hiour company is consider to buy windchill, but do not know it is suit to our products . our products all in families, so when i open a drawing of an instance, i have to checkout the generic and the instance 3d parts. so no body can do any works on this part, neither another instance of this part. right?and our parts have reference in a context of assembly, gap is fix between parts, if you modify one part, the other part update automatically. so in this case,the family can have 3 levels, it is possible for winchill to manage the family like that?the windchill need a professional person to mantain it if we buy service from ptc? any programming background needed?any comment about those would be appreciated.thanks

I have made changes to the SMA stylesheet header (i.e. added logo and chapter information). I applied these changes to "ChapterPage Set Even/Odd pages".When I publish my SMA map to PDF, the header information shows up on every page except for the top level (chapter) pages. If I demote the chapter elements down a level the header information displays. How do I get the header information to show up on the top level (chapter) pages?

Hello,I try to take the example from the quicksheets to solve PDE with Pdesolve. But even this example doesn't work properly:Into the Pdesolve block, the limits for the x variable (2nd component of the vector, L) appears in red, with the error description "This variable reference is ambiguous". I try to correct it by adding a namespace operator, as described into the help, but in this case the error is always here. Even by putting a numeric avalue instead of L, the error persists.I use Mathcad 14.Can someone help to suppress this error ?Thanks for answer.Pierre

Dear all,I have a problem with copying my calcs to word document. I need to copy them to words document in order to organize every thing for my project. the problem is that i have to copy each page from Mathcad manually to words, but they appear as pictures which in this case i have to remove the frame around each equation. Can any one advise me how to copy them without having to edit them manually which obviously take long time to do.Looking forward to hearing from you RegardsAlan

Hello,I am new at Mathcad and I am using version 14 at College. Is there a way to reduce the size of the font used to display results? I already changed ALL the styles to smaller fonts and sizes (I need to fit more on paper) and tables of numbers and other numeric results still display with a very large font. Is there a hidden setting or something not obvious on the menus that changes this font? Thank you.

First-time user, first-time poster!I have a question regarding assembly, with particular mentions to projection and cut-outs. What is the method of projecting edges/faces onto another surface (ie. the chassis), and then the method of cutting out that projection?Perhaps I'm not reading the Getting Started guide correctly... I would like to edit the default line styles to add more line styles that are available to all graphics. Currently I have to create the line styles with each new drawing, is there a way to edit the line styles to add more styles?I would also like to add different sizes and angles of the arrowheads available. Hi,I have to solve a 3x3-matrix with 6 variables.If i just click solve, Mathcad says that 3 of theses variables are 0.But they must not be 0.So I tried to use "assume,all>0" but it doesn't change the result..Do I use assume in a uncorrect way or how can I change the result that it's not 0?I think it should be quiet simple but I don't get it I attached the file.

Dear fellow MatchCad users,I have several data sets (mechanical torque test data in Excel files) that I need to process, one file at a time. Each file is initially read into a matrix and then three vectors are extracted by columns. I want to calculate mean, median, max and standard deviation of the data. In the attached graphic you can see that there are many zero readings. I'd like to calculate those values while excluding the zeros, or say by excluding the values below some criteria that I choose later.I am thinking the best way to do this is to create 'a program' which will assign a new vector with the values which pass my criteria test (ie, zeros removed). Since I'm calculating based on the results, I can't have NaN values in the vectors. Unfortunaelty I'm too novice in MathCad to understand the programming toolbar.I already have the data import, vector statistics and plotting working. Can anyone offer suggestions on programming?Best regards,Joe

Hi!How can I use the values from a solve block further down my calculations ? They are all nicely calculated in the solve block but they are unusable because they don't have a letter or any kind of notation attached to the values. Tried to use definition := sign in this last block and build a matrix of 4x1 putting all F's on the column in the right order but when I try to see the value of any F (via = sign) after telling mathcad what values they should have, program crashes (Mathcad15)... Total Freeze after "evaluate numericaly" icon push (=)

