Hi everyone. I'm new to this software. I just downloaded it yesterday and I hope I'm in the right place to ask questions. I just started doing the first quick project and was wondering if there's a way to take a snapshop/screenshot or export a view of the part I'm working on to say post it online or show it online for example? Also what are the different file extensions in the software? I don't think I've seen these so if anyone can clarify this for me that would be helpful. The version I'm using is at this link. Also forgive me if I got the place wrong, all the white background is making my eyes hurt. I'm on Windows 7 and I'm not sure if it's the browser or this forum. If there's a way to change this too, please let me know. I have a query that may become a product idea, I'm not sure: I have a large assembly comprising a small sub-assembly and a large sub-assembly. The large sub-assembly can be assembled in a number (say 5) of different positions by mating a certain surface in the large S/A with the appropriate one of 5 different surfaces in the small S/A. These positions are not defined in terms of dimension, but are rather determined by which of a number of surfaces is chosen to mate the large S/A to. In the past, I have made a family table, with 5 of the large S/A assembled to the generic and switched all except one off in each instance. That's OK, but it really is a large S/A, with all the associated difficulties arising from large assemblies. Stick it in 5 times and its response becomes somewhat sluggish. What I would like to do is assemble the large S/A once and have its assembly constraints as a column in the family table. I am having an issue with ProE5/Creo Elements. When I export a print to a PDF I can see the hidden lines, they are a light brown or green but when printed to paper they are so faint they really cant be seen. I have been through the whole pen table line thickness issue so I assumed it would be fixed there. From reading the hidden lines are driven by pen3, is that correct? Hi everybody !It's now two days that i search all the way to find a solution to install Creo 1.0. I want to install the school version i'm following the process that the help gives you. The trouble is that when i'm downloading Creo 1.0 License utility i can't make it run my computer show me two possibility : The installation is made correctly (if i press it nothings happen) Make a reinstallation (if i press it well nothing happens too !)I'm getting a bit crazy because then i can't create my PTC account and then i can't use it,I need it for my school project so if you can give me some advice i would be grateful !Have a good day and see you soon !Magdaléna

i have this long worksheet that creates graphs in the last page . I am investigating the effect of the parameters defined in the first pages of the worsheet on the final results(graphs) . each time I have to scrol several pages up , change a value , run the program scroll down and see the difference. doing this for several hundered times is makin me crazy!!!I there a way to assign a value to the parameters defined in the first pages from somewhere down in the worksheet?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to workaround Creo not having a "Inverse Selection"?Or any other selection workarounds/tricks?Thanks.

Hello,I have one of my students who installed Creo onto his laptop, a HP Pavillion dv6 running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Program apparently installed without any issue, though now every time he boots Creo the web page that opens when the program runs cannot be closed. See screen shot below.Can select new and create a new part, the model tool bar opens and you can select extrude or what ever. Apparently the program is operating with the exception that the web page cannot be closed and is as a consequent hiding everything behind it. Is there a setting we've missed? Any suggestions please?regardsIan

Hello every one,Until today I did not have to use footnotes in my documentation and I have an issue. I used the <fn> tag to create my footnote and inserted the content as below with an ID. But in my PDF I do not have a footnote at the bottom of the page, I only get the small 1 beside the text. Does anybody have a clue about what I did wrong? I am trying to find the way to insert the footnote automatically in the footer, but I can not find it.Thanks,

Hello,at the moment I'm programing a Mathcad program to evaluate different datafiles.For this it would be very helpfull to have a routine which is able to copy a datafile (in my case an Excel file) from a folder and paste it into another folder.I don't want to read in the data from the Excel file and create a new Excel file by using the funcions READEXCEL or WRITEEXCEL.Is there any possibility to create such an routine in Mathcad? Additional it would be also very helpful to rename the name of the file while the program is pasting it.Thanks a lot in advance!

