This problem exists in several versions of Creo (e.g. 2 and 7). When I want to select a funtion in the scetcher, the cursor doesn't change unless I make a click in the second monitor. This problem happens quite often. Sometimes I cannot type in values unless I make an extra click in the second monitor. No support could help me until now. The only advice was to exchange my hardware.

Would it be possible to support for viewing PDF files that have 3D models embedded in them ? Thank you.

I have been trying to delete a component from an assembly during some days, but everything, that i´ve tried, has failed.Yesterday, I found some information about "ExecuteFeatureOps", and I saw that it´s necessary to select "resolve_mode". However, everytime i´ve tried to select that configuration, an error message appears:"To use a deprecated config option, you will need to supply an authorization code with 'allow_deprecated_config'. Please see article CS260154 for more information." I don´t know how to resolve it, so I would appreciate if somebody could help me.Thanks in advance!

Hi All, I’m trying to get to grips with the OTK Java Free toolkit to create a fairly simple tool to just output the top level assemblies from an assembly as STEP files. However, I can’t even get the sample code from the Creo install to work, including the install test  -which randomly requires a deprecated config.pro option that pops up a warning about needing a code to enable it. Does anyone have some good tutorials on getting a simple OTK Java free (formerly J-Link) program to work. Even just a hello world example? Thanks in advance. 

I'm unable to get a validator for dropdown widget to work.  The validator is supposed to check if a selection was made from a dropdown widget.  I've tried the following in the validator but it still goes through.  How can I get this validator to work?  The validator input is bound to Selected Row of the service that populates the dropdown.   (Type !== "") && (Type !== null); //(Type == "New Functionality") || (Type == "Bug Report") || (Type == "Other");

Hello, is there any good practice how to create simulation copy/version of model using windchill? Now I'm doing it by copying all the parts. So it creates independent model which i don't like. Is there any way how to connect/ create a simulation version of the model using windchill?

I am a former high school educator (just resigned 2/3/23) and I am making the transition to an engineering firm. I had downloaded the trial version of Creo to brush up on my CAD skills but my trial is about to run out in 5 days. I got notice from my new employer that I will be working remotely for another couple of weeks. Is there a way to extend the trial version of Creo so that I can fill my time until they get my work issued laptop with Creo installed? Any help is a much appreciated!

I am getting this error when i am trying to check in an assembly. It is not a new assembly though.  Error Message : " Action cannot be completed as it cannot build association with Part that you do not have access to.You must gain access to the Part or the Part must be deleted from the database."  I do have access for the folder locations. But it seems something else is missing. Can you help to resolve this.

Hi all, My company recently started using Windchill. Whenever I export a PDF, the PDF created gets its own part number. However, I would like to have the PDF exported as an attachment to the part referenced in the drawing. Alternatively, I would like to have the PDF exported to an attachment to a WTPart. Is there any way to do this? Please let me know! Thank you in advance for your help!  Thank you,Jeff 

After doing the upgrade to Windchill, now running 12.0.2.8, I am trying to follow the steps outlined in this CS article on running Windchill as a service. Article - CS17799 - How to run Apache, Tomcat, Windchill Directory Server and Windchill as Microsoft Windows service in Windchill (ptc.com) The build says it is successful but does issue warnings when running.  PTC tech support sent me this CS article: Article - CS357485 - After executing ant -f bin/gwt.xml command on Windchill shell throws warnings WARNING: An illegal reflective access operation has occurred in Windchill PDMLink (ptc.com) However, When I go to start the service, it gives an error and will not start. I can start Windchill manually from a command prompt, but that does no good if IT does a server reboot overnight and I have to manually restart Windchill. Has anyone else had this issue with Windchill12.0? I did not have any issues with all prior versions of Windchill (7, 9. 9.1, 10, 11, 11.1) that I have installed.

Summary:I am following the PTC support article to setup a Generic CAD Worker to create a pdf viewable using accoreconsole.exe (AutoCAD) of an AutoCAD .dwg file that exists as a CAD Document in Windchill. I followed all setup steps and am able to see my worker on-line. When I attempt to start the worker and publish a job (step 10) nothing is published. I don't think this is an issue with the AutoCAD portion (which PTC mentions they will not support). I think this is an issue with my Generic worker setup. Observations:When I start the worker from the Worker Agent Administration, I get a worker log that appears to show a successful start. (worker log at start log attached)I see successful communication messages in the cadagent log on the windchill server for this worker. (cadagent log attached)When I publish a .dwg from Windchill I get a job log (viewed in the WVS Monitor) and a Generic CAD worker log (found in the folder setup following the article).The job log reports an

I’m relatively new to the option file generator (1 year). I’ve been using creo (pro engineer) for 25 years.I’m using #14 fadal VMC15 profile. I found that for a G18 (X-Z) plane certain G2 and G3 gcodes are mixed up when I export the tool paths.The rest of the gcode maintain the proper coordinate system direction. If I test the gcode with https://ncviewer.com/ the circles will show up upside downSo I’m looking for a setting that will swap G3 output for G2 output eventually switching the direction of the Y axis in the XZ plane (G18) I tried checking in/off the CIRCLE/cmd translation – among others with no avail. Any help/suggestion is appreciated. thank you! 

hi  I am using kepware to retrieve information from 20 mitsubishi plcs fx3u on ethernet channel. At the moment i have only 1 channel and 20 devices configured inside but i am wondering if this is the best approach if 1 of the PLCs fails and it might choke whole channel communication. Would it not be better to use 20 identical channels with only 1 devices in each? what would be the pros and cons of either solution? Which would be better solution from robustness point of view. Hi,I believe views of WTPart, "Design" for example, are mandatory information for consistent data in Windchill, but one collegue explained he show some installations that do not use those view. Until now, I though a part without view would be "corrupted data", imported thanks a spreadsheet.  Are the view "Design/Manufacturing/etc." simply a recommanded practice of PTC ? What would be the drawback of configuring per default no view on the WTPart (when no MPMLink is used)? I really interesseted in your opinions!

hello everyone！My problem is that there are two components in an assembly , the component "A" has a square body, and the component "B" has a cylindrical quilt . Like the following picture.I want to use Creo Object TOOLKIT or TOOLKIT to use the quilt of component B as the cutting reference to create a curing feature in component A, and the cylindrical quilt of component B to cut the solid of component A.The final effect is as follows. I tried to fill the Solidify element tree with the pointer of quilt, and then use the "wfcWSolid_ptr" of component A creates the feature, but the creation failed because the solidify feature has no reference quilt. If anyone knows how to use B's quilt as a reference to create the curing feature, or how to successfully create the feature, please tell me the specific method, thank you very much！
