Is Creo View constantly popping up the 3D Connexion Properties window for you?   I put in a ticket for this and PTC tech support is investigating.   Here is the discussion on the 3D Connexion forum: http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4710   I'll post updates as information is available.

Greetings. Refering to the attached, I have two solve blocks. The second (right side) is the same as the first (left side), except I've unsuccessfully attempted to parameterize the result such that I may vary the two constants (dy and L). MathCAD seems to have thrown up on this for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings, Due to XP end of support, we're migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7 (64 bit). However, while trying to configure our new license server machine, the PTC License Server installer contained in our Isodraw 7.2 M20 package fails to start. We have another machine with a node-locked license, and Isodraw 7.2 runs fine under Windows 7. It's just the License server installer which won't work.Does anyone know if there are any compatibility issues with Windows 7 or whether if a newer release is needed?Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if the XML from DITA OT and Resolved Map from Arbortext Editor -> "Edit Resolved Document" -> "Style" are the same?Do they have the same structure?Thank you for your help in advance. I have been trying to set up a constrained minimization problem parametrically, so it behaves rather like a function. From reading previous discussions, I understand that solve blocks cannot be placed in programs. However, the Quicksheet on Constrained Nonlinear Optimization shows that it's possible to parameterize some parts of an optimization, specifically, (1) the guess values, and (2) additional parameters of the objective function that are not involved in the optimization. I've attached the Quicksheet with those two items highlighted. BUT... is it possible to parameterize the constraints? For example, the values 2 and 9 in the Quicksheet's constraints. Ideally, one would write a program containing the solve block, but that's not supported. Any workaround? Thanks in advance to any of you who can shed light on this. To all,I am currently using WF4, and will soon be moving to Creo3. I have a copy of Creo2 Student Addition, and was testing to see if any of my current mapkeys will still work, or if I need to re-do them.I am finding most need to be re-done. Dear Axeda folks,we are currently trying out the V2 REST API, that is shown in https://mentor.axeda.com/.With this, we want to replace the Groovy Scripts we are currently using, so that we do not have to maintain them, but just use the REST API.When trying to migrate the functionality that one of our Groovy Scripts delivers, I found a point that confused me:How do I get a Mobile Location of an Asset via the REST API?I managed to get the location (which is fixed), but not the coordinates, the Asset is currently located at (and since we're building a tracking application, the current location of an Asset changes very often and is very importent for the application).Does anybody know how to do this?Thanks,Marc

Hi, I tried to launch Creo Parametric 2.0 student version after i downloaded, but i encountered a fatal error. The system says: "Fatal error encountered. A traceback has been written to C:\Users\Public\Decouments\traceback.log Please send it to Technical Support."Does anybody know how to solve this problem?Thanks

I am wondering if there is a way to use map keys to apply a relation to the part, and allow it so when you hit the map key more then once the relation isnt duplicated. I got this to work to apply a relation to a part with a map key, but if I hit the map key more then once it duplicates the relation, im not sure if there is a "if" statement i have to provide or not.   Thanks!   BrockThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have my part files set up to have a default absolute accuracy of .0012.When I import a STEP model the properties show an accuracy of .0012 and the model is almost sealed.I exported this same model as a STEP model file (because I wanted to import the model to a different DCS location).When I import this model it comes in at an accuracy of .007 instead of my default .0012, and the model registers numerous bad vertice errors that it didn't have before.During the export process I noticed a callout of step_config.pro when I click on options. It doesn't tell you what that is supposed to do, but perhaps somehow this is how the STEP options can be modified to match the part model defaults.Any idea in how to modify the accuracy of STEP exports? Hello,I'm trying to solve an ode in Mathcad Prime 3.0 using odesolve. I know the analytical solution (which I used to calculate the "initial" condition since the actual problem has a Neumann BC @ x=0 and I believe that for second order ode's we cannot use a Neumann bc as the "initial" condition).The problem I'm having is that Mathcad says that the units are not compatible. However, I have triple checked the units and they are correct.Please take a look at the worksheet attached and let me know your thoughts/comments/suggestions.Thanks!

