Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I’m have a CFD project with an oil/water heat exchanger in a hydraulic tank. I would be studying how effective the cooler is at lowering the temperature of the oil over a given time so, it would be a transient analysis. The cooler has two cores with water looping through them in series. Each core has 182 copper tubes that are 0.4 mm thick and 170 aluminum fins that are 0.25 mm thick with a spacing of about 1.73 mm. I want to do cunjugate heat transfer across the solid geometry, but with so many components that are thin walled, the number of cells in the mesh woul be astronomical.  I'm looking for suggestions on a basic approach to this analysis.  Can the tubes and fins be compressed to mid-surfaces and run in CFA? That would require fewer cells in the solid domains. I see that there is something buried in the mesher about two fluid heat exchangers, but I haven't been able to find information on how to utilize that. Some direction there would be helpful too.  &n

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a Creo Flow Analysis for a vacuum system. I was able to successfully set up an internal flow simulation, but I am facing errors when trying to include the ambient airflow around the nozzle.What I have set up successfully:Internal flow only:Inlet (nozzle entry): Set as 101325 Pa (atmospheric pressure).Outlet (nozzle exit, connected to the vacuum system): Defined as Volumetric Flux 400 m³/h (0.111 m³/s).This setup runs without issues.What I am trying to add:I want to simulate how air is being drawn from the surroundings into the nozzle.To do this, I added a large surrounding box to represent the air environment.The walls of the box are defined as inlet and outlet pressures (atmospheric pressure, 101325 Pa).The issue:When I include the ambient air domain, I get errors on the inlet and outlet boundaries of the nozzle.It seems like Creo does not handle both the internal flow and external airflow together properly.My goal is to see where the noz

Hello, I am trying to render a simple fluid flow simulation in Simulation Live for Creo 9.0.1.0. When I add particles to the display it runs at about 2 FPS, this is with the Performance options set all the way to the left for "Speed". At this time, Creo is using 0-2% of my GPU.However, what is interesting, is when I rotate the model, the GPU usage jumps up to 60-70% and the FPS is smooth (closer to 30 FPS or more).  I want to be able to have this speed and quality of animation without having to continuously rotate the model. Is this possible?   

So, I joined a company that uses CREO 10. When I got here, I found out they also have SW Pro with SIM Pro with ECAD thermal analysis. I asked why and they stated that CREO Sim doesn't provide ECAD thermal analysis. So, I personally would rather use SW for our CAD - especially since we do the ECAD sim in SW already. Otherwise, it would be great to find a solution for CREO and move away from SW Sim. Now I know Ansys runs within CREO - but does CREO have a basic ECAD thermal simulation that is acceptable? Keep in mind money is the driving factor here - so spending 10's of thousands of dollars is not an option. So, the process of going from CREO to SW is just painful. If CREO has a decent solution it would solve a ton of issues. Is CREO simulation - especially for ECAD that bad? So, what does SW ECAD Sim offer - it allows for PCB board simplification allowing to input the PCB layers with copper weights - it allows for 2-R definition of electrical components - it allows for CFD an

I have been performing mechanism analysis for some time but I usually use align two entities and mate two entities  option when creating initial point snapshots, either method gives me same results. I wonder what's the main difference between two options , I would like a very good use case to differentiate between them both. 

I'm looking for some advice. It seems that ProDrawingFromTemplateCreate() does not allow for the use of a simplified representation to be utilized to create a new drawing (resulting in the drawing being created with 'master'). I want to avoid loading 'master' into a newly created drawing. How are others working around this limitation? I'm considering this approach:- Supply ProDrawingFromTemplateCreate() with a temporary empty assembly model to create drawing- Use ProDrawingAsmsimprepAdd() to add a preselected simp rep to the drawing- Delete the temporary assembly from the drawing. Thoughts?

Hello,I'm currently trying out the new Ansys Simulation Module. By doing so I wanted to run a couple of simulations but the Buttons "run" and "Generate Mesh" are greyed out. I've checked with a couple of different models and I've also created one just for checking the behavior. Even with just a cube, I can reproduce this behavior (Screenshots attached). Has anyone come across this problem and knows how to solve it? I'm starting to think it must have something to do with some settings?    Any help is appreciated! 

