Is it possible to trim a radial axis pattern centerline ina drawing? ie: A bolt hole pattern centerline?Solution: Turn view into a partial view and cut off the excess centerline with view spline. So easy I couldn't see it staring me in the face. Thanks to all who replied so quickly. Wayne, I agree this isn't a preferred method, but for these parts which are made in house, it will work. Thanks!Chris<u></u>This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I'm using Creo Parametric 11.0.4.0. When I do File > Save As > Save a Copy and pick Creo View (*.pvz), the export fails and the message bar says "Creo View recipe file(proepview.pvr) can not be found." Here's what I've tried so far.In the Options dialog I left the three recipe fields blank and I saved the profile to confirm they really were empty.I looked in the config.pro and config.sup in Common Files and didn't see anything about recipes or Creo View. I also couldn't find intf_pv_recipe_dir or intf_out_pvs_recipe_file in the Configuration Editor, even though older posts mention them. When I searched my install, I found proepview.pvr in Common Files\applications\cvadapters\prodview\recipe, and export_pvs.rcp in Common Files\text\prodview. An older post here said they should be in the same folder, so I copied proepview.pvr into text\prodview. I also pointed export_profiles_creoview at that folder, restarted Creo, and tried again, but I still get the same error.Does anyone know w
I am trying to design a 2 stage epicyclic geartrain in Creo. i have assembled the sun, planet and ring gears of the two stages separately. how do I assemble the two stages together? the output from the planet carrier of the first stage would be the input to the sun gear of the second stage through a splined shaft. What constrains should I use and where?Or should i assemble everything in one assembly? Any help would be appreciated.
I have an assembly with almost 500 parts in it. Is there a way to change all the densities at once? More ideally, I would like to be able to select large groups and change, say ~300 parts to one density, then select another large group (steel), say ~200 parts to change to a different density (aluminum). I do not want to have to change the density part by part in the model tree showing MP_Density. I would prefer solution where I can select the large groups, then change all their densities together in a few steps. Thanks, Will
Hi Creo Community, I am trying to use Creo Trial via PTC and am having issues installing it on my machine (Windows 11), and I would like to see if anyone has had the same issue, and if so, could let me know what fixed it for them. After calling PTC support, they have said they don’t help with Creo Trial issues and that I should ask community.ptc.com for help even if I have a past customer number with PTC.The issue: I am able to download the file “Creo Parametric 13.4.0.0 CloudPlay” (2.5MB) from the Trial page, but when I try to install using this .exe I either get to the Creo Parametric splash screen and it hangs for hours or the splash screen disappears and the .exe file auto-deletes itself from my Windows Explorer “Downloads” folder.I have tried turning off the Windows Defender Firewall and running the .exe file as an administration, but the issues seem mostly the same. If anyone has be able to get through similar issues, please let me know, thank you
I’m trying to replace a 3x3x3/16 steel square tube with a 3x3x.25 aluminum tube. In 3 positions the switch worked. The other positions will ‘churn’ and then not update the filename and the OK will stay greyed out. What is happening and is there something i can do? Only 3 positions were updatedYou can see that it won’t update the filename. I’ve switched from steel to alum. The message log says that its been regenerated but that's not the case
After a month of experimenting and testing stability for PTC Creo, I would like to share my solution that will allow you to freely run PTC Creo on your Mac 😊Tested Requirements:These are the requirements that I have personally tested, any other version/device may not work similarly.Tested VMware Fusion Version: 13.6.4Tested 64-bit ARM Windows 11 build: 26100.4349Tested Mac Devices: Mac Mini M4 (24GB RAM), MacBook PRO M1 Pro, MacBook Pro M4 Pro, MacBook Air M3.Tested Creo Releases: Creo 10, Creo 12Tested MacOS Operating System: Tahoe 26.0.1Installation Steps:Download the latest 64-bit ARM Windows 11 build, or better, the one I listed. I sincerely recommend CrystalFetch app (it's free) for getting the ISO file. Create a new Virtual Machine on VMWare Fusion with the previous ISO.Install your Windows operating system, update it, configure it to your liking, etc...Make sure that in your VMWare settings you have enabled the following:1) Settings -> Display -> Accelerate 3D G
I have fastener holes on a curved feature that looks likes it was created with a resolve. I checked the fastener hole edge curves on both sides of this feature, which is nonplanar. One side of the hole is made up of two split arc edges. The other side of the hole is made up of two spit spline edges. The spine edges is an issue in creating a fastener in Simulate. I tied to use the Round to edit the spines but if this is the correct tool I can’t figure out how to replace the spine edge with arc edges. Does anyone know the approach to doing this? I only have the Creo Parametric not any advanced design add-on licenses.