Hi!A week ago i installed the pro e 5.0 schools edition, and I was quite pleased with the new outfit, but when I got to the 2D drawing I found myself in some trouble...I am using a german version, so it could happen that I do not use the terms which are used in an english version of pro e.1) how to view axes? I think I once found the right button by accident, but since then, I didn't find it again...2) when I insert a dimensioning the value is directly between the arrows. But i want to have it above the dimensioning line. Hello,I try to solve a highly non-linear 2nd order ODE, like the example enclosed, example I found on an old answer into the old FAQ.As long as I just execute this file into Mathcad 14, no problem.But when I want to modify it with my own conditions and limits, the whole file doesn't work again, the functions definitions and particularly the rkadapt appear in red with the comment "cannot be used here".I also notice that the number of arguments of rkadapt is larger (2 more) than described in the help files...(?)Are there a way into Mathcad to solve these kind of high non linear systems for a real job, not academic (when we do not know the solution before, and so cannot choose the "right" initial conditions) ?Thanks for your helpPierre

Hi All,I have 9 sets of two dimensional vectors and am interested in comparing these sets under certain conditions. The condtions are stated in the mathcad file attached. I have an old e-book out of Schaum's engineering series. As the original program was on a diskette I just copied the hbk and folder into my MC15 handbook folder. Although MC 15 opens the splash screen I cannot open the the TOC and all links seem to be broken if I open the TOC straight from the folder in my handbook. Is there a solution available to correct this?Thanks!

Hi, I wonder if there is any method to let a (potentially) referenced sheet (potential slave) detect whether it has been called via reference by a master (which one) or if it is a master itself (i.e. run at top level)?For me this is of interest as I have several nested MathCad sheets. Normally I will only open the most top level sheet (the master which references to all the sub sheets = slaves). However, sometimes I want to open a subscript directly and only execute the equations/programs defined there. Then, this sheet shall activate certain controls (checkboxes) which I use to define what method to use for calculation. However, if this sheet were to be referenced by a master, then I will have already set the checkboxes in the master, and then I do not want the slave sheet to alter the calculation setup.In the beginning I thought it was as easy as defining a variable MASTER that I would set to some value in the most top level sheet, and the slave sheets then would just check if MASTER

say i have an edge curve on a surface that is not a straight line. its a curvy edge. then on each end of that is a perpendicular line. whats the best way to make a surface from that. boundary needs all four sides. swept and blends want sketches. i just want to use the 3 pieces i already have. i can do it in 2 seconds in mastercam 9. you would think proe would be much better at this. am i not seeing a fuction for that. anyone have any advice it would be greatly appreciated. maybe i am just not looking in the right spot. thanksDaryl

I'm doing a macro that writes values to a text file and it's not working properly. Intention is to give me an estimate of the time saved using each macro.The last bit of the line below doesn't work - (macro_1_count * 5)fwrite write_file_name macro_1_name + ',' + macro_1_count + ',time-saved-' + (macro_1_count * 5)If the line isfwrite write_file_name macro_1_name + ',' + macro_1_count + ',time-saved-' + macro_1_countIt works fine, but as soon as I try to put the calculation in it, it doesn't work.macro_1_count is defined as a float, so is does IML not allow calculations within some commands? If so I'll have to add an extra line in my macro to create a variable for the write string.For a macro like this, where there are several variables for each macro, it would be better if the values were stored in some sort of array or table - is there something like this in IML? I'm currently evaluating 38 macros, so there are a lot of variables to create.

As I am learning Creo I noticed that when I apply the Hole Tool to a surface all apprears to be working, but I can't finalize the drawing by selecting the green check mark. All other buttoms alongside the check mark work fine, but selecting it doesn't complete the hole. This makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong, the installation wasn't complete or it is a bug of some sort. Whatever the case, I need to get it fixed and am hoping someone in this community can help me.Thanks for your time.Kurt

Hello Guys is ist possible to specify the path of an file( which i want to import with the components shown in the attached jpg) by a string.It would be nice to have the path somewhere in the mathcad-file saved, and the components use that string.. So that I dont have to use the ***** menu of the components!?I hope you understand by poor english

I am trying to make the diameter of a cylinder = 102mm if P1 = 2A, so how do i write this?