Hi, I am trying to add BOM index and other part parameters in 3D MBD in creo. As Creo does not provide parametric tables, I am creating some parameters inside parts and want to show in the symbol attached to part.   When I tried to use note with parameter, &description:att_mdl, it showed part level information.   But if I add it in symbol, this does not work. If I add &description:mdl using variable text, it shows the assembly description, not part description where it is attached.   Please let me know if anyone have any other workaround or solution.  

Hi!  First time poster here. I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place. Long story somewhat short: I use creo parametrics 8. After adding new fonts to my c/windows/fonts folder, I opened creo to find it looking like this (see attached photo) I have tried changing UI font size to small, doing a different font.. None of it has made a difference. There are no changes to any other software on my computer.  Any helpful ideas for a fix? Thank you!

Hi, I'm using Creo 8.0.10.0. I am trying to create a mapkey that will create/set a yes/no feature parameter ("Feat Param") from the model tree in an assembly. However, I need to be able to tell Creo which feature (part or subassembly) in the model tree is to have the parameter applied to, but when I click on the parameter field in the model tree, the parameter window opens and the mapkey window then becomes inactive and I cannot pause/resume or do anything until the parameter window is closed. Is there any other way to set these parameters that would maybe allow the mapkey to be recorded?  Thanks,Matt

 I upgraded the Creo Parametric Educational software from version 9.0.1.0 to 11.0.4.0 on our Citrix servers. The students access the application from the cloud. I noticed on the Creo dashboard under the Common Folders the server is directly accessible. Is there a way to lock this down in the application, so the students only have access to the required drive on the server to save their work? Any guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you. 

We have two Creo Citrix Windows 2019 servers that have been flagged for a software vulnerability. This is the PTC Creo Parametric version 9.10.1.0. It states that the following software has been installed in this path: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 9.0.1.0\Common Files\x86e_win64\gpost\ncjlibs\  is version 11.0.11.9.1 but the fixed version is 11.0.14.10.1.  When I went to the AWS website the it shows that available version is actually 11.0.25. Should I use this version? Does this have any impact on how the Creo software functions?  Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you. 

I have a model from a previously released Assembly that has a mystery shaded plane "thing"...it is not a plane, not selectable, not in the model tree, not in any layer including solids, is shown in everything: the drawing, assembly, the generic prt and both family table prts: which indicates the item is not formed on the asm or only on a family table prt (must be on the generic).  I need it hidden.  Also - how on earth is this possible?  I have tried hiding everything in the layer and model trees...everything including the solids...it always stays.  It is NOT shown if I switch to a non-shaded view on the drawing only (remains no matter the view in the open model). Creo 9.0.3.0. 

Hi, see attached gif I want to copy text from outside of creo (notepad or another text editor). I cant seem to copy text as "enclosed text". I try to copy "@[Enclosed text @] some other text" into a drawing note and it doesn't work. after I click properties, I need to delete the extra @ creo added. see attached gif am I doing something wrong?

Hello, I am hoping that there might be a way to adjust a single character in a &REF note in my drawing. The issue is that my font does not discern between 1 and I and I hope to potentially adjust a single character of the note. I'm sure y'all are aware that attempting to edit the text it converts to something akin to "&REF_DES:" making a change to a single character impossible.If there is a not a way to adjust a single character in the reference note, there will be no issue for me to replicate the reference leader note anyways.Thank you

Hello all,Currently using Creo 11 (recent update to).Tried moving radial (& diameter) dimension in Drawing by just grabbing the text but it only changed the length of the leader. When I grab the leader it "rotates" along the arc.I use to be able to grab the text & do both.Is there some setting for Drawing or Config.Pro that needs to change so I can just grab the text & relocate the text where I want rather than the two-step process of change angle of leader then change leader length?Thanks!

Anyone have any tips for finding the single sided edges of a merged surface which are preventing a Solidify? I have the upper and lower surfaces of a water jacket which ideally are supposed to merge and solidify so I can use it as a cut from the stock cylinder head. The surfaces merge but Solidify isn't available when you select the merged surface. It looks like there are multiple tiny single-sided edges but I can't find a way of identifying them all.