Hello everyone,I have encountered an issue in Creo Parametric 11.0.2 that has been bothering me for many years. I hope someone can explain the reason or provide a reliable solution.I want to display the model mass in a drawing title block or a regular note, rounded to two decimal places: &PRO_MP_MASS[.2]For example, if the actual mass is: 0.058it should normally display: 0.06However, sometimes it displays: 0.058[.2]In other words, the value of PRO_MP_MASS is correctly retrieved, but [.2] is treated as plain text instead of being interpreted as a decimal formatting modifier. What is even stranger is that if I edit the same note and temporarily change it to: &PRO_MP_MASSAfter confirming, I edit it again and change it back to exactly: &PRO_MP_MASS[.2]it may immediately display correctly as: 0.06During this process, I do not modify the model, material, or mass properties. I only re-edit the note. This issue can occur both in the title block and in regular drawing notes, so I susp
I am using Windchill Bulk Migrator Release 13.1 and Datecode with CPS 13.1.2.0 We are performing a CAD data migration using Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) from a source Windchill system to a target Windchill 13.1.2.0 system. The migration involves CAD files such as Creo .PRT files. The physical CAD content is successfully copied/moved to the target vault and the file is present at the expected target file path with the expected physical filename. However, when the primary CAD content is downloaded from the target Windchill UI, the downloaded file is given a .PHA extension instead of the expected .PRT extension. Please advise how to correctly migrate/load the CAD content so that a Creo .PRT file is downloaded with the correct .PRT extension.
Hello everyone,I am facing an issue while thickening a surface model in Creo Composites. The same surface model can be thickened successfully to 4 mm in Creo Parametric, and the entire part becomes a solid body as expected. However, when I use the same layup thickness in Creo Composites, only part of the model gets solidified. As shown in the attached image, only the green-colored region is converted into a solid, while the remaining areas are not solidified. Are there any specific limitations, geometry checks, or composite-related settings that could cause partial solidification in Creo Composites even though the model thickens correctly in Creo Parametric?Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, regarding the groove turning command in the turning module: can we specify an angle for the tool's approach and retraction? Also, for profile turning, if it is possible to use multiple passes instead of a single pass, how do we set that up? Thanks.
Hi everyone, I’ve been using Creo Flow Analysis for quite some time and run into a frustrating issue in Creo11 where the ‘Open Projects’ button becomes inactive. here is the work flow:ran a thermal-fluid simulation and reviewed the results saved project close and restart creo when trying to load the analysis again, the open projects button is disabledAll associated project files are present in the working folderThere are non-ASCII, no spaces, no special charaters in the working folder path. Has anyone ele encountered this in creo 11? Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
When I import an assembly STEP (stezni_pribor_asm.stp) into Creo’s Part mode (File > Open > .stp, Type = Part, Import type = Geometry), the resulting part has wrong geometry: some solids in the STEP file come in as open quilts, some components are missing, and the rest overlap.Creo reports: Warning: Importing assembly in part mode. Geometry may be wrong.WARNING: One-sided edge found in IMPORT FEATURE. WARNING: Unattached IMPORT FEATURE was detected. WARNING: Unattached IMPORT FEATURE was detected. WARNING: Feature creation resulted in overlapping part geometry. Warning: Design intent is unclear. Use Geometry Checks command on the Tools Tab for more information. The same file imported with Type = Assembly comes in perfectly - every solid component comes as a solid, correctly placed. I have attached the step file and screenshots of both imports - the same STEP file imported as a Part, and imported as an Assembly for reference.Questions:1. Is Part mode supported for an assembly STEP,
I have an assembly with 5 different components and I'm planning to create 7 different instances. 4 of the 5 components will always be painted the same color, but the 5th component needs to be a different color (color-coded for each of the 7 instances). When I assign that component a color in the generic assembly, the same color propogates to each of the 7 assembly instances. Anybody know how to overcome this problem?
