I could use some help understanding the differences between User Defined Features and Family Tables, working in Creo 10, how you choose which to use when trying to standardize/parameterize a particular component or feature, and why you would use a User Defined Feature that contains (or otherwise references) a Family Table or vice versa. Here is my current understanding of the differences:User Defined FeaturesCreated from features in a part file, may or may not maintain references to it (subordinate/standalone)Creates a .gph fileUsed with a series of defined prompts that relate to feature parameters (dimensions etc) and placement in the model using itInstances as a body or a modification to a bodyFamily TablesBased around a generic ancestor part fileCreates additional part files as you create instancesUsed by assembling instances of the relevant part fileInstances as a part
I am trying to do geotechnical calculations that I hope to refine.I hope someone can help me with whether it is possible to set up calculations via an input table with different soil layers, which give different stresses, which are used for equilibrium calculations. The simple problem below is solved as a simple hand calculation, but quickly becomes complicated when there are more soil layers, and when the rotation point jumps from different layers. is it possible to do an input tabel with "i" layers and devide all into "n" layers either by index methode ord vector. And then do the rotation calucation by means off "sum" or intregrate with their respektive "hn" I hope anyone can help me in the right direaction, i am not an expext in advanced use off mathcad
Hi, when I put the subassembly, wich parts are constrained to the straight lines in the picture below, in an assembly, I would like to modify the green circled sketch dimension from a value of 1160 mm to 1400 mm with 20 mm pitch dimensions: how can I do it without relations? Is there a method that allow this procedure with flexible dimension? Thank you, Michele Baril
Hi, Prime 10.0.0.0 problem, when using the odesolve, I can display the displacement vector, but I can't list the first and second derivatives, when using the prime operator. I can ask for discrete values, but the range variable, only works for the displacement term. I get a message stating that the "calculation is not converging to a solution", although I can plot it. Can anyone assist?,
I am pretty new to Creo Parametric and running into an issue where updating a part requires large amount of re-definition in assembly. I'm designing an adaptor between a t-slot beam and a table, the adaptor is applied 20 times over. Every time I make a change to the adaptor's sketch or thickness the assembly requires me to redo all the definitions of parts around all the adaptors. How should I avoid this?
I need to print and add to word these mathcad calcs with a bunch of warnings saying that the variable is undefined since these are all symbolic calculations:so i am not assigning a value to any of these variables at any point.surprisingly to me when I print, they all come like this: how can I get mathcad not to display these messages and highlights? edit: I went here, and tried selecting/unselecting everything and no luck:
I have an assembly that needs multiple configurations. In one configuration component A is assembled to component B. In another configuration, A is assembled to component C and B doesn't exist or is suppressed.I think using a Family Table and Constraint sets would be a great solution. In the first FT instance I have a Constraint Set that constrains A to B and in a second instance, I have another Constraint Set that assembles A to C. However, the problem is that when I suppress B in the second instance, A becomes suppressed as well. I'm assuming this is because the Constraint Set that is used in the first instance makes A a child of B. Is there any workaround for this? Is there any discussion about having disabled Constraint Sets severing or negating parent/child relationships? It seems to me that would make sense and open more flexibility when using Creo assemblies. Currently using Creo 11
I have a set of commands that sort through a text file to get values, make some of those values a number and then name those values. (See Attached). When I calculate the sheet, I can literally see Prime paint the values into my sheet. Is there a faster way?
Hello,Can I get assistance on this? We configured a new pc for the user and we need to install Mathcad onto the new system.
Is it possible to read data from several tabs in Mathcad 15 from an excel file?
I'm bringing in a value from a text file. I'm pretty sure Prime wants to display the value in radians. But the value is really 84.11 degrees. How can I make Prime display this as 84.11 degrees?
I can't get a texture to save in the company appearance.dmt with the texture file saved. Is that because the save_texture_with_model does what it says and saves the texture with the CAD file? Anyone have any luck saving a texture file in the appearance.dmt for use as a company standard? Hoping I am just missing something easy here. I tried putting the texture file (.jpg) in the same folder as the appearance file but that doesn't seem to be working. When I open up the appearance.dmt with a text editor the there is a color_map line that references my jpg filename so it is saved in that file. Does the full path need to be in there?
