Hi,I am using a data set in MS excel. From the given inputs -known (Nominal Ratio -NR & Power-P) I need to select the output (unit Size). The logic used is as follows:For the given value of NR select the lower value, from table. For eg if given NR is 6.1, then select 5.6 For the given value of P select the higher value, from table. For eg if given P is 83.0, then select 124.0 Hence result is 160 Unit Size.Please also refer attached image.Can anyone help to define this logic in Mathcad R15? and also make use of the data from ExcelThanksDeepak

Just upgraded from WF4 to WF5 M060 and spent the morning putting all our configs right.However the PDF export function (which we like to use) has not only been buried inconveniently in the 'Publish' tab opposed to having its own icon, it's also outputting anything on the 'Geometry' layer as a line that's too thick!Bascially all geometry and drawing border lines are too bold. It never used to be like this. Everything else (dimensions, notes, hatching etc.) is fine. Try as I might, I simply can't find an option in the conifg.pro to adjust this.Have a feeling I'm going to have to set up a pen table to get round this. I use the PRO-E student edition on my home computer. I have 64 bit computer with Windows 7 Home Premium.While assembling parts, and when I click on middle mouse to pan a part, the program closes itself without saving the work.I have 6MB of ram. Is this a ram issue? I can add 2MB by replacing two 1 mb with 2 , 2MB chips.Also there is no 'PRO-Program' available in Tools with this edition? Thanks. Ajit

I use disk imaging to make maintenance of our computer labs easier. I have one image for the business education lab, one image for the elementary computer lab, one image for the industrial arts lab, and so forth.How do I go about including Pro/E schools edition in these images? I see something about the license being "locked to the MAC address", though I haven't gone deep into testing this yet.Is it the tiny license file that is all that really matters between the machines? When we have finished or amended each of our Isodraw drawings, we export a CGM version of the file for use by our authors.We never edit CGM versions of our drawings, they are just used as a convenient format to add to Word documents.We've found through experience that an old version of CGM works best for us - "Model Profile (ISO 8632:1992/Am.1: 1994)".But, because it is an old format, it pops up an error message saying it doesn't support things like callouts or object infos.I have a macro that creates the CGM files and saves them in the right directory, but it always pops up the warning message. Is there a way to suppress the error message?

Hi everybody,with the help of Stuart Bruff I managed to get the file I uploaded here. Now I have a task, but don`t know if it is possible in MathCad, and when it is - how...I wish to iterate the four constants (kic, kisc1, kisc2 and kQ) over a certain range, solve the set of equations and write the matrix (kic kisc1 kisc2 kQ Rqt) for each possible set of these k`s into a file. What I managed up to now is the variation of all k`s with l1, but I want to change them independently. My first try was to use several for-loops (one for each k), but I had too many problems and nothing did work, so I have nothing to show here.Can anybody tell me if I should try further on, or if I can stop because it isn`t possible at all?Thank you in advance,Katharina

My understanding of the new MathCad Prime is that it does not support Areas that can be collapsed or locked. This feature is used by my company to manage calculations. The calcluations within the area have been carefully authored, checked, and certified. We lock the area so that no one can tamper with the calculations. The user of the sheet would only have access to input variables.If MathCad Prime does not support locked areas or templates, what is the proposed solution to help manage calculations?Also, if it does not support locked areas, can Prime import/read files from version 14 that have locked areas?thanks,JC

I have mathcad 2001i which I am finally forced to upgrade because it won't work on my 64-bit windows 7 computer.Will mathcad version 15 open 2001i files (.mcd)? If so, will they be usable with minor editing or will there be a lot of work required to get them working right?(I read that version 15 will not save in 2001i format so it makes me think that maybe it won't open 2001i files either.)

Hello I've been wondering if it's possible to create a random landscape through fractals using mathcad?Does anyone have a worksheet that has done this before? I am looking for a way for estimating an unknown parameter in a matrix, so that an equation is satisfied.I attach an example. In the matrix "alpha" there is an unknown parameter "Par" that I would like to estimate in order to satisfy the equation reported after.I am using Find, but I cannot estimate only the unknown paramter. The whole matrix is evaluated and actually mathcad changes the alpha 3,3 value, which belongs to the diagonal which must be of 0.Anyone can help - Thanks a lot in advance

Each vector has m rowsto create an array of data of m rows and n columnsThe data can be positive or negativeThen I write the array with the commandWRITEPRN(file_name) = arrayWhen I want to read the data with Excel, I open it with the Text Import Wizard, using the delimited option and space (or other) in order to read the various columns.It happens very often that the text Import Wizard doesn't recognise correctly the columns.One way to avoid this issue would be to introduce a delimitation (like space, ; or else) between the columns.I need to be able to read the data with Excel, after I generated delimited (?) ASCII file with mathcadI have also triedWRITEFILE(file_name,"Excel"):=arraybut it seems not to work ! What did I wrong thereDoes anyone knows how to solve this issue ?Thank you for your help

Does anyone know if there is a simple way to mill a slot? I would think I could draw a line at the depth I want, use Trajectory mill, pick the line and use the ramp parameter to drive the tool in a zig zag motion from the top of the part to the bottom of the slot. Any help on this subject would be appreciated. Again, I am NOT looking for some long work around, just a quick down and dirty slot.Thank you for any help I can get. Hey guys..I have a strange problem.Sometimes when creating a mill volume path , it can´t be mill because the mill volume suddently disappears.I´ve had this problem a couple of times , but not every time.I make the seq , choose the volume (which appears in solid) , and everything seems okay. But when i try to play the path , the volume is gone.You can still see it in the modeltree , but not select it on the model..In this case i´ve fix it with a mill vindow , but still real frustrated..Have anyone had similar problems ? Hello everyone. I need help programming a loop that can calculate a cumulative running sum given a vector of values. For example, if cell(1,1) = 10 and cell(1,2) = 2, then the cumulative sum would be 12 and if cell(1,3)=4, then the cumulative sum would be cell(1,1)+cell(1,2)+cell(1,3)=16. I need to have a matrix that shows the incremental values in Col(1) and the cumulative sums in Col(2). I've attached a worksheet that resembles the type of data and loop format that I need to build.Thanks!!

The attached shows a strange behaviour for match..there are two matrices (epsilon_c and sigma_c) with the same size and the same condition imposed in the function called MAX. The maximum values are correct in each case. The problem is that the indexes for the position (row) where those values appear are correct only for sigma_c and not for epsilon_c (should all be listed as 49 - last position in matrice). Further checking on my behalf lead to nothing.Can anyone provide help?Kind regards, D.

Which component is selected here? (white or blue?)Has anyone else noticed that in WF5 if you highlight or select a component in an assembly it highlights all the hidden entities? This is a real nuisance in top down design with components that have Ext. Copy Geoms of other components. When you select or preselect the component it is hard to tell which component you have selected. Hi all, i wonder if anyone out there can help me. I am having great difficulty patterning surfaces around an axis. What i am trying to do was so much easier in much older versions of pro-e, 2000-i & older. I don't know what changed in the wildfire versions, but i find it almost impossible to pattern these days. Try & picture a Coca Cola bottle, you essentially have a round bottle with contoured flutes around it. You surface one flute, comprising of multiple surfaces, merge these surfaces, then pattern them around an axis, sounds simple, but it is not. In 2000-i you could pattern the resultant quilt, now you do not appear to be able to pattern quilts, when you select a quilt, the pattern icon remains greyed out. It would appear that you have to start grouping features together before you see the pattern icon active, but this is where the fun & games start. Pro-e is very unpredictable, sometimes i get what i want, but most of the time it is an absolute battle trying to patter
