I have a question about aligning holes in an assembly. I have 2 parts that need to bolt together. One has a threaded hole that will accept a bolt (part #1). The second needs a countersunk socket head cap screw hole (part #2). I added the hole in the assembly but the hole doesn't show up when I look at the .prt file on part #2. I was able to align the bolt in the assembly. I tried to add the hole to part #2 first and thought I could then align it in the assembly. No luck. Can anyone offer some insight?

How do I set default values for tables. example I can highligh the whole, click on text style set color to green. hit apply. when i go to a cell and type in a value it returns it as bluje text.

Hi Guys,I usually work on creating machined drawing from machining casting model i.e. making casting as inheritance, but when I put a general view & tried showing dimensions by view, I ended up in getting casting(Inheritance) dimensions as well. I have voiced this before but thought I would again for Prime 3. I use insert Math region alot. However if I save a file with text and math regions within the text, when I reopen the file much of the time the text folds at the math region, that is everything from the Math region on is put on the next line. This usually interferes subsequent formatting. I then have to reformat the enire file, particularly if this happens multiple times in a file.

Hello,the remove_file function does not work anymore in my APE server. I've acl functions which clean files and they fail to remove files.It was working on another environment. But since I reinstalled APE on a new server, it fails.I checked access rights in DCOM and for the Tomcat service : the local system user has got full access to files.I also make a test by setting a very short time to live to Epic threads in order to force them to restart often and so to release their resources.Nothing work. Have you got an idea ?

Hi Gang,I am new to IsoDraw, my background has been in Autodesk products and Pro/E up to this point. So I am trying to master IsoDraw and have been asked to create a couple of macros to help expedite our process. The task I am trying to accomplish is taking many graphics we have created and scale them down to fit in a specific size and then export out to a CGM file. Where I am having some trouble is getting the size of the group of elements width X height. I want to take this data and determine the orientation of the group of elements portrait vs. landscape. Then I will scale the group using a specific size for either portrait or landscape. So if someone knows of a reference book for IsoDraw and macros within IsoDraw that would be incredibly helpful. I have the Macro language reference guide but I think I need a bit more help and information.Thanks for any and all help.Keith Howard

I am trying to hide/unhide some of the parts in my drawing. What would be the best way to do it? Okay, I am getting annoyed!I am trying to move a surface of an imported component by .001". Extrude is telling me I cannot move less than .003".I work with inches and I work with micron scale details. What do I have to set to make this kind of change?Seriously? Can't this software -at least- point me to what I need to set to make this kind of tweak to a part?

Can anyone help me with this, what should be simple, task of copying and renaming a model? For example:I have a model called A.prt and it has an associated drawing A.drw. I would like to make a new part "B" that only has different dimension from A.prt. I want to make a copy and rename it(kinda like the duplicate command worked in intralink) and also have it make the drawing as well. How do you do this in windchill.....it should be so simple shouldnt it??????Thanks,Matt

I would like to use remote workstation(s) to run Mechanica simulations. I followed the instructions for getting Distribute batch going, but the remote workstation never shows up as an available server. My screen is working terrible in mathcad. Does anyone have a clue what could be causing my screen to ghost up the way it does. Sometimes i click on a region then off of it and I get ghosting. I have a professional grade graphics card. Quaddro 4000. I don't have issues with Autocad or Inventor. Why mathcad? See images included.Benoit

Dear All,Does anyone know if there's a part specific option or setting that affects the quality of the edge lines & shading? I have two similar sized small simple cylindrical parts (Ø8), in the same session of Pro/E, one has round edges where you'd expect them, the other part is very faceted. Changing the Edge Quality in the Model Display dialogue box makes very little difference to the one with round edges but a big improvement to the faceted part. Anyone know how to select anything inside a drawing whether it be a note or table or dimension etc at one time instead of having to first select the appropriate tab above first before you can select or modify it?   Is there anything you can do to override having to first select the drawing tabs shown on the top of the drawing before you can select it or even modify it?   Example: I have to select the "table" tab before I can edit any text inside the table cells   I am finding this new feature on Pro engineer very ineffective and time consuming in having to pre select the dimension tab before I can select or modify the dimensionsThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I'm working on a large scale project trying to repair and use our entire PTC project. I'm working on learning and maintaining aspects as far up as Windchill System Administration to as far down as stylesheet control. My company is using information from our mother plant in Japan, who sent us a version of their custom folder since ours wasn't tailored to their products. However, their acl files didn't translate over properly, so their comment lines are in gibberish and sometimes their command lines are off, too. I've put in support to PTC, requested translated files from Japan, contacted my own IT and scoured the internet for a way to correct this translation issue. This is critical for us, since many aspects of our project our stuck until we can understand what they did and how they did it. I think that this is something programmers run into often, and would know how to fix, but that's a guess and I don't know any programmers. Any help would be much appreciated. ThanksI attached an exa

Hi guys, I am very new to Mathcad, more of a Matlab user. I heard Mathcad is better for symbolic maths, and its rather hard to solve exponential equations in Matlab symbolic toolbox. I have seen a few tutorial, read the guide book, but nothing works. I know I am missing something. I have attached the worskheet with simple derivative, it also shows emission failure or pattern match exception message. I just want to learn on how to solve it. Additionally, I cant access the Variable, Matrix and Transform options under Symbolics option. Please advice guys. P.S: I learnt the basic of Mathcad with sine wave plotting and so on. Hi,I am a newbie with mathcad.I am trying to solve differential equations for water flood height calculation.I followed an example written in previous Matcad and tried to modify it to fit with Mathcad Prime 2. I don't have the original matcad code, only the print out.Somehow I couldn't define the equation for dH0/dt and dH1/dt correctly in Mathcad Prime 2.