Good day to anyone, first time posting here! I've been having a very simple issue, but as I am accumulating an increasingly large amount of files and need to navigate multiple folders, it has become quite a hassle that Creo's 'File>Open' Menu only allows for opening a single .prt file at once. Unfortunately, as the files in question are only somewhat related, they are not part of an assembly and as such cannot be opened together using the 'Open Subgroup' option. In many other programs, I could use Control-click to select multiple files individually or Shift-click on two files to select all files inbetween, then have all selected files opened in their own respective windows after clicking the 'Open' button. Is there a hidden option to select that would allow me to open multiple files at once? Or could I somehow replace the file mangement system with a somewhat more user-friendly one? Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Any assistance in the matter would be very
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.2.0Need sample code for Pro/Toolkit C-API to form the following element tree...// PRO_E_SURF_CHAIN_CMPND// |-- PRO_E_SURF_CHAIN_REF_SURFS// |-- PRO_E_SURF_CHAIN_SURF// |-- PRO_E_SURF_CHAIN_REF
I am using Creo Simulate Release 11 and Datecode11.0.1.0We have created fnf file in creo simulate using FEA mode, then we loaded the fnf in creo simulate UI using external file with temp on required node. During loading we set reference temp as 22, after seeing in previews it shows 0 as ref temp.We ran multiple thermostructure analysis, but it shows its not taking 22 as ref temp. & showing worst resultAlso not loading controlled mesh in Creo simulateCreo version: 11.0.1.0
Hello,I have a Mathcad Prime 11 Student license and I need to install Mathcad 15.0 M050 (trial version) in order to use the XMCD/MCD Converter feature for converting legacy worksheets (.mcd, .xmcd) into the new .mcdx format in Mathcad Prime.Could you please provide me with the download link for Mathcad 15.0 M050 trial, or guide me on how to obtain it?I can share my Customer Number and Sales Order Number via direct message or email if needed.Thank you for your assistance.Best regards,Patrick Marcell Fandy
I want to reinstall my oldish (purchased in 2012) Mathcad 15 to work on some support files for one of my old textbooks. The license file manager tells me that the feature isn't available anymore for the product. I think this may be because I bought it as an upgrade from Mathcad 14. So as an alternative I tried to install my copy of 14, but it too was an upgrade from the previous version and I don't have my installation media for Mathcad 13 anymore. Any suggestions?
I have accidently pushed something while save matchad and this header and footer appeared and I cannot seem to get rid of it
Does the wrap command work in assembly mode? Specifically, I'd like to wrap a cosmetic sketch around a part's cylinder of an assembly model. Is this an option? For me, working in Creo 2.0 M250 currently, this seems impossible since while wrap is visible in the model>modifiers overflow tab, it's always greyed out. I can do it in the part file, so will result to that if all else fails.
Hi, I have an unwrapped curve of an oblique cut of a cylinder that I want to make it visible only in one view. The easy answer would be "make that view independent of the drawing layer status". But my situation is more complicated as the configuration of my assembly changes and it depends on the Drawing Program. So by making it independent I will make visible ALL the layers that otherwise should not be visible. Any idea how to resolve this "unresolvable" situation. All ideas are welcomed, not only ones realted to layers display: creating a new view overimposed of the existing one with just the curve on it or anything that could do the job. If you need some pic to see exactly what I mean, please ask. Thank you, Nic.
Cannot get a license for my MC14 which I installed on a new Windows 11 computer. When I run the Mathcad License Setup Wizard and log into my account, I get the ERROR: The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.MORE INFO:The old computer hard drive failed so I need to install MC14 on the new computer. This MC14 is an upgrade from MC 13. So, I also installed MC13 first along with the required .NET framework on the new computer. But, MC13 does not run (does not even start). For some reason this "issue" will not go directly to tech support?Regards,Die-hard Old-MC-non-Prime-User
Why does this element by element assignment not work?
Hi,I have created the overloaded CAD BOM in Creo, loaded them into Windchill, auto-associated WTParts with CAD Documents, and thoroughly defined Options and Variants. However, when I generate the Variant from the overloaded BOM in Windchill, it creates a variant assembly, but the top-level CAD variant is not being created and associated with the top-level Variant WTPart automatically. I have learned that an additional license module for Creo is required to generate the top-level variant CAD. Could anyone please advise which license module I should purchase to enable this feature?
Hello, I am having difficulty applying the solution here: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Maximum-Value-from-Tables/td-p/999431 I have set-up a minimum example here with two arrays. When I try to get the maximum, an error is caused by the range variable i, "This value must be an integer". I am using PTC Prime 9. Appreciate your help!
Hello, I have a Prime 11 file that I'm using 4 iterations of the INCLUDE Statement to pull data from 4 prime sheets. The processing is very slow. I'm thinking about using instead four sets of READTEXT commands as I can probably pull the data I need from the 4 prime files into 4 large text files. Then read the text files back into the Prime sheet in question. Seems like there would be more time creating the text files with WRITETEXT commands for each sheet. But processing the 4 big text files into my sheet should be quicker. Anyone has experience with these two alternatives? I see a number of questions regarding the INCLUDE statement.