I am a mentor for team FRC 3173 - IgKnighters. We very much want to use Winchill to share Creo CAD files. I am having troubles loading a first CREO CAD file into Windchill for others to access. I am able use the CREO Server Management function to log into the Winchill server. I am not able to get the Red arrow pointing to the server but rather a blue square shows up on the Server Management sub screen. I can see the Windchill file structure in CREO... but am not able to save any thing to the work space... View the Workspace in CREO... or upload\checkin any parts into Windchill for others to access. I have watched the Robotalks several times... and can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Is it possible for PTC to log into our Windchill site to confirm that some one can copy a CAD file to our Windchill site? Our site is" FRC 3173 - IgKnighters. Attached are some screen shots. I am a project manager on the site... Is there possibly some type of a role that I additionally have to add mys

My company is pretty new to Windchill we are using version 10.1 M040. One of my users got this error when trying to check in a part.The transaction log for database 'WindchillDB' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it, or do I need to submit a case with PTC?

I've recently been trying trying to price out new drive train options (the new COTS parts released by Vex Robotics). If it's relevant, my process for these files is typically to download the .step file from the VexPro website, then generate an assembly. After I've generated the assembly, I go in and assign weights, colors, etc. to all the parts, as well as reassembling the assembly in order to make sure the constraints are all right.My problem is that after I've gone through this process, I cannot generate a BOM for the assembly. When I try to do so, Creo throws a "Cannot open output file" error. I really don't know why this would be so, as I've successfully generated BOMs in Creo parametric before.Any suggestions for what the problem is and how I can fix it?

I would like to automatically create a subscription to object events inside a workflow, using java code.looking into the windchill class documentation, I found that I should probably be using the following code :wt.notify.NotificationHelper.manager.createObjectSubscription (wt.notify.NotificationSubscription, wt.notify.NotifySubscriptionRecipient, wt.notify.Notifiable, java.util.Hashmap<String, wt.fc.WTStringMap>, boolean)but I found no explanation on how to get or build the parameters for this function.I made some tries to create and initialise a wt.notify.NotificationSubscription object, a wt.notify.NotifySubscriptionRecipient object and a java.util.Hashmap<String, wt.fc.WTStringMap> object.I used a cast on my primaryBusinessObject to get a wt.notify.Notifiable object.But all without a lot of success.Does somebody have a small working code example that would show how to use this createObjectSubscription function ? I am looking to have all users on my network pull the same toolbars. I am thinking that I need to configure my creo as I would like all users to have it and export my creo_parametric_customization.ui file. However, I am unsure how to make all users automatically pull this file. I have created a fairly long and involved MathCAD document. I have reached a point where I wantto calculate the percentage of time that over 6 power phases a minimum stroke current exists. Ihave set up what I thought would be a decent way to compute this with six "if" statements in a"for" loop. All the expressions inside the "for" loop evaluate correctly outside the program. GenerallyI am just testing each increment of time for which current among the six is the minimum, and incrementinga constant by one each time this is true. At the end I simply want spit out an single row array of the finalconstant values. Nothing I do seems to generate a result at all. I may have problems with actual unitsin the program but I thought the use of distinct constant names (A1...) would be immune to those unitsin the other expressions. I attach the program only extracted from the larger document, and disabled.

Thanks in advance for any helpful recommendations.We recently upgraded Product View to Creo View Lite 2.0, datecode M040 build 15.This has not been a good experience.Many of our drawings will not open to be viewd and printed, and many means an everyday event.The files that fail are "EPM: As Stored xxxxxx.dxf".It appears that we may not have all the needed adapters in place, because there is no adapter (.inf) for a dxf.Looking in: C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 2.0\View\AdaptersIs there an adapter required?In the Options Drawing Viewer DXF-DWG a path statement for SHX exists as such: $PVIEW_HOME.i486_nt/realdwg/FontsAre more parameters required?Does anyone have experience with this also?If so what is the solution you have discovered?

HiI would like to work on a page size of A2, but such an option is not available in the drop down list under File -> Page setup -> Paper size.Alternatively, I see in that drop down list about 10 entries called "Custom Paper Size" but they are all set to 8.27x11369in (which means A4).How can you change one of these Custom Paper sizes? Selecting the "Custom paper size..." option in that drop down box does not have an effect.Regards,Cristian