Hi Everyone...     Starting directly after the PTC Live Global conference in June (9th-12th), PTC/User is holding it's bi-annual "face to face" Technical Committee ("TC") meetings. These meetings are held twice a year- once in January at PTC Headquarters and again at the PTC Live Global (in Anaheim this year).   For those of you are not familiar with what these committees do, here's a description:   Volunteers from PTC customers and other interested individuals comprise the membership of these Technical Committees. Working closely with PTC, the Technical Committees provide product feedback, enhancement requests, and other information that helps to influence future software development. At the face-to-face meetings,Technical Committee members have direct access to PTC software developers and Product Line Managers. These are the people responsible for enhancements, upgrades, and future functionality for all PTC products including Creo/ProE, Windchill, and Creo View.

I am solving two equations in two unknowns. One is linear so I can just solve it, substitute into the other (nonlinear) equation, and use the root function to get the result. This works fine as illustrated in the attached worksheet. But when I try to use a solve block to find both unknowns, I get an error. I am sure I am doing something stupid but I cannot see what it is.

Hi,I am working on a inductor/transformer design. I did a sheet with one calculation I am happy with. I did a copy of it, and pasted it just below. I would have assumed all variables would be reaffected, and it would all work well.Except it didn't. With the exact same input, copied below, one of the result is wrong (and quite obviously, since the unit is all messed up).Se attached document : in the first calculation, Bmax = 0.402T ; in the second, Bmax = 0.013 m T / A. Again, it is just a "brutal" copy and paste ...Thanks

First time poster, long time proe user...Finally updated all my map keys in creo 2, well, so I thought but noticed that any map key starting with a "p" or "o" don''t work. They work if you manually run the map key in the Map Key dialogue but not out of it?... Anyone notice this or have a reason for it/solution or should I just relabel them?

These messages are a bane to me when removing legacy users or user groups, I had a similar issue with removing contacts when they were tied to unknown devices, but found i could easily retrieve that information with a custom object to get all contacts for all devices, but for user groups associated to Actions (or triggers? Does this mean Rules?) I have yet to find a slick solution:     I have had a look at mentor.axeda.com to see if i have grab all my Actions/Rules in one go, but there doesn't seem to be any properties for their user group associations, i also had a look at the user group classes but also did not see what i was looking for,   Any idea's on an easy way to resolve these would be gratefully received!   Many Thanks, Alan

Hello all. My company is updating Windchill 9.1 to Windchill 10.2. We are currently using Creo Elements/PRO 5.0 M090. Today I am updating Creo Elements/PRO 5.0 to build M220 so that it will function with Windchill 10.2. In about 6 weeks we will upgrade to Creo 2.0, after havening proven out Windchill 10.2. I have two questions, In my current installtion of Creo Elements/PRO 5.0 M090 I have removed/checked in EVERYTHING from my workspace so that it is now empty. Is that really necessary? Some of our designers have really a large number of files in their workspaces. When making an assembly from multiple parts, is it then possible to lock the current version of the part to this specific assembly?When making an assembly for the workshop, for test purposes, it would be nice to have the ability to control which version of the parts are used in the assembly. We are using MKS Integrity 2009 SP5. Yes, I know we need to upgrade, but we are under-staffed.I am trying to make a calculation (Computed expression Integer type field) work. When I try to edit an item I get an error "Division by zero has been detected processing the query on the server". I understand the error. I don't know how I can resolve it. What I am doing is dividing 2 integer fields to return a percentage. Example: field3 (Integer) computed expression: "field1" / "field2". These 2 fields are divided to give a percentage.If field1 = 10 and field2 = 100 then field3 should display 10%.However, if field1 and/or field2 has zero (default) then the division error is displayed. I understand you cannot divide a number by zero.If field1 = 0 and field2 = 100 then field3 should display 0%.How can I get it to simply calculate or say 0%, because that is what it should be?Thank you,

Hi everybody,Currently in an internship, I learn to use creo 2.0 by myself. For fiew days I have a problem and I hope you can help me. I modeled an engine on creo parametric and now I need to do an animation to show how the engine works (make move together gear, piston, valves... ). I can see everything turn when I run an analyse in the mechanism module and import it in the animation module of creo parametric, but I would like to see the engine in a section view to see inside the engine (the most interresting..).So the problem is that when I activate the section view and that i go to the animation module of creo parametric, the full view is automatically apply. I try to use creo illustrate who is made to creat animation but it's exactly the opposite, I can apply the section view but i can't make move all the parts together...So it' why i ask your help, is there a way to import the mechanism animation from creo parametric to illustrate? or an other solution to solve my problem?Thanks in
