Hi, I would like to know how to link or use a product specific attribute (i.e. Name attribute) to a CAD Document. The ultimate goal would be to have a parameter in a Part or Assembly that is locked and linked to the Name attribute of the product it is part of. Thank you, Joey

Is there a way to transform the generic part into an instance and replace the generic element for a new element?   For example:I have a case of a family table witches one the generic element is a part of an assembly.The problem is, when I want to change any instance of this family table, it is mandatory to change the generic element too, and it forces me to create a new revision of the this generic...What I'm trying to do is transforming the "actual generic" into an instance.If that generic became an instance I wouldn't need to change the "generics" revision anymore, because I would have a new generic element ruling the family.That would allow me to edit other instances by creating another version of the new "new generic". Thanks.

When I am not logged in and view an article, there is the "Please Log In to view the full article" link at the bottom. (The URL here is just https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?source=subscription) I use browser>back to get around this, but obviously the redirection is broken somewhere. Tested with Firefox and Chrome.

If i understood it correctly, data tags can be used to tag desired time-series data of a property of a thing like tagging data under specified conditions. So, i wish to try it out. Can anyone help me on this??

PFB the topics where I need some clarity. Kindly advice. 1. I have a set of assets in Thingworx already which is connected to Kepware (tag mapping done) and I now need to have all those assets with same properties and tag mapping in Manufacturing Apps. Is there any way I can get it done without creating all those entities manually in Manufacturing Apps. 2. When I connect Kepware with Manufacturing Apps, I could see all the assets in Kepware are created in Thingworx with the KEPServerEX connection name prefixed before the asset name. And i was told by PTC that it is the out of box capability of Manufacturing Apps. If that is the case, is there a way to change the naming convention of asset while creating ? 3. Also when we create assets manually in Manufacturing Apps the things are created in Thingworx with 'Asset'. Can i change this naming convention too ? 4. How to create assets in Manufacturing Apps dynamically from a service in Thingworx Thing.

Hi All,   This seems like it should be possible, but I can't find any documentation explaining how to do it. We have some legacy solidworks data in Windchill, that I'd like to create visualisations for. We don't have a spare Solidworks license to use as a CAD worker, but Creo opens all of the Solidworks files just fine. So, my question is, can I just set up the Solidworks CAD worker to use Creo instead of Solidworks to generate the .pvs files for Windchill visualisation? If I can, how do I do it?   Thanks in advance.   Chris

I asked PTC support if it is possible to have the source code of the existing ContentLoaderFunctions resource to extend the functionalities, but if it is commonly asked by developers, would it be possible to have the status code natively in the future ? Because when requesting an API, sometimes it is quite useful to know if we get a 204 or 401 or a 500 status code.    

Hi,   I am to using TW Industrial Connectivity for connect my TAGs from PLC with TW Foundation, like the imagem below:   I have connection with the TAGs from PLC!   Now I would like to connect that TAGs with, for example, a pie chart, and when each one of my values change in the value of TAG my pie chart change too.   How I make this?   Regards. We are trying to import entities from 7.0 to 8.4 The persistence provider is changing but we aren't worried about the data now.   Can this be done? Appreciate your help with this! Should we go 7.0 => 8.0 => 8.4   Thanks Sabarish

Hi, I'm connecting my 3D lable to a Thing and displaying live data... This is working fine. What I can't seem to figure out is how to get the Data and a Lable to Display on the canvas eg "Tank02 Level: {data Value}"... As soon as I go to preview the Label Text just gets replaced with binding data...   Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Paul.

I have a Creo model which I want to save as a .pvz and include textures.    I have created a recipe file called new.rcp which has 'Convert' selected under 'Texture Maps' (as advised in CS75925)   Within Creo, under 'Save As' I selected .pvz and then click 'Options' and add the directory where this recipe file is located. I also add the recipe file itself under 'Recipe for .pcz'. However when I hit Save I get 'Creo View files could not be created'.   Can anyone advise where I'm going wrong

Navigating from one Mashup to another.   Hi All,  I am new to Thingworx Platform. I want to develop a dashboard screen where I have a dropdown list with multiple options. Options may include Machine1, Machine2, Machine3 and Other. On clicking 'Other', it should take me to another mashup where user can manually search for an asset. The 'OtherPage' mashup and dropdown list is already ready.    How can I link two mashups together so that once I click particularly on Other, it should navigate to 'OtherPage' mashup?   Kindly provide a solution. Hi,   I have a set of data coming in to thingworx from an industrial thing via opc aggregator. The data is fine in a Mashup as i can control the number of places of decimal in the mashup control... But when I send this data to vuforia, there is no control of places of decimal so I'm getting huge data values.   Is there any way to control this in thingworx to control places of decimal at the "industrial thing" level?   Thanks, Paul. 

@slangley    After successfully logging in using the ThingWorx Default Login page, the user will land on the home page mashup which i have created. If the user clicks on the browser back button while on this home page, we need to reload the page.  But if the user navigates to other mashups/ pages and clicks the back button it can navigate to the previous screen.   So basically Immediately after logging in i need make the Browsers back button behave like a reload and not allow the user to go back to the login page. How can i achieve this in thingworx??

I installed both Thinngworx foundation server and Industrial Connectivity, version 8.3 trial. The Thingworx foundation server is working well, I can connect to composer in Browser. However, I tried to configure IC to connect to Thingworx, and then get an error:    Date Time Level Source Event1/8/2019 10:50:18 AM Error ThingWorx Native Interface Connection to ThingWorx failed. | Platform = localhost:80/Thingworx/WS, error = could not initialize a secure socket connection.   Thanks a lot!

Hi all, I am using AutoDesk Inventor from long time. now we are looking for Integrate AutoDesk Inventor with Windchill. Can anyone please share technical information!  to begin like.. - I mean what's procedure for this? I`m currently looking for an alternative to OPC Aggregator (Kepware Server) to connect a OPC Server running on a Raspberry Pi to the platform and thought I could maybe use the Services?   Thank you!

Hello   We need to zoom to specific edge of model. For this, we are using API ProWindowPanZoomMatrixSet(). This is also there in example code. It works perfectly fine to zoom when edge is visible.    How to identify whether it is required to rotate model to make edge visible?   Any thought would be of great help.   Thanks in advance...! As for a simple example, i have 2 parts which is screwed with a preload of 20kn. The parts are in contact with each other.   How would i know the contact force AFTER CALCULATION?   Where could I find it or the process or option to get the value of contact force  

Greetings all,   I have a situation where there are dimensions on a drawing that show three place decimals. I would like to change them all to two place decimals without having to select each individual dimension. Is there a config or drawing setting that will change all the decimals to two place when the drawing is regenerated? Will the process be different if the dimensions are shown or created?I have updated my config file for new drawings but I am working with existing drawings at this time.   Thank you all for any assistance that you can offer.
