I first tried to find something about this already on the forums, but my searches came up with nothing, so I will present it.As probably everyone here knows, text can be added to a dimension by going into its properties. For the longest time, in all the Pro/E versions I've used up through Wildfire 2, the dimension line has always automatically moved to make room for this additional text after it has been typed in. However, I noticed that when we moved up to Wildfire 5, the dimension lines no longer make room for any added dimension text. There is room for the actual dimension value itself, but not for the extra text, and the dimension line cuts right through it, which looks awful. See my attached image for visual reference. On the left are screen captures from Wildfire 2, and on the right, from Wildfire 5 (or Creo, which is what we have now). To be precise, what we are using now is Creo Elements/Pro 5.0, build M090.I do not like this. I want it to work like it did in WF2 and before. Is

Hello all,   Has anyone found a font that ships with Creo, or is otherwise public domain free that faithfully reproduces text according to ASME Y14.2M?  It is a san-serif font in general except for the letter 'I' which has serifs like this: 'I' and is shown not monospaced in figure 15 of the 1992 version of the standard on page 13.  The digit one has no serifs, hence the 'I' has the serifs I guess.   Best Regards, - Jim T.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have a model that I would like to have a smaller version of. So every aspect of it would be smaller by the same factor. Is there a way to scale down a model?

We've just gone from 5.3 to 6.1 M030.  I was not allowed to access the release notes on ptcusercommunity.com ("Account not authorized").  Does such a "differences" list exist in an accessible place?Thanks,Mic

Hello,I am unable to uninstall PTC Creo Simulate / Parametric / Layout and Direct 3.0 Datecode [M030] Version. When I press the uninstall button a little window opens up and it shows a red cross only. I am just able to close the windowm, but nothing happens...How do I uninstall these programs ?Thank you

Using a Given ... Maximize(f,x) solve block.  The equations work correctly for a test case.I'm re-writing the worksheet to process a table of inputs I'm reading from Excel.  So I need to run the solve block to find the maximum "x" for each row of the Excel data (e.g. 1000 times).  I've decomposed the input table into several arrays and have done a bunch of calculations on each "row" using range variables or "vectorize" operator.What's giving me problems is that the function f has more variables - f(a,b,c,x).  So for each "row", a, b, and c are fixed, and I need to find x that maximizes f.  The next row, a, b, and c are different, but they are considered as fixed values for the purposes of finding a new x that maximizes f.I made an example in Mathcad 15.  Oddly enough, the simple example I made works.  But if I add units, the solve block fails.  Even stranger, the original worksheet with a single case used units and the solve block worked.Looking

I apologize if this has been asked before as it would seem something others would have asked but my search of the blog returned nothing. In the attached file I have a simple 2nd order linear DE. I can see to extract individual values from the Odesolve output. I've also figured out how to extract the response to a vector. My question is how to know I've captured all the important content from the Odesolve output with my selected time increment of .01s. What if I was looking for the exact maximum. Seems like with my approach I'm only getting an approximation of the Odesolve output.

Hi allI'm currently having an issue with drawings of assemblies that contain twisted wires (which I'll be making a lot of)The wires display perfectly fine with a Shaded display, but when I change the display style to "No hidden", I get a lot of extra messy lines that should not be visible. The tangent edges setting and all other "View Display" settings do not have any impact on this. I can't seem to get a clean line drawing of these twists! I know that rendering issues like this happen with interfering parts in assemblies, but the wires are separate and there is no interference.A picture is attached of the same wires in "Shading" mode and "No hidden" mode.Any ideas on how to remedy this? Hello Everyone,For a project at work we are planning to use the VB API of Creo 2.0 to automate some engineering processes. I have set up Creo Parametric 2.0 (M110) and it works so far. I have also successfully run vb_api_register.bat and have added the correct reference to the VB API examples project. In the Object Browser of Visual Studio I can explore the methods, classes, interfaces and so on that the API has to offer. I create a section view of a ball and socket in an assembly.  I want a dimension from the bottom of the socket to the center of the ball.  I'm using driven dimension for this purpose and design intent.  The dimension is created but will not show up unless the cursor is over the top of it.  I tried adding an offset plane to move the dimesnion to but I have to off set it considerably (off the part completely) to make it work.  Why does dimensioning a section cause this problem?  What are some work arounds or settings that I can use to get the dimension to consistantly show?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. We control many of our documents in PDMLink as a sub-type of "Document".  One of my users put in a PDF as this document sub-type.  Now they want to replace the PDF with a DOCX file.  But every time we try to check it in the File Name gets a "-1" added.For example: The PDF file name is 123456.pdf and the docx file is 123456.docx.  But when we check it in it changes it to 123456-1.docx.Has anyone seen this and/or know why it happens?The Number field is the same for both the PDF and DOCX.

I have Thingworx 6.03 running on Tomcat 8.0.24 with Oracle 1.8.0_51 JDK on Linux - Tomcat silently catastrophically dies when the scheduled ThingWorx DB backup occurs. Has anyone tested the latest versions of Tomcat, Java, and ThingWorx? I followed the installation guidance with these framework versions, and when the TW backup process (Neo4j db file copies) complete in the Tomcat 8 Catalina.out log, the Tomcat process dies, no debug o/p. I can restart Tomcat, and it runs fine until the next Neo4j scheduled DB backup, and then dies silently again. hi guys,I am trying to understand the significance of wt.queue.executeQueue property. We had set this property to false, when we were migrating the objects into a Windchill 10.2 M020 (Clustered Environment) server. Earlier I was thinking that we are setting this to false, as it is a clustered environment that we are dealing with. I also thought that setting this property to false, enables only the Background Method Server to run the queues, not the foreground servers.Now this property had been changed to true in the servers.At this moment, I really don't know how this property works anymore. Hi,I need to include Requested Promotion State and Process Initiator in Promotion Request Task notification email, send to Approver. I will change Task notification email template to include Process variables via getProcessVariable command.Both Requested Promotion State and Process Initiator are already included in activityAttributes command in email template, but this command also includes bunch of other stuff, which is not needed. Hi!When I import WTParts with the representations files or when the visualization is going on I have the window with the pvsthumb.exe crashed error. Anybody know how to solve this problem?

Our company makes weldment assemblies that each cutplate is dependent on a base machining part.  We then make a drawing of the weldment assembly and also add all the cut plates that make up the assembly to the drawing.  All the cut plates are detailed on the last few sheets of the drawing.  When I switch to one of these sheets it automatically sets the drawing model to the model of the first placed view, instead of staying with the current active model.  This is frustrating because you then have to set the active model to the assembly every time you switch sheets to regen all of the parts.  This was not the case in WF2.0 (what we upgraded from).  Any ideas on how to keep the active model?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I am getting unwanted breaks on witness lines in Creo's drawing mode.  Not sure why they are occurring. I've tried clearing all breaks but that doesn't appear to work.   I made the dimension value an "F" by selecting "Display Tolerance Value Only" in my settings and by selecting "Tolerance Mode: Nominal".  This issue seems to only affect horizontal dimensions.  Please see attached screen clips for my detailed settings.  Can somebody explain how to fix this? Hello,We are migrating to Windchill 10.1.We are building our CAD models and CAD assemblies first and then trying to synchronize the Part structure with the CAD.We are having difficulties in understanding different errors that come up in the 'Compare Part/CAD structure'.A few of those are the green plus sign, red minus sign, yellow exclamatory sign, a clock like symbol(It says something about Update).Do you guys have any thread/document which would help us understand different errors and the best possible way to solve them?