We are running Creo 9.0.5.0. I created drawing formats and templates in 9.0.9.0 and copied them to our other system. In the titleblock I have a surface finish symbol from the text library included with Creo. On my computers, it shows properly like this: On one of my users, the surface finish symbol is a box.  What could be causing the font to be missing on one computer but not the other. We use a network install of Creo, so everyone is pointing to the same installation of Creo on each network. This is what makes it really confusing.

Hi all, Hoping someone can assist with a solution to this problem. I have just redone my department's drawing template and formats in Creo Parametric 10.0.3.0. However, the original templates we used had our logo in the title block of the drawing format, seemingly embedded as a OLE using MS Paint (?). However, during the process of our computers being upgraded to Windows 11, the logo no longer appeared in the title blocks for drawings (in the printed and pdf exports as well). So, during the template/format updates, I added the logos back into the format as a .bmp OLE via the "MS Word" option. This seemed to work, and all users were able to see the logo - in Creo, as well as printed and pdf exported - along with the logo propagating to new sheets on creation. However, the issue was that regardless of the pdf export settings, the logo would always be a very low resolution & have extremely noticeable pixelation around the edges (not shown in Creo representation).&n

I am using Creo Simulate Release N/A and DatecodeN/AI am running a simulation on a two piece aerofoil. The applied pressures are entered via .fnf files generated using Creo Flow Analysis. The aim is to run a baseline configuration and obtain the Fx and Fz loads to give lift and drag. The next step is to vary the angle of the aerofoil flap and compare the values for Fx and Fz to baseline.Unfortunately the assembly will run in baseline configuration and with the flap angle increased by 1 degree, but fails if the flap angle is reduced by 1 degree. Hi all, So we are in the middle of changing our creo 4 to creo 11.0.2.0. I used Creo 4 for years on this machine, never had any issues with licensing (as the way it should be since it is a locked license for a certain MAC address). The machine in question is a workstation laptop, so it has multiple MAC addresses (one for LAN, one for wi-fi 2.4Ghz, one for wi-fi 5Ghz. Creo4 used the lan's MAC address). Now, as Creo 11 comes in the picture I face multiple issues:- at the installation, it sees a different MAC address , so I moved the license to that address, so it allows me to complete the installation- if I change from 2.4Ghz network to 5Ghz one, creo11 won't start ("Invalid host name")- if I change from wifi network to lan, creo11 won't start ("Invalid host name")- after installation, it only works with active internet connectivity- even if creo11 starts, "license is lost" message appears every 3 minutes or so, if I click on retry, I can continue to work, "Regained floating li

[Creo 8] So i have a flexed board and everything works great.  If I deleted a component,  how do i get it back? the  baseline .idx is all i have.  the validate tool still shows it and wont bring it back in.  I've watched the east coast demo and it didn't cover that.  No real training on the PTC UNIVERSITY on this.  

I often have the situation where I need the same settings for a hole (diameter, counterbore) and use them for another hole in the same part. I have seen that in creo there is the option to copy and paste construction elements such as holes, profiles etc., so is there maybe an option to copy and paste the settings for a hole that I already used, or do you have to set up diameter, depth, counterbore etc. each time that you are creating a new hole?

Hello All, I have been using Creo 10 for about a year now with a SpaceMouse Enterprise.  Recently, when I have an assembly open (doesn't happen in individual part files), I get the regular red "diamond" that shows me the spin center when moving the model with the SM, but I also get an additional red "dot" now that I have not seen before.  Additionally, when I let go of the SM to stop moving the model, it then shifts in a random direction, sometimes up to 1/5 of the screen, away from where I moved it to....   I think that second red dot is linked to the weird shift as I had not had the shifting issue before this dot appeared.  How do I make it go away? Updates:  - The red dot only appears when rotating with SM.  When rotating with MMB, I get no red dot, but the model shift is still there.  It is actually more severe when using MMB, causing the model to shift out of frame.- Closing the model, and re-opening seems to have "f
