Dear Mathcad specialists, I am working with Mathcad since Mathcad 1.0 but I am not really well skilled and I know only the mathcad features which I need for my numerical modelisations.I have some basic files which I inserted in larger programs. I make the insertions through the conventional available command button and everything works well.Recently I had to transfer my files on a new computer and for internal reasons, the name of the main hard disk has been changed from D to C. The consequence is that all my insertions were wrong since the pathes were obviously not correct any more. It is time consuming and not alwaqys very easy to correct all insertions and insertions within insertions etc..I would like to avoid such an issue in the future and I am ready to modfiy the main program such that the insertion get the right path automatically.Does anyone knows if we can create a mathcad macro which generates automatilly the right path for the inserted files ?May be that's obvious but I ha

Hello,I'm working with a welded assembly that will be analyzed in Mechanica. I'm having trouble defining a weld material, and I assume this is important for an accurate Mechanica analysis (please correct me if this assumption is wrong).I figured out how to create a new material (Tools->Weld->Weld Material->New Weld Material->Define) but I'm not sure what to input for "Diameter" and "Length". Hello,For some reason, my mathcad file keeps crashing. I've tried autosave but for some reason, those wouldn't open either. I've been working around this by manually creating a back-up file every 4 hours. I've been working on this file for around a week now with constant crashes.What am I doing wrong and how do I fix this ? Is there a way to open this file and recover what's inside ? Hi,I have data sheet created in Mathcad 2000 which is an array.If I try to open it in Mathcad 15, the graph plotted in 2000 is not working.Is it a bug? I have no go, have to work with Mathcad 15. Kindly suggest a solution.--Dhinesh

Between IT and myself we have the test server stood up and running.I have also created an organization, and included the Demo org at installation.My Question is: Should I create users at the Site or Organization level? It appears that I can do either. What is the best practice in this case?

Hi,I am trying to establish communication between 2 Mathcad files cause i would like to Mathcad file 1 to retrieve few data from MathCAD file 2. I found that Mathcad is able to communicate with other kind of documents (like xls,word, etc) .Any help in this direction is appreciate.Thanks,Arun

Hi All,I am trying to make it so that my promotion workflows are effected by the destination state of the promotion - I want different tasks etc if the destination state is Prototype compared to Implementation for example.I know that I could simple give the user the option of two promotion processes which they can select from depending on what state they are promoting to. However I want to eliminate the chance that they accidently choose the wrong process - since things such as the ERP connector are triggered in different ways depending on the destination state.I therefore want to put a conditional node into the promotion workflow which directs the workflow based on the destination state - meaning one workflow per state.Regards,Toby

When the selections inside a listbox are text. Mathcad will assign the row number of the selected item in the list to the variable . is it possibel to have the variable = the text of the selected item in the list? Thanks !!!!!!!!

Hello,i need help with the follwing:if i have a beam with length " L", I would like to check the beam for shear and moment at certain locations that i will define as follows:e , b, S are variables defined by the designerthe first location will be at a distance 1.5*e+ b the second location will be at distance = first hole location + Sthe third location will be at distance = second hole location +S and so on!!!! we keep doing the above until the location goes past the beam midlength L/2. if the location is > L/2, then we dont use this location.Then we need to run the above procedure and determine the locations from the right end, in other words the locations will be symmetrical about the beam midlength.i would like to see the locations in a table or array so i can use my moment and shear equations to calculate the shear and moment at the locations specified in the table or array. Is it possible to easily pattern features on a helical path? I've been inviting team members to our Windchill Project. Most have had no problem, but one team member sent me the following email:"I tried to join the project but didn’t have a log in- I created a PTC user account-but now how do I get it to link up to this project?"It seems she has a log-in for the site but it's not associated with our project. I have been trying to pull a sketch of a few curved surfaces from a wp into a part (please see below), but the curved edges come out very jagged. hi there,I am working with a sheet metal and met a strange problem:I used the Punch from tool to perform a shap (like the nut), the deformation is ok but when i unbend or make a flat pattern the nuts don't follow the wall (see picture below).The nuts hang in mid air is cause of a mistake in 2D drawing.please advise!This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. How can I access an Excel worksheet in an Excel file with multiple worksheets? I have tried using both the data import wizard and the Microsoft Excel component with no success. I have also tried using the Insert/File Input dialog box choosing the Microsoft Excel option but it didn't work. The Data Import Wizard and the Insert/File Input options will allow you to select a file and file type (i.e., Microsoft Excel) but when I select a workbook with multiple worksheets I can't do anything. For both options is a drop-down menu for the worksheet but there are no menu selections.I have looked in the Help files but for this case the help files don't help

On seeing an expression of the form ln(x+a)^2 I would assume that to evaluate it (x+a) is first squared and then the log of the result is found. I was surprised to find that in Mathcad the log is evaluated first and then the result is squared. This seems to apply to other functions. It took me a while to figure out this as the cause of the error in some calculations. Has anyone else been caught out by this or am I being naive?

Hello Folks,I have this annoying problem in a listbox. I'd like to read in data from an excel sheet. For this I have found a nice routine (thanks again for that) in this forum that provides me all files of a given directory which I then can choose from a listbox. Works like a charm! Now I'd like to select via a similar mechanism a certain sheet in this Excel file. The problem now is that I can't extract the text of this selected element via the GETTEXT method; MathCad claiming it to be an invalid operation. This method however, works fine with a simple Listbox.Hope somebodya can find a solution for that (see attached sheet)Thanks in advanceRaiko

I need some help with WF4. How do you hide a common import feature in on component / sub-assembly of an assembly, but keep it visible in another component of the same component / sub-assembly?