Hi all,I want to have a mapkey that calculates the surface area of the cross section of an extrusion profile and then paste the value in a new created parameter. What is the best method to do this, i tried with the volume of the part and the length comming from the parameters from the boundry box but it doesn’t seem reliable due to the ID changes of the boundry box feature. What are different methods that work?
I don’t want to receive this warning every single time I open Creo 13 and activate a part for the first time. Is there any way to turn this warning off? Removal of Assembly - Level Features warning
The ZIP archive contains Notepad++ UDL files for config.pro and drawing setup (dtl) options. I've created them for following CAD versions: WF4 (= Pro/E Wildfire 4) CEP5 (= Creo Elements/Pro 5, formerly Pro/E Wildfire 5) CP2 (= Creo Parametric 2) CP3 (= Creo Parametric 3) CP4 (= Creo Parametric 4) Basis for the options were the lists of Olaf Corten (thanks for them) http://proesite.com/UTIL/view_config.html and http://proesite.com/UTIL/view_setup.html. General config.pro options get shown dark blue and bold. Hidden config.pro options get shown in a lighter blue, bold and italic. Comments get shown brown and can be folded, if they consist of several lines. Drawing setup (dtl) options alse get shown dark blue and bold. To add a UDL file to Notepad++, choose "Language" and then "Define your language" in the menu. In the dialog which is opened then, choose the button "Import" and then the appropriate XML file. https://github.com/DonChunior/Creo-Configuration-Files
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.12.0There is a "mirrored bodies id" feature in my part. When I updated the part it was referencing the mirrored part did not get updated. How can I edit this to fix it? There is not a "edit definition" when I click on the "mirrored bodies id" feature.
I am facing an issue while importing a STEP file into Creo Parametric. The attached STEP file contains six geometry entities named "Surface". In the STEP file, these are represented as MANIFOLD_SOLID_BREP entities, each containing a single planar ADVANCED_FACE.The surface geometry appears correctly in the source application, but after importing the STEP file into Creo, these surfaces are not represented as expected.Could someone clarify how Creo interprets this type of MANIFOLD_SOLID_BREP representation during STEP import, and whether this is expected behavior or if a different STEP surface representation is required? I have attached:The original STEP file. Screenshot of the expected representation. Screenshot of the resulting geometry in Creo after STEP import.
Good morning, Community,Please see attached for you help. I’m trying to find the thickness of angle for a “Pour Stop” on metal deck, my question is the symbolic equation suppose to show the thickness in “inches” but was showing the result in a different way.
Hi, how can I write all math symbols in creo notes with isofont?
I have googled this numerous times and researched this forum to no success:( What's the best way to constrain a x5 hydrostatic journal bearing crank in Creo mechanism for a dynamic study on the forces on the x5 separate bearing/supports DavidCREO 13
I’m interesting in hearing from anyone that has used the Creo UG/NX Collaboration tool?We are starting manufacturing a product in the UK that is currently manufactured by our sister company in Germany. They have all the cad data in NX, but I think they use windchill as data management. The question is, does this extension really allow you to edit the NX data in CREO. I have seen something similar in Solidworks where it interrogates the CREO model and basically redraws the part in Solidworks automatically. This produced something that looked correct on the outside but the way the model was generated didn’t make much sense and consequently made editing difficult.I suspect that I’m going to have to redraw the parts on CREO manually as they are mostly sheet metal components, and I am doubtful that the conversion will be seamless.Does anyone have experience of this? Bearing in mind these converted files will be used for manufacture and be subject to revision.
Hi everyone,When I try to integrate a custom family table into IFX, I am unable to select a length, only the thread size. The parameter LG does not seem to be readable. However, I cannot find any errors in the .PRT or .DAT files.I have attached my original files. We works with Creo 8.Perhaps someone can help me?Thanks in advance.Best regards,Peter
