the partial ellipse and press F12) the size of the cgm increases.I have attached an image through which you can understand my problem.I want to select these ellipse whose profile and convert it into Bezier path.Help me out in solving the pr

I am having trouble getting ProE to create (or store) parameters generated by MathCad. I've created an analysis feature in a test part that sends parameter data to MathCad, uses it in some calculations, then sends back calculated output variables from MathCad. Everything looks to be working fine in the analysis feature--I hit compute and get correct answers, I can (and do) request parameters to be created, etc; however, when I finish creating the feature, ProE doesn't seem to actually create the parameters. (I.e. no feature parameters show up when I query Info->Feature or Edit->Parameters). I want to use the incoming data from MathCad in relations, but can't make any progress till I get ProE to actually create the MC parameters and store the data.Any suggestions?I am using ProE Wildfire 4.0 (build M140) and MathCad13. I am currently running Mathcad 15 on Windows XP SP3 which is a 32 bit operating system. A Mathcad 15 worksheet I am running has to do a LOT of number crunching. Mathcad 15.exe is running my CPU usage at 99% and a RAM usage of about 480,000 kB, as well as locking up once in a while requiring a reboot. I already broke the worksheet down into a number of smaller worksheets, got rid of unecessary XY plots, and got a summation of a summation to work the fastest way possible. Also tried decimation to reduce the load on the system, but found I can't use it, since I lose some of the input data when I do that.My company's MIS department wants to give me a new Windows 7 64 bit machine. But I notice in the Mathcad 15 specifications that it will only run as a 32 bit application on a 64 bit operating system. So will running a newer PC with Windows 7 64 bit help me any?Also I notice under system requirements none of the newer CPUs are listed. With what newer CPUs is Mathcad 15 compatible? Bill

I wrote a VB script for a text box to highlight condition based on the input variable. However, when I print the mathcad file is doesn't display the color of the textbox. Is there a setting that I'm missing that is causing it to print incorrectly? Attached a sample mathcad file that contains the script. Hello ,is there anyway in Mathcad to compute symbolically coefficients of sin(ws*t) and cos(ws*t) ?as in symbolic calculation in attached filesin(ws*t)*A + cos(ws*t)*BI want to see A and B more easily without writing down that long equation and do it by hand.Regards
