I've been using Mathcad 15 extensively for about a year now and a few days ago all of a sudden I couldn't put symbols on my 2d graphs. The existing graphs weren't affected but if I changed an existing graph with symbols on it I couldn't get the symbols back.Has anybody else seen this and if so what did you do about it? I haven't checked out 3D graphs

Hi Guys,As you can see I now having another problem with an ODE. I have given some background information to its formulation should it be necessary to fill in the gaps that I have left. I believe the problem is something to do with relating outflow Q with both height of storage and time but this I believed is what the ODE is supposed to solve but maybe my formulation of the problem is incorrect? Hello all, i am producing a set of drawings that need to be dual dimensioned, primary units mm, secondary units inches. It is my first time having to do this & i think i have most things figured out, but i cannot display the dimensions how i would like. At the moment i have primary units on top & secondary units (in brackets) below, but both above the leader line. I've attached a Mathcad 14 sheet showing Mathcad's Find Solver function being used to solve three simultaneous equations, although I could solve them by substitution. I also use a simple program to give me answers for different cases.I would now like to output results for all the different cases, and plot these on a graph. Is there a way to output results for each of the different cases simultaneously?Thanks,Sam

I use MathCAD Primarily for homework and I love it, but there is one problem. I set my problems up so that they go horizontally across the worksheet, and they work for them goes downwards for as long as needed. My problem is that the variables are being shared across all of them, and since most of our problems are similar, it gives me some difficulties. Right now I'm making due by setting up the variables for each problem differently, like voltage for problem 1, 2 and 3 are V.1 V.a and V.aa, but I would really like to find an actual solution. If I could just set a vertical line to disallow variable sharing, I would be happy. Also, how does one go about changing the units on an answer? I tried the insert unit but it wouldn't let me insert it, and now I just have to set the entire worksheet to use something like mA instead of A or something.

Hi,say I have a vector v with possible zero valued elements and I want log(v), is there an efficient way to get Mathcad to trap errors individually? In my case I simply want to return a predetermined constant -ve value for all zero elements.At the moment I have something like "-100 on error log(v)" which returns a scalar if any element is zero rather than a vector. I know I could loop through but this might be slow since some of my arrays are quite big.Regards,D

I took pursuit curves from 2 different but similar sources and tried to plot them. They come out the same but not as expected. They don't look like pursuit curves.The worksheet called PursuitCurvesODE came from Differential Equations De-Mystified by Stephen Krantz.The worksheet called PursuitCurvesDED is from Ordinary differential equations and applications- Werner S. Weiglhofer, Kenneth A. Lindsay.I'd like some advice as to where I'm going wrong with the plotting or the equations.Thanks,Jim Dickerson

So, earlier in the PTC products calendar was listed release date for the new update M010 MP1 (Mathcad Prime 1.0) - Q3 2011. Now it does not appear in the list of updates. So, this will be a new update for Prime 1.0 (and when if "Yes")?

Did anyone achieve a profile sequence where the tool follows a ramp trajectory? Hello,I've been wondering what the best way to copy a sketch from an old part to a new part is. I've had situations in the past where I wanted to copy a sketch of a detailed hole layout to another part and I've tried using a simple copy and paste but it doesn't keep all the dimensions exactly like the old sketch had. For example, I had a control panel layed out and one of the engineers wanted to add some holes to it for more components. Well, the panel I had layed out wasn't big enough to have the extra holes added to it while still being asthetically pleasing. So, I had to make a bigger panel and copy the sketch over to it. When I did this, it left out all the "strong" dimensions I had put into it plus many other little things which ended up costing me a lot of extra time to get it back into shape. I defined a column vector as equal to the transpose of a 1 x 15 matrix (row vector). I verified that the column vector exists by displaying individual elements with a single subscript. I then take the transpose of this vector to get back to a row vector and it refuses to display when I type the vector name and enter =. I have verified that this works by using an example with fewer terms and it worked fine. What am I doing wrong?

Has anyone tried out this new sequence? Was this implemented from pro toolmaker? I have found it to be usefull and pretty solid for finish those hard to get areas.

I have an M6600 mobile work station and it seems like the performance/graphics settings are set very low (jagged edges). I used the nvidia control panel to overwrite the application settings to smooth out the edges, but is there a way to do this within the program itself? I am using WF5 and also I want to increase the distance before components disspear. Is there a way to disable WF5 from removing components/features when zooming out? After a "clean" install of MathCad 14.0 M020 on Win 7 Professional (service pack 1) MathCad does not start.I click on he Mcad Icon, the hour glass appears, and then vanishes. There must be a logical explanation to offset lines. I'm working in an assembly right now and want to show how different components fit together using an exploded view and offset lines. However, when I try to create an offset line many times they do everything but what I want them to do. Hi all, i want to wrap (not project) some sketched text around a simple curved surface. The wrap tool only works for straight sided cylinders, is there another tool or technique that could be used, i am using standard wf5.RegardsJohn

As recommended by Valery in the previous discussion, I have tried to set up units in a first order heat transfer ODE but am having difficulty with that task. As you can see this I have used various workarounds - first defining the units then stripping the units from variables etc in order to plot the intermediate results. The main problem however, is with the units in the ODE solve block. What I don't understand is why although all units have been explicitly defined in a table at the beginning of the worksheet, nevertheless the ODE reports that the "units are not compatible"? I have tried to explicitly insert the units into the solve block however nothing seems to work. As you can seen from the previous discussion I know this ODE works if you don't have units but I thought one of the big advantages of MathCad Prime 1 was that it can use units in solve blocks. Am I correct in that assertion and if so can someone work out why this error is resulting.Thanking you in advance.Kind regards,

I am trying to do a symbolic solution for the distance in feet for a given free space loss in dB and frequency in MHz. The formula originally came from a canned Excel spreadsheet.Now want to solve for the distance in feet for a given frequency and free space loss.Doing a symbolic solve,Mathcad 15 M010 says cannot find a solution.Mathcad 11 finds a solution in terms of the frequency in MHz and "lhs". What does "lhs" mean????I need to be able to put this back into a spreadsheet, so can't use units here.Bill
